| Kevin grinned at Francine in a joking manner, and nodded in agreement. Then, he caught sight of his father, looking like a wreck still. "Pops! Hey, are you alright?" he said as he jogged over to him. James smiled weakly at his son. "Yeah, Kevin; I'm alright. It'll take more than that to bring your old man down." He laughed a bit, and proceeded to give his son a heartfelt hug. "I heard you put that bastard Urashi down. Good work, son." Kevin looked at the floor, away from his dad. "Yeah.... He won't be botherin' us any more..." He looked pretty serious while saying this, and he began to wish he hadn't actually shot him. Maybe what Jack said was right... Eliminate Enemy Soldiers in Trench. IN PROGRESS Kevin dashed through the bulding to find Jake at the top of the stairs. "On my count... One... Two... THREE!" Kevin burst the door open, and tossed a few grenades into the into the MG nest at the top of the bunker. He slammed the door shut, and heard the inevitable explosion. "Now!" | THe intro page that SHOULD'VE been up first is going to be up by Thursday; I'm getting my girlfirend's friend, Angi, to work on that. I'll make a link to it in the Story link, the Archives, and the front home page. Also; we need a banner that has some of the characters of the comic in it. I'm a bit tied down with Midterm Exams, so if someone wants to do that, that'd be cool. Okay, thanks, people.

| Hang on; rescanned it. Aso, re-inked it and recolored it. Much better, if I do say so myself.

| The cellphone in his pocket vibrated. As Kevin took it out, the automatic voicemail turned on. "You have... one new voicemail. First voicemail: 'Kevin, call me back. I'm going to need your help with a 2-man mission today. Top priority.'" Kevin quickly turned to Francine. "I'll be right back, babe; I gotta make a quick call." He jogged off to his room, and dialed Jack's number.
Kevin: Jack? Jack: Ah good. You answered. Kevin: Yeah; what's up? Jack: Look, I have to take care of some unfinished business that might determine the fate of little Dalit. I'll need your help sneaking into the Goveernment base. Kevin: Alright, but... you said it was a two man mission; who else is coming, if not you? Jack: Just you and me. Jack: I expect the Government will have begun taking notes from our last encounter, and so will be better prepared. Kevin: Hah! They'll have one helluva time then! With your brains and my brawn, no one will beat us. Jack: Awesome. Knew I could count on you. When I get back from here with Kiera, we'll go. Jack: Also...Make sure not to let anyone know what we're doing. Kevin: Alright; but... *What, dad? Oh, yeah....* Jack... Kevin: We'd better be careful... My dad says that there'll be Sentinals guardin' the place. We'd better watch out. Any ideas for dealing with them? Jack: Sentinals... Jack: Damnitall. Kevin: They got mana protection I hear.. Jack: You'll have to deal with them then. Kevin: Most spells probably won't do shit to them... Jack: I can't waste any of my mana. Jack: ...Maybe Francine should come. Kevin: I hear that; Unfortunately, my Mech won't fit in the halls... Jack: No, you're staying on the roof. Jack: *laughs* Kevin: Ha ha, jack. I have an idea.. This came to me last night. Jack: Listening. Kevin: I could proably sacrifice my Mech's rifle, and use the power cell to fashion it into a blade of energy. Can you help me with that? That'd problably help bring down a Sentinal or two... Jack: Yeah, that sounds good. I like that. Jack: Anyway, I've got to go. Prep your mech as much as you can and get Francine ready. Kevin: But we don't have much time, or so you told me... Can you help me fasion it? Jack: Yeah. I'll be there soon. Kevin: Alright. I'll be waitin', bro. Jack: We have approxamately 8 hours. Catch you in 1. *click* Kevin hangs up his phone. He jogs past his father and up to Francine. "Get ready; we got some work to do." |
