Hello. So, soon I'll be making my first RP on this board, and I was told that an informative thread about the coming story would be a good idea for a few reasons; to sign up for participation, to discuss the story and clarify any confusions, to create and post info about your characters, and anything else you see fit for talking about here.

So lets get down to business!

If you haven't already read about my idea for this RP in http://board.xeogaming.net/thread.php?id=6366 < that thread, I'll put a brief overview right here.

SYNOPSIS: Mankind has found that God is a being from another world that has the ability to greatly influence and take over the minds of lesser beings. In the near future, humans find God's body floating in the ether above Earth, decaying and dying, which explains the absence of Biblical-esque miracles in the past centuries, as this creature is merely existing and not able to work due to atrophy from being suspended in space for so long. The Angels and Prophets of history and religion are simply fragments of this "Creature God", offspring of a creature who was too powerful to face its specimens below. The Creature God came to Earth to use it as a sort of terrarium for scientific tests its own race would perform, but its sheer presence was enough to destroy a man's molecular structure. A glimpse at one of the Fragments made men immediatly under control of The Creature God. With this ability, the being spread its "holy word" across the globe, warping man's view on life to be what he thought it should. Whenever man did something that dissagreed with The Creature God's word, he was shown the wrath of God - the presence of the Creature. But, God grew old and decrepit, and man lived on, having war after war, murder after murder, rape after rape, until the world was beyond any control even he had. After the growth of space travel and technology, Man found God in the skies, as stated before. It was closer than it ever had been before; mankind needed to do something in order to keep this massive being from plummeting into the planet. So, taking extremly drastic measures, it was agreed upon that this monster was to be destroyed, despite the outcries from the conservative public. Everyone knew it was god; they knew its plans of using the human race as a test subject. Latin was the language used in the Holy Land because it was in fact that same words used by God. This ended up being true. Scriptures were found among the lifeless body of God when men went into space to investigate for the first time. Copies of holy scriptures native to earth, and then more that described the motives of the Creature God, all in Latin. That was enough to prove to man that God existed and was dead. In order to escape the effects of the Creature God's presence while in space, man made machines were sent to retreive these scriptures. Also, because all evidence was photographed, the people of Earth could view the creature, but its actual effects did not take effect.

When the Creature God took its plummet, man did everything in his power to keep it from coming down. The only option was to deflect it using modern weapons; missiles and cannons that could be fired into space, satellites that could fire high temperature beams through the cold void of space. With the combined firepower, man managed to seemingly eradicate God. But, before the smoke could clear, there came the Fragment Rain.

The pieces of God, the Fragments of the epitome of Faith scoured the entire world. People of all races and countries were exposed to God's wrath. Each and every man and woman who was not destroyed by this deadly hail had gone completely insane; the aura's protruding from the living tissue of God eminated still. Some of the tissue had grown into shapes - the same shapes of Angels that visited mankind so many thousands of years ago. They were twisted, more like what a man would call a demon or a monster, though he knew it was neither truly Angel or Demon, it was the remains of a creature that once took control of them through much more peaceful ways. Man had destroyed this monster, and the energy given by the weapons used to break the body of God had allowed life to reflow through the smaller, million beings that fell from on high.

Oddly enough, through unexplained reasons, there were a few survivors who are unaffected by the Fragments of God. These people are who the Roleplayers will play as.

And speaking of the roleplayers, I believe its time to explain the other important meaning of this thread. This is the template in which your characters should be made.

Name:
Age:
Former Occupation:
Former Nationality:
Former (or still in tact) Religion:
Appearance:
Anyother aspect of the character (quirks, blood type, hobbies, favorite things, etc):
Character History (make it interesting, I guess a paragraph is a good length for this):

There are no true guidelines to what you character can be like. I mean, there ARE certain things... you can't be an animal, that'd be sort of... weird. And you can't be one of the Fragments. No matter what, I dunno if you could even be effected by a Fragment, it would sorta go against the idea of your character being unaffected by its power. And for God's sake (yeah, pun, whatev) please don't make your character a superhero of sorts. Sure, the world is completely in ruins and you can take whatever you want with you, but don't make it so they find things or have "connections" to useful things. Make it difficult; this is a survival RP for the most part.

Any objections, character ideas, or whatever you want to say, you can post em now and I'll get a response post-haste!

Hmm.. Sounds interesting.. I think I will try it out..

Name: John greenham

Age: 29

Former Occupation: Navy Seal

Former Nationality:United States

Former (or still in tact) Religion:athiest

Appearance:Even though John has been out of the service for about a year and a half now he is still phisically fit. Standing at about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 lbs of muscle he is a sturdy looking person. He usually wears kinda baggy blue jeans with a flanel button up shirt.

Anyother aspect of the character (quirks, blood type, hobbies, favorite things, etc): Just your average guy, dosnt really care what people think, He just wants to get on with his life. His main hobby is jogging, mountain climbing, and weight lifting.

Character History (make it interesting, I guess a paragraph is a good length for this): At a young age John had a thing for nature because he grew up in the forest's of the north western united states. When he was 18 he joined the navy and became a seal. For around 9 and a half years he was in the service and went up in the ranks then retired early because of a knee injury that he got in a mission oversea's. He now lives alone on the outscirts of a small mountain town. When the "Creature God" was destroyed he was in Washington DC for the last surgery on his knee. It was a week after the surgery so he is almost completely recoverd.

Sounds like something fun to do.

Name: Siofra Cox
Age: 23
Former Occupation: Nurse
Former Nationality: Irish
Religion: Discordian

Apperance: Standing about 5'8", Siofra has auburn red hair and hazel green eyes. Her skin is pale and freckly and she has an average shape for a woman. She typically wears comfortable cargo jeans, a black t-shirt, and a green hoodie.

Quirks: Kisses her hand and touches the ceiling of her car when she goes through yellow lights. Has an obsession with Faeries for the mischeif they cause.

Favorite things: Necklace that hangs around her neck of a golden apple with the word Kallisti engraved on it in Ancient Greek letters.

Hobbies: Reading

Character history: Siofra grew up in Dublin and moved to Los Angeles, CA when she was 17 to become an actress. When it became obvious that her dream wasn't going to happen after a few months, she enrolled in a city college and by 22 had become a RN and moved to Maryland, just outside of Washington DC and the hospital where she worked. She found the whole idea of God being found floating in space to be hilarious until the Fracture Rain began while she was at work. It freaked her out when all the people started dying or going crazy... especially because she didn't know why she was not affected.
