Looks like Konami is doing a little retro thing of their own, and with my favorite shooter most of all. This makes me wonder though if it would make it on this side of the pond (U.S.), especially with Gradius Gaiden on it, this game has never graced American shores at all (unless you do like me and emu PSX and burn the game), would be nice if Konami brought this here. Heck I bought Gradius 3 and 4 for PS 2 off Ebay, if I could save some cash I'd buy a PSP for this and the new Ghouls N Ghosts (Makaimura) title.

It's just too bad Konami wouldn't do this for PS 2 as well, and bring it out here.

the single UMD disk will include Gradius I, II, III, IV and Gradius Gaiden.

I think I'm sold.

I've also seen a ton of friends with SNES emulators on their PSP, that actually run perfectly fine.

Eventually I'd really like to get a PSP myself.

Konami is also possibly going to port Suikoden I and II to the PSP also. Which just gets me even more excited.

Gaiden is extremely fun to play, before Gradius V this was considered the pinnacle of the series, although I still think Gaiden is a tad better than even Gradius V.

Would you say V and Gaiden are better than 3?

Gradius III is still probably my favorite shooter out there.

The original is just too damn hard, with no continues? Jeeze.

Yes Gaiden is better than 3, V as well due to no slowdown, Gaiden is a little easier than Gradius 3, much fairer in difficulty, but unless you import it, the only way to go is to burn it.

Plus Gaiden's stages aren't as mechanical as Gradius V's, and it has variety in levels, including the normal Gradius volcano planet level, except in Gaiden, a black hole destroys it as you're flying along, so not only do you have to put up with enemies, and volcanos, but the landscape itself coming apart and flying at you.

I think I'll add this to my list for when I decide to pick up a PSP. I've enjoyed the Gradius games (even have one for my cell phone). It would be nice to play them again. Only smaller.

*spooges*

I think I just bought a PSP. Well. When I can afford it. *curses the baby on the way*

I love gradius... though I don't think I've played Gaiden.... Or maybe I have. I can't remember. I've played many versions, and loved them all.

Unless you imported Gaiden (and a Japanese PSX), or moved to Japan and bought it, doubtful.

I saw one go for 30 bucks on Ebay recently, but because I don't have an import PSX (and my friends chipped PSX is dead for now) I didn't jump for it. To this day I continue to play a burned copy on an emulator (unless I can get my hands on a free mod chip, or find someone in my area who would have one cheap).

Ah, yes, than this is the game I have played. My friend's friend put one of those mod chips in. He then got a bunch of Jap games. Fun times. I love Gradius to death. It's just one of those classic games that will never get boring.

The PSP is definitly in for me. If I do not recieve one for Christmas, I will go out and buy one. I really want it just because the games have great graphics and you can watch movies on it.
