http://www.download.com/Trillian/3000-2150-10047473.html

This program compiles every Messenger program into one basic program...all you have to do is imput your SN into each messenger catagory and BAM, it all works into one...now you dont have to keep switching out tables every time...

I have a extremely slow computer that couldent run AIMExpress...but Trillian works uber fast on my comp so dont worry about if it takes too much room...this program is bad ass

Trillian's load time is annoying as hell. All my anti-spyware programs also seem to pick it up as "spy-ware". Just thought I'd throw in the negatives of the annoying program everyone seems to love so much

Trillian is not at fault because you've overrun your computer with unnecessary software that can't accurately assess the status of your programs. READ: Your computer sucks.

Anyway, uninstall the crap and just leave Spybot on there for spyware. Activate the resident TeaTimer thing, and that'll accurately detect spyware. Remove your antivirus thingy (if you so choose) and download AVG Free Edition; the better freeware and self-updating FREE solution to corporate Norton and McAfee.

You realize that your situation is unique just to you.

I don't have problems with Trillion, neither at work nor at home. It loads fine. It doesn't conflict with my firewall (ZoneAlarm Free Edition), my antivirus (AVG Free Edition), or my spyware detection programs (Spybot--Search & Destroy). It loads fine, and best of all, it hides in the system tray so that it doesn't interfere with my desktop space.

Stop knocking the benefits of freeware and the GNU movement, and get on the bandwagon. Your computer needs a desperate cleansing. I run dual-boot machines (Linux, UNIX, and Windows XP/98 combinations) all throughout my household, and they all run fine with Trillian. But then, they do have me as their primary computer technician.

Trillian's been around for a while, and it's actually the better of the IM clients, if you don't want two or more individual IM clients on your computer. But, since it is freeware, there are granted that there will be bugs.

If you disable the Active X properties through Internet Exploder that Trillian uses to function, then obviously it won't work. Again, all of your computers just seem to be running too many unnecessary processes in the background, which may be why you're having so much difficult with one of the best programs in the world. Period.

But, I know it's hard when you don't have a former hacker as your computer tech.

Anywho, enough of my pandering myself to everyone, I'll just enjoy that Trillian works on my computers and be done with it.

Trillian usually works better if you uninstall the other messenger clients, as well. And remember: no program on this planet is 100% bug proof. Unless, it's just like two lines of code. But, that may be the only exception. I find bugs for a living, so I know that no program is every released 100% bug free. They're release 90 to 95% bug free.

And, Trillian can be set to autoupdate itself, to help with eradication of those nasty little bugs that seem to plaguing your Windoze-based machines.

well while I was using AIM express, it would lag like hell just to get my words in while talking to several people...I dont know if I mentioned that already earlier in this post, but ever since I DL'ed Trillian, I would never get booted from AIMexpress, the letters wouldent lag up, and I can finally get something AIMexpress couldent do...an avatar.

Ive been also using the mic function on my Yahoo account (Add me on your buddy list if you have a yahoo account...I only have like 3 frineds on there...) and ive been using the microphone on there...thats really the only time I have a problem with trillian, whenever I use a microphone to talk to Drizzit for example, it would close the audio connection when I click on another window...But I guess I can DL Ventrillo or something like that if I want to talk to somebody....but all and all, Trillian works wonders on my POS: Windows ME, 156 RAM, 20GB, no Videocard computer...and it runs super fast!

Thats your real problem right there, dump ME, put in Linux or Unix and up the Ram to at least 256 or 512. Or hell, don't even bother doing that, just save up your money and buy a barebone system from newegg.

Also, Good call on AVG Zabuza, not many people know how good it is

I use GAIM when I'm on the Linux side of my main computer, but Trillian handles all my Windows stuff.

Two words, blow me. I don't care if you like me knocking the program or not. I'm giving the downfall of it. Spybot doesn't pick up "everything". Ad-Aware does a much better and cleaner job. Try it sometime before insulting my computer or intelligence you little prick. I didn't take the time to read through your twenty paragraphs of bullshit, because I can argue my point in less than two. I use three anti-spyware programs, Spybot - Sure it does a nice job, picks up some tough spyware, I'll give it that. Doesn't pick the small shit. Ad-Aware - Picks up all the small shit, sometimes doesn't find the big stuff. Yahoo! Anti-Spy - By far my favorite program for anti-spyware. This thing picks up shit you wou would never think of. Saying that Trillian is not an ad-ware or spy-ware is like saying LimeWire, Kazaa, and Bearshare are not spy-ware. Which is false information, all those P2P programs are spy-ware. Oh and another thing real quick here... the load time on Trillian sucks ass. It takes the piece of shit like five minutes to load. I got rid of it a while ago, not caring that it was a spy-ware program. The thing that pissed me off was the fact I had to wait forever for the damn thing to load. Again, I only posted the first time to post the negatives, not to knock the piece of shit. I guess now I'm knocking it. Take my advice get MSN Messenger over Trillian. Who needs MSN, AIM, Yahoo!, ICQ, and IRC all rolled into one? AIM allows instant spammers to track you down and give you bullshit that leads to viruses (ie: FREE XXX PICS HERE!! CLICK THIS LINK!!). I can't knock Yahoo! any, never had a problem with it. ICQ, the only reason I have ICQ in general is to talk to my girlfriend because she doesn't know of any other messenger program, and I haven't downloaded MSN for her. IRC - Haha, so many backdoor viruses in IRC, I hope your not dumb enough to use it. Now let me say it again for you Zabuza... my intensions was not to knock the piece of shit, you replying to offend my intelligence like a little prick changed my intensions. If you are going to insult me and think I'm not going to post back, only because I come here once a day and that I have no problem with any body (except you now), think again. Also, if you are going to reply, don't waste your time with your twenty paragraph arguement, reading is a waste of my time, and I won't do it.

Okay topic has gone way off. Zabuza was just stating a fact and wasn't putting anything personal against you Ryan.

Please no more flaming.
