| What have you done in 2012 that you have never done before?
-Shared a flight back to Pittsburgh with Sidney Crosby (captain for the Penguins hockey team) and got his autograph. Took my parents to Niagara Falls. Road on one of the river boats down in Pittsburgh. Ran a Pathfinder RPG adventure path. Went to a Yule Log party at the brewery. Explored Lake Arthur by boat. Developed photographs. Did you keep your new years resolution from this year, and will you make one for next year? - I don't even remember what it was, so probably not. Did anyone close to you give birth? - A few friends, but no one really close. Did anyone close to you die? - Surprisingly, no. Where did you travel to in 2012? - California and New York What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012? - Stable employment for everyone in the household and my fucking Master's Degree. Oh... and a wedding (fat chance on that one getting done). What dates from 2012 will you have etched in your memory, and why? - July 4th, meeting Crosby... and that is about it really. What was your biggest achievement of the year? - Not killing my professor? Um... no... I dunno, this year was kinda lame. Hitting 4 years with Ben, and getting at least a B in all my classes. What was your biggest failure? - Getting a B in those two classes and not forcing Ben to get a job right after he was laid off instead of waiting for the temp agency to "help". Did you suffer injury or illness? - Only the usual scrapes, bruises, and minor cold. What was the best thing you bought? - $300 worth of gaming minis and paint... it was a Kickstarter project... it's worth far more than that. Whose behavior merited celebration? - Ben's mom... she did very well with keeping her annoyance (and amusement) with my dad's little... quirks... to herself during my parent's visit. My parents, for actually behaving quite well and for being awesome when my car decided to go nuts on me. Also my friend, Darin, who on multiple occasions has helped us out without really having to ask... I've basically adopted him as a baby brother now. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? - Pretty much everyone else around me. Where did most of your money go? - Bills, food, and gas. And Kickstarter. What did you get really, really, really excited about? - The Hobbit, a black squirrel, meeting Crosby, the California trip, and running my first Pathfinder campaign (especially the creepy haunted house part) What song will always remind you of 2012? - "Gangnam Style" hands down. Compared to this time last year, you are: a) Happier or Sadder? - Sadder, overall. b) Thinner or Fatter? - Fatter c) Richer or Poorer? - POORER. What do you wish you would have done more of? - Gone outside and explored. What do you wish you would have done less of? - Sitting around and watching television. How did you spend New Year's Eve? (December 31, 2011) - Flying home from LA and then sleeping How did you spend New Year's Day? (January 1) - Sleeping and unpacking. We might have gone out, I don't remember. How did you spend Valentine's Day? (February 14) - I honestly couldn't tell you. I think Ben and I went out. How did you spend St. Patrick's Day? (March 17) - Went for lunch at Garfield's for Irish fare and cheap green beer/Irish car bombs . How did you spend Easter? (April 8) - I know I had the day off despite volunteering to work... I don't think we did anything special since none of us celebrate it. How did you spend Cinco de Mayo? (May 5) - Had Mexican food and wished we were in California How did you spend the 4th of July? (July 4) - At the Regatta in Pittsburgh, walking around having fun, seeing a Springsteen coverband that was pretty decent, then losing my phone and spending the entire fireworks show looking for it to no avail. Then having to borrow a random stranger's phone to call my parents and have them call Ben because I could not remember the first three digits of his phone number. How did you spend Patriot Day? (September 11) - Working, because it isn't a fucking holiday. How did you spend Talk Like a Pirate Day? (September 19)? - Working How did you spend Halloween? (October 31) - Working, but at Sam's Club at least. It was snowing, so I didn't miss trick or treating... that ended up being during the weekend. For that, I put on my witch hat and sat in the freezing cold on the steps passing out candy to the handful of kids that came out and remembering my own childhood and how much better it was. How did you spend Thanksgiving? (November 22) - Quiet meal for the three of us with a small turkey and yummy twice-baked potatoes among other things. How did you spend Christmas? (December 25) - Had a roast for dinner... very nice roast by the way... and played Skyrim because Ben slept all day. Did you fall in love in 2012? - Nope What was your favorite TV show? - Game of Thrones, Dexter, Rizzoli & Isles, Burn Notice, and Bones. What was your least favorite show of 2012? - Wasn't exactly happy with how the last season of House M.D. ended either. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? - My former managers at Giant Eagle. Assholes, the lot of them. What was the best book you read? - The Shadow Walkers Book 1: The Shadow's Birth, if only because it is one of the only books that I read last year that was not a textbook. What was your greatest musical discovery? - Nox Arcana What did you want and get? - To visit California again What did you want and not get? - A good job with benefits and a new car. What was your favorite film of this year? - Tough choice... there were some good films this year... but I think I am going to have to go with The Hobbit. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? - I turned 28. Earlier in the month, we went down to Rockbottom for a nice dinner. On the day itself, I worked, then came home and ran my game while we had cake. It was nice. What is one thing that would have made your year more satisfying? - If I wasn't the only one working so I didn't have to worry about money as much. How would you describe your personal fashion concept of 2012? - thin, long-sleeved shirt under same old band shirt and jeans. Except for capris in summer and slacks and shirt for work while I was still at Giant Eagle. What kept you sane? - Talking with friends and this board. What celebrity/Public figure did you fancy the most? - Marc Andre Fleury, as usual. What political issue stirred you the most? - The presidential election. What news story was the most overblown? - Gov. Christy and the President working together after Sandy hit... it's their job, what do you expect them to do? Who do you miss? - So many people... basically everyone we left behind. Did you reconnect with anyone? - When we visited, yes. Tell us a life lesson you learned in 2012. - Just because you can put up with something that bothers you, it does not mean that you should. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. - "Oh all the money that e'er I spent I spent it in good company And all the harm that e'er I've done Alas, it was to none but me And all I've done for want of wit To memory now I can't recall So fill to me the parting glass Good night and joy be with you all" (I can not think of any song better than this one, so I shall use it as well) What plans do you have for 2013? - Hopefully finishing up my Master's program by the end of the year, working more on my Cobalt Nightmare's novel, and looks like a possible California trip at the end of February. What are your resolutions for 2013? - No more soda, go to the gym at least once a week (already failing that one), enjoy the outdoors more. What will you be doing for New Year's Eve? - We watched news coverage of the Fiscal Cliff and had cranberry wine at midnight. |

