| SATs. I hate them.
It doesn't help you do better in college. It doesn't really test your reasoning. It's ridiculously long (4 hours). And you have to write an essay. I take it tomorrow. Argh. And my critical reading scores suck. Gwar. Discuss. (Last edited by BBQMissile on 03-10-07 12:52 AM) |

| **HATES the SAT** Yeah...they DON'T mean you're smart. I did very well on them...why? Because taking a standardized test is a skill. Anyone can learn a skill. There are all types of intelligence. Just because one isn't booksmart, doesn't mean they're smart.
Grant it, on the other hand I think they're useful. If one does well, they can get all sorts of scholarships, grants, etc...I got screwed over of course. I got the wrong fucking scores sent back to me...was supposed to go to a pretty good school next year and had a whole bunch of other uber good schools' acceptance. But no. I get the wrong scores. All the good schools look at my scores, say I suck at life and I don't get the scholarships I needed to afford those schools. Then I get the right scores, basically kickass scores, but all the admissions decisions were made. Yeah. I'm in a community college. I never once downed them before actually going to one, so at least I gave it a chance...and just cuz I dun like it so far, doesn't mean everyone doesn't like it, but still.... Yeah...[/SAT rant.] |

| I never took the SATs before, but I have took the MEAPs which I assume is like them. If so, then I don't really hate the MEAPs too much, they allow you to read magazines when your done and you are actually allowed to chew gum. (Last edited by Byte on 03-10-07 01:30 AM) |

| Been there, done that, conquered. I dunno, SATs weren't so bad for me, I just kinda lazed through them and didn't study, got 1150, and didn't do anything with my good score. I'm accomplished. | |||

| I haven't taken the SATs yet, but when I took the PSATs which are like pretests of the SATs, apparantly I did better than 93-90% of the people in the country.
Yeah, I hate these tests, but at the same time, I think that grades don't determine smartness either. I know a ton of people who do so much better in me then school because they care. I, on the other hand, don't really. |

| yeah i did really well on the PSATs too. but then again, the PSATs were much easier than the SATs. I think the thing that really hurts people is the length of the SAT. 2 hours into the test, you get really tired...and you realize you still have two more hours to go.
oh well. The SATs were alright today. nothing was particularily surprising. Some really tough questions, some very easy questions, and some inbetween. We'll see how it turns out. |

| If I remember correctly I got an 1190 on mine the second time I took it (I got an 1180 the first time). The annoying one is the SAT II, but at least you can choose your sections then. | |||

| Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (13th, 14th, 15th) I have to take the newly enstated Michigan Merit Exam. The first two days are the ACT, and then the third day is this "Work Keys" thing. I don't even know what that is.... Wish me luck. And about the SATs... I can't wait to get there. | |||

| Yea I took the SAT last saturday. Very boaring. Plus they took almost 5 hours for me since some kid in my class took half an hour to write in cursive. When did they start calling it the SAT "Reasoning" test? |
