| Vincent realized that this Bria girl was protecting him...He smiled kindly and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. He stepped past her lightly and looked into the eyes of this man who just entered the room.
"You do not have the cold dead gaze of a murderer. I see you know you do not have what it takes to defeat me. Otherwise your posture would be more confident, your task would be certain. You have no idea what you are getting yourself into." Vincent pulled his hat off his head and tossed it gently onto the bed behind him. his slicked-back black hair was kept very neat and clean. Vincent tilted his head slightly to the side, to take a look at Alarath. "That will be of no need sir, counting will only lead to empty threats. Should he try and attack me, he would gravely regret it." Vincent appeared to duck rather quickly and had hurled his cape over himself, and in an instant he was not there. A white-gloved hand gently patted Rei on the shoulder...from behind him. "As you can see, I have more than a few tricks which would come in handy against someone like you." Vincent's teleportation was no laughing matter. |

Bria smiled sheepishly as Rei explained his presence. She looked over at Avendia and smiled. While she was relieved that she sheathed her weapon, the woman left Bria in awe. Rarely did she hear someone speak as Avendia did and it intrigued her to say the least. She then shifted her attention to Vincent as he stepped by her and spoke to Rei. Her eyes widened when he pulled another one of his magic tricks and she blinked several times as he reappeared behind Rei. |

Wow...technically I guess I was kidnapped... she thought to herself. At that moment, her hand flew to her mouth and covered it as she began to laugh. "It was more of a rescue than a kidnapping, I think." she finally spoke up. "You came all this way because of that?" |

| Alexis kept her knife unsheathed. She shook her head at this guy's attitude. He's got some nerve, she thought.
"Oh, no you don't. How do we know you're not an undercover agent for Red Eye, confirming our location and sending a squad in to finish us off? I don't know about you, Vincent..." she spoke towards him, still eyeing everyone warily. "...But I say we keep this guy here. For all our safety." |

| "I believe that he should stay as well. I do not think that this Red Eye would use a half-blood Animus as a spy; however I did see him battle one of the robots of that man you named Locke, which means that he is just as wanted as any of us are now."
*She gazed at Vincent. A calm, emotionless gaze that most non-Animus found unsettling. She did not know if she could best him in a battle since she had not seem him actually fight; but she acknowledged his skill as a warrior whether or not it was superior to hers. That, to anyone that knew anything about the ways of her people, was a compliment* "It is your decision ultimately if he stays or goes, this is your dwelling after all." |

| Rain had begun to fall outside the Gilded Mirror, making the outside sounds and going ons hidden beneath the gentle curtain of sound it brought with it. No one on the third story was aware that someone had entered the bar . The bartender did, however. A rain-drenched man, with ice cold, yet fiery red eyes, stepped into the bar, wearing the official Red-Eye uniform.
He walked quickly past the bar and headed for the stairs, though his stride was slow. The steps creaked underneath his step as he made his way to the third floor. Soon, he was upon the entrance to the room where all the others waited in discussion. The door slowly opened and the man walked in, catching every eye. Kenneth Ride smiled slightly. "Mission accomplished, Vincent. I couldn't kill Locke, as properly evading gunfire in an alleyway is rather difficult, but I properly evaded him. He's stuck in the sewer. Now, if everyone here would most promptly hand me your Life Co. serial cards, I do request them. Very bad things could happen to all of us if you don't." |

| Bria stood quietly as Rei attempted to leave. Alexis did bring up a good point, but for some reason Bria didn't think he was part of Red Eye. A few moments later, a familiar face entered the room. It took her a second for it to sink in until she realized that he was the other man with Vincent when they destroyed the building.
In a way she was glad that he couldn't kill the other man. How could she anyway? She was still trying to sift through her mind which side was truly in the wrong. She had a sharp feeling in her gut that told her to consider Vincent's explanation as truth, but she was still skeptical, just as she was taught to be. When Ken mentioned handing over their serial cards, she looked at him strangely. The hell? Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at Ken, not so much in a glare, but in contemplation. Would it be wise to hand something over to something I know little of? she pondered. |

We can be tracked by it, and be executed in our sleep. You have all been tagged by Red Eye. You're fugitives, allies in the cause, even if you are unwilling. If they track you, they will kill you. Please, I have to destroy them. I will let you watch me while I do so to know I am not lying." |

| Vincent shook his head and stared coldly at Rei.
"You may not leave, they have most likely marked you as well. You did destroy one of their robots after all. An offense punishable by death." He laughed for but a moment, his attractive face seeming normal and real, filled with emotion, seeming to bear the qualities of a human and not a murderous monster. "He is not Red-Eye, too brutish, too overbearing, lacking grace almost entirely." Vincent placed one hand on the door. "Here, let me help you with that." He moved the door effortlessly and placed it back in position, the hinges repairing themselves after a second. he opened the door and Ken entered the room. "Yes, the Life Co. cards simply must be done away with. They have tracking systems in them for the use in aiding the capture of criminals. Not many people know this because everyone who does is highly trusted or...A criminal who is about to be executed. We once were part of the first group, but now I fear we all are included in the second group. Minus the execution of course, we're all to good for that...I hope." The last part of his sentence was muttered under his breath. He did not want them to lose faith in the Duo before them. "So, you have two choices: One, give us the cards so we can destroy them. Or Two, I can take your cards and destroy them and we can all be very upset with each other for a long time. I opt for the first one for I am tired and do so dislike resistance." |

| Alarath sighed, and made one quick desicion. These people were criminals, they could steel his information with ease. He concentrated, using his fire totem, and started melting the card. He would destroy it himself.
"I think that I can save myself by my own means, thank you." He raised an eyebrow, "and you do realize that since we came here, Red Eye could already have our location, and if what you say is true, this bar could be burned down in just a few moments. Just because the card is destroyed, doesn't mea they can't come back here. The guy in charge of his place is already a criminal for sheltering us-or you for tht matter. He'll have to come with us." He wondered about these people's intelligence. They took everyone to one of their hideouts, before making sure they were clean. What kind of people were these? |

"I don't have one. I destroied mine a long time ago. If the authorities knew where my gang was at all times, it'd be bad for business. So I got rid of it. What? Any questions?" | ((My question was, since I did not live in the city; but was merely visiting it, would a wild barbarian like my character even have a card? I can only assume that since you say everyone has to have one that they are issued at the city gate or something. The reason I asked is because my having one seemed to contradict the image of the Animus that you described. Thusly I will go with the issued at the gate idea since it is the only way that makes sense to me))
