Copied from Jul...

Audioslave - Like A Stone

It very rarely plays on the radio, but every time it does, I get the tune of the chorus stuck in my head. Without the lyrics, that makes it a bit harder to identify the song. Caught part of one of the later lines today, and after a shitload of searching through the station's website, I found it.

This is a recurring issue for me, and it doesn't help that our radio reception at work is shit. This has also happened with Fade to Black (Metallica), Would? (Alice in Chains), Time (Pink Floyd), Outside (Staind), and at a previous job, Sister Golden Hair (America) - that last one was stuck on and off for about two months before a lucky Random Page on TVTropes saved me.

And you know it's bad when I of all people am the one to bump the music thread, I mean seriously people.

Listening to the new Dropkick Murphys album, Signed and Sealed in Blood, on Spotify. I like it.

Since it's Jim Morrison's birthday (he would have been 69 had he not died at 27), it's just been all Doors, all the time, all day. And that's fine.

Eureka!! I finally found this Ranma 1/2 song I remember being addicted to when I was 8. I never remembered the name of the song, and not knowing Japanese I was never able to look it up.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Now I can listen to this and ease the obsession while I seek out another white whale.

So randomly the really sad song from the end of Mass Effect 3 popped into my head and I had to go track it down on YouTube. I seriously cannot listen to this thing without tearing up.

I also really, really wish that I could play piano just so I could learn to play it.

Tetrisphere - Sappy

Flipping through miniusfs, I stumbled across this one and it's actually pretty catchy. Good reason to load up Tetrisphere again.

Not that I needed one.

Listening to Spotify a lot lately.

Right now it's on Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction." I might be pissed about stupid shit Dave's been saying but this is still one of my favorite songs.

Also listened to:
"Christine" - Motorhead
"Milford Haven" - The Poxy Boggards
"Fat Bottomed Girls" - Queen
"Mamboleo" - Elissa
"Zorba the Greek" - John Murphey and David Hughes
"Hatredcopter" - Dethklok
"Hungry Like the Wolf" - Reel Big Fish
"Piece of My Heart" - Janis Joplin
"Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't Have Fallen in Love With)" - Buzzcocks
"Raiders March" - John Williams

So I went on another Abney Park binge (if you don't know who they are... steampunk metal. Airship pirate, kinda gothy, steampunk metal... with bellydancing)

Anyway, their last few albums have been rather meh in my opinion, but I went back and listened to a few of the songs and one of them struck me as totally awesome for so many of us.

The song is based on a letter that Captain Robert found in his old house, written by his 8 year old self in a very dark time. It's what inspired him to live his dream of becoming a musician. I think we all can use that kind of inspiration now and then.

So...*sigh*.

I never thought this would happen... But I like dubstep and have been consistently listening to it.

Yeah, we saw the cable special for it awhile back and I couldn't stop laughing either. I haven't heard the extra goodies on the album yet though.

Listening to the new Patton Oswalt album on Spotify. I'm only a fourth of the way through it, and I'm dying.

Heard the first song from the collaboration album Metallica and Lou Reed are doing together.

Yeah, it's awful.

This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
