From what I hear, it's a 9 month tour. ONly I have a feeling it's going to be about 15 months long, and I have no clue as to what I'll be doing over there. It really sucks as far as that goes.
As far as internet goes... I hope MWR is available over there. I don't know though. |

First off, a thank you to One Shot One Kill and Cyro Xero for serving in the armed forces. I hope you both stay safe in your endeavors.
A friend of mine just got back from a tour in the Mid East in mid-December. He's in the Army. He told me all kinds of stories about life out there. When he was out on patrol, he had several stories about close calls, and I was surprised that he was so calm about it all. I guess the fact that he had so much fun when he wasn't working that it balanced out. He played a lot of Halo3 and spent a bunch of time on FaceBook. I hope both of you, and any other service members, are able to have fun while on duty. Be safe! |

Well, as some who is overseas right now I can say it's not bad being away from home. Being in a hazard zone is risky, but you only really need to worry if going outside the wire. My suggestion to you is to ask your CO or 1SG about being a BOSS representative. Trust me when I say you get to set up and do a bunch of fun stuff. Depending on where you're at, I guess. It should help keep away most of the worries you might have. I was kind of hoping to maybe meet the only other service member from Xeo when I get back to the states later this year. But I guess that'll have to wait.  |
