| In my area, for the past few days, it was in the low and mid-90s. I'm glad it hasn't made the leap to the 100s... yet, but it's acomin'.
At least it's not humid in combination with the heat. I HATE humidity. It's not something we're very accustomed to in southern California (it might weird some people out when I refer to where I live as "southern California," but it's mostly because the northern end often has COMPLETELY different weather and more often than not, the people and goings-on are different as well). Anyway, humidity. I absolutely despise it. After spending some time in states like Florida, Indiana, and Texas, where the air can get ridiculously thick, I've decided that humidity is definitely not for me. | Shortly after finding the story with the above link, I Google'd around to see if I could find any more in-depth articles on it and came up with this rather rude blog post regarding the elderly man.
I can't find it now, but they were going on about how creepy this guy is and how strange it must be to listen to a dead person's voice. So what do you call watching home videos or looking at photo albums that happen to have grandparents who've since past away? Seriously, this guy is harmless, and not only that, substantially wonderful. I mean, he's calling to hear her voice for comfort. That's absolutely beautiful and people who can't see the sweetness in it are ugly inside. |

I picked up the first issue a couple weeks back. Not bad. Looking forward to the rest of the arc. In the meantime, word has it Grant Morrison is going to pull together "Final Crisis" for DC. Even he makes the crack that this is another Crisis for Marvel's "Distinguished Competition" what with other titles under the label like Identity Crisis and Infinite Crisis. So yeah, maybe the World's Finest will get their apocalypse afterall.

I saw it earlier this afternoon.

It's like watching Hook with Chinese mythology in place of the Peter Pan legacy. It's quite enjoyable, especially when they get to this 10-minute long fight scene of Jackie Chan and Jet Li just going at each other. What makes that all the more special is the fact that it's the two of them--not just when they need their faces on camera while two stuntman tear into each other. It's the real deal. (Yeah with wires and choreography courtesy of Woo-Ping Yuen, but still )

I have the TV on simply as background noise, but it happens to be on the 700 Club. They started discussing how states should guilt more women into deciding against abortion.

South Carolina and many other states have started asking women if they would like to see an ultrasound prior to their abortion. Trick is, no abortion will be carried out for an hour after the ultrasound has been seen. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hafzj8dc_EDqgSwNYuws_OM_HDKAD903T94O5 Though the article that link leads to mentions that it's optional to see an ultrasound, the 700 Club/CBN claimed that it can be interpreted as women will be required to receive an ultrasound, therefore forced to wait an hour. Thoughts?

Like I'd write out a post or PM and it either wouldn't get sent or show up in the thread I posted. The other thing I noticed is that I also was having trouble amending my profile. I'd write something in the custom title and it wouldn't show up after I'd save. All of these things have been fixed for me, but yeah, I was in the same boat earlier.
