It's apparently becoming more and more accepted that Alfie is not the father (or at least, probably isn't), and that this was all a scheme cooked up by Alfie's mother and the 15-year-old girl's mother as well so they could cash in on the sensationalism.
Media outlets are offering $180,000 just for the paternity results. Article: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/754189/alfies-fatherhood-a-scam-family-friend |

*Epic bump*
Ok, I've actually watched every episode this season and I've just gotta ask---What the fuck is going on this season? (Screw spoiler tags... what follows below. You guessed it. If you haven't been keeping up, it's spoilerific) I mean, we all thought Heroes was bad at getting to the point, but they finally kill off Cromartie, and immediately he's back, but now he's "John Henry." Ellison, the FBI agent, completely believes Sarah now, and is just sitting around, under the thumb of a T-1000 (I assume that's what she is, although it could just be another model of terminator composed of liquid metal). Up until a couple episodes ago, all the two of them were doing was sitting around in an office building talking about the other not understanding this, that, or the other thing. FINALLY the T-1000 gets up and decides to kill everybody. Derek's girlfriend from the future came back and brought the girl who became John's girlfriend with her. STILL no explanation of their story. All they do is disagree and Derek's girlfriend keeps making Riley depressed/feel guilty (whom I wish would just die off already). Sarah's off looking for some spacecraft she saw in her dreams, but swears is real. And now apparently it is. Had to spend an episode with a cross-dressing conspiracy theorist to discover what she was looking for, but yeah, she found it and we're all still just as confused as before. John, Cameron, and Derek? Doing jack shit. I mean, they had a few descent episodes here and there (like when Derek and John had to find this kid and make sure he stayed alive because in the future he's going to sacrifice himself to save John), but it just seems like the whole thing's in a complete lull. If I weren't watching this with someone who is complete Terminator, I'd have dropped this show a loooooooong time ago. Especially now that it's on Friday nights alongside Dollhouse. OK, some news...
Suleman's ex-boyfriend hopes he's a father of the octuplets. His reasoning? They dated and he donated sperm to the same bank she uses. I don't know whether it's fame-seeking, or perhaps stepping up to responsibility, but whatever. Maybe he'll get a book deal out of it. "Eight is NOT Enough" This just in... Boyfriend is telling the media he donated sperm because he loved Nadya Suleman. Suleman is denying he's the father of any of her children, citing "a friend of mine" as the real donor. In a previous interview she didn't deny he was the father and called him a "amazing friend." Near the end of the article this ex of hers, says she told him she had ovarian cancer (possibly his reasoning for donating). A psychologist names off reasons why Suleman's behavior should be considered criminal. Several media outlets have checked out Suleman's $1.24 million home saying virtually the most child-UNsafe house possible. Another talks about the unsafeness of her marble fixtures and such. By the way, if you haven't read the description of this "mansion," it's supposedly only a 4-bedroom house. Lastly someone created editorial cartoon of her. I actually didn't laugh when I saw it. I felt like it. It captures her exact face, its expression, and this whole situation quite well. Maybe that's why I couldn't find it in me to laugh. I'll be honest. All kidding aside, anytime I see that face, she has this funny-looking expression. It's this mentally-challenged, deer-caught-in-headlight look. And underneath that she gives this wry smile from time to time that just says, "I'm well aware of what I'm doing, and you just keep buying papers and fanning my guh-lorious fire." And I really, and I mean really, want to let her have it. I want to punch the collagen right out of her lower lip. She disgusts me so. Anyway, you really can't just look away. I'm finding myself slightly amused. Up until last semester she went to the same school I do. And what's more she's been having her babies at the same hospital at which I used to work. I don't know her ob/gyn as he practices in Beverly Hills. Oddly enough, I occasionally walked by the new baby viewing window from time to time. It's a long shot that I saw any of the older kids, but now I can't help but wonder. Also she lives within a mile of my dad's brother and his family in Whittier. Small world, I guess. Originally posted by Elara And that's the great thing about Gaiman. He's so fucking nice. When a lot of critics were knocking the Stardust movie saying things like, "Gaiman's pissed that they changed the story so much, at least I would assume he's pissed," I laughed. I heard him say firsthand that he loved the new take on it. He compared the book and movie to Earth I and Earth II (DC comics reference to there being two different realities). Even when news about Coraline was still at a trickle, and I'd heard they added a character to the story to act as Coraline's best friend, Neil went on TV to say that he thought this change was great. He reasoned that viewers would probably think she's crazy with how much she talks to herself in the story, so they added a little boy to listen to her. But Gaiman is a very flexible author. He can laugh at mistakes here and there, and still enjoy something based on his work. Now his two friends, Sir Terry Pratchett and Alan Moore, on the other hand... I can say this right now, based on the ads, scenes, and so on that I've seen for this movie, it has the look down solid (the costumes for a couple characters aren't exact, but that's OK. Ozymandias doesn't resemble the one in the book, but that's OK). So far, I can say that there's one line added that wasn't in the book, and the scene I posted with Ozymandias and Dan talking was actually between Ozymandias and another character, but in the end that's probably OK. Some conversations happen in slightly different places, but that's all right. I'm curious to see if they excluded any characters, as Zack Snyder did supposedly cut some pieces for time that are getting their own straight-to-video released (like the Black Freighter storyline). I mean, Snyder appeared to be fighting for the right to make this movie the way Alan Moore envisioned it. He fought really hard just to get Nixon back into the movie as well as other pieces, saying it wouldn't be Watchmen without them. So I guess what I'm saying is, it looks like we won't be disappointed with this one. See it first, or maybe read it first. Like I said it's all based on if you want to have that surprised feeling when you see the movie. Getting surprised at the theater's always fun, gets the blood pumping. No fun if you already know what's coming. (Last edited by Rogue on 02-25-09 07:45 PM) |

Alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman, Josh Brolin, and Michael Shannon.
Frankly, looking on it now, I'm surprised Mickey Rourke didn't win for best actor. Especially with how much buzz was surrounding him for doing thing part. Apparently he's backed out of playing Marv in Sin City 2 due to his playing this role. It was supposedly something of a comeback for him. I mean, his name is in the media A LOT these days. An amputee girl, whose legs were removed from the knees down, had a special mermaid suit made for her by Weta, the good folks who do the concept art and special effects for such films as Lord of Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, and King Kong.
The tail they made for her came with a suit so she can swim. Check it out: ![]() Article: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10171471-1.html?part=rss&tag=feed&subj=Crave (Last edited by Rogue on 02-25-09 07:41 PM) |

You know, looking back, I really loved watching the first Harry Potter movie when it was fresh in theaters. Since I'd read all the books up to that point, I still got a thrill out of watching the Quidditch match the first time, or seeing McGonagall transform.
Well, since Snyder did 300 really well, and so far most of the previews are fitting with the book, I think it's safe to say that this is gonna be pretty darn close. |

Apparently Weta does this sort of thing all the time for people. Well, not mermaid tails for amputees, but prosthetics and make-up for people who have permanent damage to their faces and such.
That's pretty cool of them. Here's some footage of her getting used to swimming with it: |

Just when you think things might have ebbed, even just a little... *Sigh* ... I don't know...
The Kaiser Permanente hospital Suleman had the octuplets at is refusing to give her her babies until she can prove that she's in a situation where she can take care of her 14 children. Upset, she called "Dr. Phil" McGraw in hopes that he'd champion her situation and get the hospital to let her have her kids. McGraw was quoted by the L.A. Times as saying that even he didn't think she was in the right sort of home, financial, transportation, etc situation where she could take care of 14 kids. At the same time, Vivid Entertainment offered her $1 million to do go on contract with them to do porn. TMZ (ugh..) got a copy of the letter they sent her: http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0224_octomom_vivid_wm.swf A rival porn company is actually offering her a year's worth of diapers is she DOESN'T do porn. Their letter can be found here: http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0225_octomom.swf |

Seriously, go Pink Visual!
I'm amazed they were that concerned for her and the kids and it's quite smart to offer diapers so it will directly help her kids and people won't claim she's just doing it to get money. EDIT: I'm watching the episode of Dr. Phil now (I'm bored, was flipping through channels and it happened to be on). She says her student loans were going to help her provide for the babies and other 6 kids. She had a choice to either keep the embryos she had left frozen or have them destroyed, and she says "through rationalization" she had them implanted. Her mother argued with her that she could have donated the embryos for adoption and Nadya just stared at her perplexed. That clip can be found here: http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/02/octomom-erupts-video-showdown-with-her-mom-over-babies.php She talks like a 13-year-old with an attitude at times. Dr. Phil did get her to admit that even having just one child after the 6th one would be wrong. Nadya doesn't want her mother moving in with her in her million-dollar home. Her mother is on the verge of foreclosure since she owes $25,000 that she didn't pay on the house since May. However she is expecting her mother to come help her. One of the interviews from which they showed excerpts: http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/02/octomom-unplugged.php They showed some of this too, where her mother said she's tried to hide that she was pregnant in the past by claiming she had a tumor: http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/02/octomom-lied-about-pregnancy-i-have-a-tumor.php (Last edited by Rogue on 02-26-09 08:04 PM) |