| You know what made my feel better? Petty vindication the next day. I convinced him to go with me to my work and showed him there were no batteries, we went to Home Depot and Lowes and looked there... still nothing that was what he wanted.

| I will have to check next time I play... put it down to read a book for a bit.
My enchanting right now is at almost 60 if I remember correctly, so it's fun finding things to enchant that really raise it. My smithing got a gigantic boost because I stockpiled hundreds of Dwarven ingots and made so many bows that I broke the economy. I made a frost only start on recreating the Nightingale bow... I named it Nightingale's Kiss. So much damage... dear gods. |

While I am here, thank you to the Pittsburgh Penguins for having an awesome, totally free scrimmage game tonight for the fans. We know that it helps you all get back into game mode before the season starts on Saturday, but after months of no hockey, it was amazing for people to be able to just show up and watch a great game. |

Well, she just got engaged like a month ago so she decided to jump into it and recruit the entire family to vote for her instead. I should point out this is going to be her second marriage and she has a good paying job.
But no, you go ahead, it's fine. Wouldn't want to take money out of your Caribbean vacation fund, now would I? At least you aren't asking your parents to take out a fourth mortgage on their house to pay for another wedding. |

| The sad part is that my friend that sent me this said that because of it he now thinks of Atkinson as the 9th Doctor (since that is what he is referred to)... to which my reply was that based on artwork I had seen of the 8th Doctor I thought he looked more like that.

| I still don't know what Maps is....
So, totally random piece of information. There is a yogurt that they sell at my Sam's Club that either has the worst typo ever on the ingredient label, or has tilapia in it. It's plain yogurt with a strawberry or peach passionfruit mousse on top. Edit: I did some research. Apparently the gelatin in the mousse is made from tilapia because it is kosher and makes it nice and airy. I certainly don't taste any fish at least... but yeah, weird.
