when the Senate even admits it, you know it's true
And that may have been a dumb episode of South Park, but I think that point holds true. |

You're a dumb episode of South Park. T_T XD Anywho... uh... you need to stick a few more "allegedly"s over your post, Lobster. T_T |

there have been government conspiracies that have been uncovered...hell, warren g harding became president so he could play government held oil against the stock market for profit and tried to cover it up!
people are by nature greedy and when they indulge that greed, generally they attempt to keep others from knowing about it and butting in. so some theories are entirely plausible....others are dumb. more importantly that was a dumb episode of south park |

Some people secretly believe them, and don't want to accept it, so it hurts their feelings. T_T |

That is because fear is the root of all emotions (psychological theory). Seriously though, like the South Park episode said, if people want to believe in conspiracy theories, let them. It doesn't harm the people that don't believe in them, so what is the big deal? |

was this thread made because of that south park episode you saw on weds?
i missed it on weds, and just saw it last night... and was like, strange, i just saw a thread about this... anyways, fear is the cause of everything. from religion, to consperiacies, to war, to everything. |

The Illuminati and the Freemasons were, and, in the case of the masons, still are,
influential and powerful groups in the world. The Illuminati are most likely a defunct organization but that doesn't mean they didn't at one time exist. I understand that your points wasn't trying to say they never existed, just that they most likely were not conspiring to rule the planet. On a side note, anyone ever seen that Mel Gibson movie Conspiracy Theory? Good movie, everyone that hasn't seen it should check it out. The point of a good conspiracy is that there's no way to prove it, if you can prove the existence of a conspiracy then that means that they fucked up somewhere along the way. I like conspiracys in a 'what if' kinda way. But not taking them too seriously. |

But the magic bullet?
![]() Anyway, I don't really believe too much in coincidences myself, and any fact can be easily altered in some way so that it fits a 'coincidence.' That's my opinion at least. |

Okay, as long as this is open, I'll get a couple words in.
Generally, I don't believe in them. I simply posted a lot of interesting things I saw in 9/11 that I got in an e-mail. I also don't believe in the illuminati or freemasons being evil and planning the conquer the world. In general, I don't think there is a huge backing to every story. In fact, the only thing even slightly related to such a thing is with that of aliens. Many people that used to be in the CIA have spoken about how the goverment had found aliens, and then hid the evidence of them. I wouldn't be suprised if the goverment wants to hide that there are aliens, and I probably would have too. So, as a result, I only believe in minor ones which make sense, and don't have huge conspiracies to destroy the world or something like that. |

Chev, I thought this was xeo's forums, and stop spamming. I'm just saying, if you make a logical argument and it's coherent, now there's a debate.
Even Xeo said that: Originally posted by Xeolord |

For there to be a debate, there must in fact be a grounds of debate. Unless you're just making a rant thread, which is unsuitable for this forum. What about conspiracism? Good, existant, fishy? It's hard to debate something when someone just throws out a word. "There is nothign stupid about the train of though I just stated." Sorry, but there's lots of stupidity, such as the lack of a topic, grammar, et al.
All of that being said and done, I present my resolution: People take on conspiracism as a way to cope with reality. |
Kaijin Surohm Posts: 1370/1852 |
And people are saying I'm the closed minded one.
The topic is really over the idea in general over consperiacies. I don't believe them, other people do. Find yoru own way to discuss it. |

i'm just confused on what we're debating on...
the first post of the thread, was just really ramblings =/ |

Know what's not a conspiracy, Kaijin? Grammar. The conspiracism that you mention is a vent, people want to believe in that sort of thing, who are you to stop that? People want to think that "the government" is behind everything, it provides closure, it's what you want to believe in the back of your mind. No one wants to think that by their actions, such a event happened. Alas, I believe one such conspiracy is the idea of "the government," such a shame "the government" doesn't exist, then things would be simpler. |

There is nothign stupid about the train of though I just stated.
While there IS corruption, lies and soforth, our government would not kill thousands of our own people just for some sick idealistic ideals. Believing that they do is the real closed minded idiots out there who can't even look at their own shadow without jumping. No, I didn't say every single person who fully believes it is a dramaqueen. While most of them ARE Drama queens. Trust me, they thrive off the drama. No, the real culprits are retards who ARE Drama Queens, and because the know how stupid people are, they figure out a bunch of coincidences, and hand it out to the public in such a way, the extremists eat it up, and further look into evidances, thus also sendin out the word further. It's just one massive downward spiral from one little bastard who hates a quiet life. |
