| So, overall, since my one cat passed in March, the remaining cat has been surprisingly okay... I partially attribute this to her being a bit of a bitch. We have been talking about taking a break from pets whenever she does pass... but it is so hard to see people looking to find homes for sweet kitties and have to say no. Partially because of the plans of a break, but also because this cat barely tolerated her own littermate, so we can only imagine how she would react to a strange new cat (she does NOT like the strays in the complex at all).
Right now it isn't too bad, but I worry when I have to go back to the office. She already has been crying when Kaleb has to go out for part of the day for his job... though I wonder if that might be because I'm still here. She doesn't seem to care if we are gone all day running errands or whatever, but she has been randomly more vocal the last month or so. I need cats to be able to talk, guys. It's 2021, why do we not have this technology yet? |

I'm not doing 13 hour days anymore like last year, but I did put in 3+ hours of OT on Friday just to make sure I got a project done. Holiday stuff has been... interesting. One of my nieces and her fiance are holdouts on the vaccine (we've tried to convince them, nothing works) so it makes gatherings fun since they either need to get tested right before or not show up. So far they are willing, but it is just fucking stupid. |

I'm up to book 5 in my re-read of the Wheel of Time series. Already curious how some things will change in the live action given what has aired so far. So how goes the fantasy reading? That still going or did you decide to put it aside? |

| Fuck you work building management who can't figure out something so simple as actually unlocking the doors of the building at 7am when you are supposed to. Clearly, you can't be bothered to fix the key cards, so at least unlock the damn door when you are supposed to. It is absolute bullshit that I had to waste time driving to the office then having to turn around and drive back home just to be able to start my shift on time.
And a side note of fuck you to the managers who can't be bothered to come in before 9am to let those of us with earlier shifts in either. You want us back in office one day a week, do what is needed to make that happen. |

I had to read the "Folk of the Air" trilogy after you mentioned you found it OK (gasp, Rogue ready a YA series?!). It was enjoyable... I ended up reading all the other tie-in works as well.

Finally getting off my ass and reading the Dresden Files books (yeah, I know, late to that party)... so far I am in book 3 and it's definitely getting more entertaining as the world is unfolding. In the wings I also have Dungeon Crawler Carl, on recommendation from a friend (WhiteRose if any of the old timers remember her)... basically, it's the trope of real life person getting tossed into a D&D-like world and a series of "What the fuck is going on here?" ensues. I am looking forward to it.

At the moment, taking the car in to get a faulty tire pressure monitor sensor fixed. We check the tires regularly, but it just seems like every single time we fix one, another fails like a month later.

Hmm, the best way to make a s'more I think is to start off with better chocolate like Cadbury or Symphony instead of Hershey. Something that is gonna melt better (and dark chocolate if possible). Personally, I like to get my marshmallow just starting to get burned and melty and then I assemble my s'more by setting it on the chocolate between to graham crackers, smooshing, and removing the stake I toasted it on... old school, but efficient. What are your thoughts on the pumpkin spice vs apple cider debate?
