You make the mistake of assuming that there is racial equality to begin with. That is all.

well, I don't think hate groups are exactly prevalent or the actual topic of this thread. As far as I know it's perfectly legal for a group of people to get together and peacefully do just about anything they want as long as they aren't breaking any other laws.

I think Cairoi is upset with the excessiveness of political correctness. Certain words are taboo now. They're not Indians they are native american. Not black, negro, nigger etc. they are African American.

Well, as for my opnion if you were born in America/Canada then you are that nationality. If you were born in England and moved when you were 2 days old you are from England. If you were born in Africa then you are African or if you want to be more country specific then so be it.

Oh, and about charities and the like, I personally find that there are plenty of groups in America that might as well be classified as "we hate all non-blacks" or "We only care about blacks and anyone we can screw over to promote some black agenda is okay by us". I'd love to see a NAAWP started but somehow it would be racist or something.

I personally think all organizations that divide based on race or ethnicity should be abolished. I think it's silly that we claim to have such an equal country (countries) yet we are so divided on racial and cultural lines that you can usually tell what area of town someone is from based on the color of their skin.

[/rant] Okay, I think I'm done now.

the thing is, it could be argued that they are not publishing lies or out to ruin any specific person. im not aware that they really spread their message and beg people to convert, it was my impression that they just gather together and dislike some people. if it's a peaceful gathering, they have a right to do that. if the government told me i couldnt be with five of my friends and talk about how much i hate a specific celebrity (for example), i would feel that is basically just shutting my mouth and ridding the country of it's democracy and freedom. to have freedom we have to be able to both love AND hate, because they are two strong human emotions that need to be exerted somehow. i think that if it was strictly forbidden to say anything bad about another person period, not only would that, like i said, rid us of our freedom, but there would probably be many more acts of violence, as people like those in the kkk would feel the only way to ~*cleanse*~ the world would be to actually hurt or kill blacks instead of talk crap about them, shun them, and complain about them. isn't the latter better?

i disagree there. i think hate groups should be legal considering it's the law that we have a freedom of speech. however, it of course should not be legal (and is not legal) to hurt anyone etc etc.

i'd like to be tolerated but it's never going to happen, so i remain pretentious.

On the path? Dude, we've been there since the beginning. Our society has never been equal, though we have made progress over the past few centuries.

Yes, there is Freedom of Speech (or so they say), but most of the time when people get offended it is because one of their other rights have been violated. For example, Freedom of Religion or the Press.

There is an African American only college? Where? Charities are non-government sanctioned and are as legal as any other charity or social club, and I have no problem with it as long as it's not some "we hate all non-blacks" society. Like, personally, I think the KKK should be made illegal if it isn't already. Racist clubs should not be tolerated, but otherwise if there is a club or charity designed to celebrate or help out members of a particular culture or ethnicity I am fine with that.

Personally, I'm tired of this extreme influx of controversy on the role of being "tolerant". This era of political correctness is annoying, no can really say what they want anymore. There are cases of people being sued because they said something because they said something, and the First Amendment on the bill of rights kind of says we have freedom of speech.

I don't know, I think it's funny how people get offended about ignorant people, but at the same time, they're ignorant to the education they have and just automatically get defensive.

I believe we're on the path to create an unequal society, instead of making an actual equal society.

I mean, why do we have African-American specific colleges and charities? Isn't that racist by favoring one race instead of another? Isn't the fact that minorities get higher points on the SAT (not sure if this is true, don't yell at me if it isn't) unfair as well?

I don't know, if you agree with me, great, if not, oh well.
