So this is a new one... picked up a rapid-onset cold on Saturday and today my ear is stuffed up. It kinda started like swimmer's ear and upgraded to full "I've just been on a plane and now my ears won't pop" level of annoyance. So far it is just my left ear, thankfully... but it is impacting my work for sure since it's still hard to focus when I can only hear in one ear. |

Seriously though, what are your thoughts on the election this year. Not even on the national level, is there a local race you are watching? A ballot measure you want to see fail or pass? This is my first major election since moving back to California and I must say I am quite pleased with the early voting and mail-in ballots being provided so easily. I am also liking being part of Super Tuesday instead of having the primary later in the year because I am sick of all the canvasing calls and texts.

We went and saw Sonic The Hedgehog. It honestly was better than I expected. Still aimed more at kids, but a lot of nods to the original fans of the series that I appreciated (like chili dogs). Jim Carrey was almost 90s level again and it was both a bit freaky and amazing at the same time... I definitely think he did well in the roll. I just hope the promised sequel will be as good if not better. |

Happy that I got a sorta promotion at work... they moved me to the Major Accounts service team (so, you know, literally dealing with companies like Walmart, Verizon, Uber, etc). No raise, but I am no longer so swamped that I have to work 13 hour days just to stay remotely caught up.... I do miss that OT pay, though.

Happy that I can afford the vet bills to even try to give my kitty a fighting chance, even if it is killing the savings I built up working those 13 hour days. Happy that I have the most supportive partner I could ask for, who has helped keep me sane, cooked nearly all our meals while I was working all damn day, and helped force some normalcy into my life so I wasn't swallowed by work. And he even fought through his anxiety to propose, so that is extra happiness there. Happy I made pumpkin and apple pies from scratch without fucking them up Happy that no one close to me has died of this horrible virus. I know many friends who are not so lucky, and I grieve for them

So I was splitting my time between Assassin's Creed Valhalla (first ever AC game that I have played) and Animal Crossing New Horizons... and then... well.... Mass Effect Legendary Edition came out. So that has now taken up all of my gaming time. |

I've started "The Prose Edda" by Snori Sturluson, but I've been having trouble getting through it due to the way it flows. That and I decided that since they are getting close to releasing the TV series adaptation, I wanted to re-read "The Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordon. Currently on book two, "The Great Hunt" since I am splitting time between it and the Mass Effect remastered series.
