I figure the Anderson Cooper interview only was only him saying that he will resign and that he was resigning right at that moment. "I am a better person today than I was a week ago I promise you." Sounds like he got dumped by his girlfriend and he wrote her a little note in homeroom asking her to take him back.  |

Heh, yeah. I'm from California and we have all kinds with raging extremes in every which direction and not just left and right. Most other states think we're all liberal and crazy. I guess, in a certain sense, depending on what part of the state you wander to, they might be right.

What stinks for me, being right around Little Rock, is that we're going to to get labeled as right-wing extremists over this BS when a lot of people around here may have somewhat similar conservative values but aren't exceptionally fundamentalist about them like this canned spiel.
And, of course, the media is JUST fine about eating some of that up and making it look like all people around here think like that. Can't do that with normal people - isn't newsworthy - but it's easy to generalize by state with the media doing things the way they do these days and living in an era of political correctness. |

My squad leader and I had a debate over this issue. Of course being the person I am, I told him how tired I was of the "It Gets Better" stuff. I told him that YOU make it better with YOUR actions. I did not see these suicides as a bigot thing. I just saw them as a "fuck you" to all of the things they could be. We even talked about this stuff because it was on AFN. He compared me to that guy. I was pissed of course.
Seriously though, to have a thought process like that you have to be from Tennessee or Kentucky. =P People are stuck to their own opinion. Doesn't mean that they should show it. |
