Yeah... I got bored so I decided to learn Al Bhed from final fantasy 10. I don't speak a ton but I know a little bit of it. I just need a decoder ring and I can translate it. XD

That's too bad. I know someone who can talk in Al Bhed fluently. He used to got to Books-A-Million a lot. Then he just left.

*sighs* T_T I miss you Squirrel. XD Joke! I wouldn't miss him. He annoyed me by saying it randomly. One day I will show him up. *flame eyes and makes a fist*

I can't speak it, I did collect all the books though...

I should get the game back from my friend so I can learn to speak it fluently...

That would be awesome...

As a Linguistic major, it's sad but somewhat true. Back in the day (which isn't actually that long ago), I learned Al Bhed. And Klingon. And French. British English, Castillian Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian and German. I don't count 1337 as a language. The Al Bhed proficiency (much like German and Japanese) has disappeared though, since I have little or no one to practice with.

With my affinity towards languages, I was very surprised to see that someone else had taken to learning a fictional language founded on the basis of a linguistics person thingy.

I know only seven words off by heart:

Hello - Rammu
How - Ruf
Are - Yna
You - Oui
Cabbage - Lyppyka
Eating - Aydeck
Mole - Suma

Do not ask me why I learnt how to say Cabbage Eating Mole, it's a long story (Well... not too long)

Although, the basis of Al Bhed is more of a speakable code than a whole other language since it's just based on an encrypted version of the American English language, which in turn was just a translation from the original Japanese in which the game was first coded. It replaces letters in the English language with other letters in the "Al Bhed language" to create a simple alphabet code that is meant to be pronounced using English syntax and semantics.

The above translated so everyone can understand: It's not a language, but a code.

Again, people, the internet is such a wonderful resource for finding out things like translating the above sentence. I'm sure if you did a little hunting (Google might help), you'd be able to find it.

And yes, I am patronizing you.
