| Yeah, you can retest to get a higher score. Same with the GRE (the other exam I could have taken... for twice the cost).
Results showed up in the mail... within my major I scored in the 93rd percentile, and overall I was in the 92nd. I was in the car when I read it, but I felt like doing a jig. |

I think one of the reasons that they don't like you talking about being Christian (of any type, but I assume especially Catholic) is because people in the Middle East are still really really angry about the whole Crusade thing. The American commanders want to distance themselves as much as they can from that, which most likely includes having the soldiers of keep mum about their beliefs. Also, like Rogue said, you guys showing respect for their culture helps gain their respect and trust, making it easier for them to not see you as invaders and enemies and thus making things more peaceful.

It is also a huge cultural thing in that region. Even non-practicing Muslims often follow such customs as fasting during Ramadan. In the end, while it does suck for you because you are not one of the people that gives the religion a bad name, Christianity does have the stained reputation of heavily persecuting other faiths (Jews, Muslims, Pagans, Hindus, etc), just like white people have the reputation of mistreating non-whites. It isn't fair that you have to pay for the actions of morons in the past, but because some of those morons are still around the brass has to play it cautious.

I may or may not see it. I saw First Class and while it was entertaining, canon-wise it was utter crap... might rent Thor and Green Lantern when they come out on DVD or something. I suppose this one really depends on what is playing with it at the drive-in. |
