Posts: 2368/3775		 Actually, there was a lawsuit from the village that he used for the beginning, because it was a real place and the fucked them over. They paid them next to nothing, left the place in bad shape (you know how he had a cow in his house? Yeah, when they did that they left cow shit all over the person's house), and they totally humiliated the villagers, who thought they were making a serious movie.

This is why I didn't watch it until my mom happened to rent it. It was stupid, and we turned it off halfway through. I'll say this: All the funniest parts are in the trailers. So just go to this site and look the trailers up. It will take less time, be cheaper, and much more enjoyable.

EDIT: Oh and Nagis, this movie is old. Let's only make threads for movies when they first come out, kay?

Posts: 6340/11751		 Haha, yeah a majority of the movie wasn't scripted. (Obviously the stuff with the terrible video quality). I wouldn't be surprised if the scene with the drunk guys wasn't scripted either (hence why they sued him?)

Posts: 323/577		 I thought that a lot of it was quite funny but I also have a bad sense of humor sometimes. And a lot of people did sue the movie including the neighboring country that he called assholes and partying college kids also sued him.

Kazakhstan is a real country. To stay on topic this movie wasn't the funniest movie ever made, but it was close.

Let me go ahead and say this: The movie itself has its hilarious moments, but 70% of the movie itself made me want to rip the hair out of my head. But it does has its funny moments, I will give it that.

The story follows a character, named Borat, who learns the tradiotational ways of USA so he can bring the information back to a made-up country called Kaziststan.

THe only actors in the movie is Borat himself, the cameraman, his follower (to which I dont know the name), and randomly enough, Pamela Anderson.

My verdict? 3/5 for comedy, 1/10 for plot. Its only worth watching if you want a random giggle or two.
