Remembering Lost and Forgotten Roadside Tourist Attractions and Amusement Parks on the West Coast

I've heard of a lot of these, and even been to a few (I'm pretty sure it was Thunderbeast Park in Oregon that I visited, since Dinosaur Park is waay too out of the way), and I've seen the remains of Marineland.

So many of these locations look awesome, and I wish that they were still there. The really trippy one is the old picture of Magic Mountain before Six Flags bought it.

Yeah, I've been to a few of these (Bullwinkle's, Star Trek Experience, etc).

Weird that they'd claim the Balboa Fun Zone is gone. I was there a couple weeks ago. I guess, since it's not what it used to be, it's metaphorically dead?

One of the Brown Derby hats actually lives on in Koreatown. It looks ridiculous there.

I really wanted to go to that Buckhorn Baths place, but it closed before we got the chance. X_X

Farrell's is slowly making a comeback. They just opened a new location in SoCal last year.

I love that you can still visit the ruins of the L.A. Zoo. It's a short hike and can make for fun picture opportunities.

It's funny that they supposedly had the Lost Dutchman Mine in Tempe when it was believed to be near Apache Junction, Arizona.

Yeah, Magic Mountain's definitely not what it used to be. Well, ever since Six Flags came into the picture.

So many things in Buena Park are gone these days (Movieland, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Buffalo Bill's, etc), especially all those roadside attractions that used to be around Knott's Berry Farm.

Funny that Pacific Ocean Park is closed, yet it was in Zombieland.

You can visit the ruins of the Sutro Baths in San Francisco. Pretty cool.

That is too cool! I didn't know there were so many amusement parks and the like throughout the years!
