| Massive, Massive RPG for the PS1.
The gameplay is a unique system of button combos. Running from Triangle, using 1 ap, up to X using 3 ap, you are given a set amount of Ap to dish out damage in a variety of diffrent ways. Through the most part of the game, you won't even know why they gave you fun diffrent ways to reem on your opponent, untill you realise that using a set combo for long enough with teach you Death Blows. Powerful techs used to decimate your foes. Thats just on foot. When you finally gain yoru Gear, a walking robot you control, you can use the deathblows you learned on foot, and turn them into moves of death as your foes will learn to fear your Martial Arts. The story begins with Fei, your ordinary Amnesia victum, as you find yoruself waking in a remote farming village. Your best friends are getting married, Timothy and Alice, and you wish them well, even though you have feelings for Alice. Nothing you can do about that, except wish them well... She wants you to help her by getting a camera setup from the Doctor Citan Uzuki, for some reason, has a fetish with both toy with robots, and planting his house way the hell out of the way for being the only doctor the town has. (Ontop of a freaking mountain). Being the good guy you are, you head up... And thus the story begins. The music of the game will keep you intrested. Not a single track in this game is dull or boring. Each song will stay with you for the length of the game as your mezmorized by the unique style of RPG gameplay. Each tune will fit the even perfectly, and only when the music stops, do you know something is going to happen. With all the gameplay switching, music listen fun, you realise as soon as the game begins, that it has a unique style of graphics. The game uses a 2D character system, in a 3D world. Every Gear you get will be 3D, so you have an intresting mix of 2D, and 3D playing together, along with Anime cutscenes floating randomly about, mixed with CG cutscenes, this game uses all it has to it's advantage, and it acctually looks good. Average gamers will beat this game in 70 hours, and avanced players will own it in 40. This game is long, and very in depth with games. For gamers with long tolerance, and insane patientes: 9.5/10 Thoes without tolerance/Patients: 5/10 Regarless, this game is a gem to have. Check it out. |

| Hmmm, does Xenogears tie into Xenosaga?? I want to know so i know if i have to first beat Xenogears to play Xenosaga... Anyway, me and Shanan played this in his basement, and I have to say it is a freakin awsome game. Alot of indepth game play, and alot of plot twists and turns. Seriously, when you first start playing, you think its simple, there is just one group your fighting against, then you learn that all the groups are being played against each other by something way beyond anyones power.
All of the action scenes and movies are awsomely animated, and have great sound effects. They really did a good job on this game, and poured everything into it. This is just one of those games you must own for the PS, even if your not a big RPG fan. If you have a PS or PS2, and your a fan of RPG's, this is in the top games you should own!! | Xenogears is infact, tied to Xenosaga.
Xenogears is Episode 5 Xenosaga is Episode 1 And we already have episode 2 out =P |

Now heres what I honestly think and would make it still legal... Xenosaga is the 6 episode saga BEFORE the 6 episode saga Xenogears comes from. Treat Xenosaga as a prequal saga to the real saga. I honestly think that Xenosaga is the saga in which the Deus Weapons system is made and becomes operational. Then thats the end of the saga. Then the next saga picks up where the elderidge crashes and whatnot. Simple eh? Either way, It cant be tied into Xenogears directly, but this indirect route is being taken. Also on more sad news...there most likely wont be any XS games anymore due to the main creators splitting from the project and declining sales. Which..is ok by me, cause honestly i think the XS games actually are a slap in the face of Xenogears which is superior in story and character development. |

| Tkhe games can easily be tied together.
If you can't think of how, then you seriously need to go back to learn more. Xenogears and Xenosaga are part of the same series. They can legally be tied to gether because the same guy who made the story for Xenogears, is working on the Xenosaga series. That, and I don't know what rock you've lived under, but Square is STILL developing the 'Saga. Square Enix anyone? The companies merged. That means both sides have the same access to whatever they have going. They can very easily link up the games. Hell, the beginning of 'Gears starts off with the same tech. stuff that 'Saga has. All that happened was a highly developed weapon crashed onto a planet, thust a chain of events occuring. (the simplistic version.) |

| Actually Namco made Xenosaga. I also read somewhere that myth of "Gears" tying into or being Ep.5 is exactly true. A 1 in a 100,000 chance that it will happen that way, but don't get your hopes up. And as far as I know I have heard of any plans to stop the XS project. |
