| After nearly suffocating in my own room yesterday, I reiterate, "FUCK DA HEAT."
In other news, I'm just going to say it.. fuck you, Carrie. That would be my cousin, who lives up in Sacramento, who's coming down in a couple weeks with her daughter, Maddie, for a show she's doing in Hollywood with her high school acting troupe for much of June. I was pegged to drive them back and forth and wherever they need to go. Now this isn't the problem. I was fine with having to drive Maddie around. She's pretty damn cool, actually. What's not, though, is that Carrie invited other people to stay at our house, particularly the mom of Maddie's "brother" (this guy she hangs out with all the time, who has a girlfriend, but Maddie hangs out with him more, etc). Carrie calls us after inviting these folks to ask if it was OK, and then describes the other mom as "being a control freak." GRRREEEAAAAAAAT. The other issue is this other woman is going to bring her car as well. My town does NOT allow people to park in the street at night and we're only allowed 30 permits a year. Carrie's car and this woman's are going to eat up our permits in a matter of days. Who knows what we're going to do the rest of the year when we'll need them for holidays and such? I just don't know. I'm not that comfortable having people I don't know in my house, but more so that they'll be staying for who knows how long. Carrie was going to come down for a few days and then go back up to Sacramento to work while Maddie stayed here for the month. We have no clue if this woman is going to follow suit or if we're stuck with her. I know it's not fair to judge a person before I've met them, but again, I'm just not comfortable about a stranger in my house. |

| Yeah, another big, fat fuck you fell into our laps today.
Fuck dogs that, once let loose (be it by mistake or on purpose), attack and kill things. First there was the dog that bit the fuck out of the little boy in Bakersfield, who was then saved by his cat. And today... god, this hurts. Today we got a call from Brandon's brother in Ridgecrest, saying Max (his cat that's been in the family for 10 years, bouncing back and forth from Long Beach, Phoenix, and now Ridgecrest) was put to sleep this morning because these dogs, which had collars, got into their yard, cornered Max, and attacked him. Joey hit one of the dogs with a two-by-four, which got both of the dogs to run away, but Max already had a punctured lung. The vet said it'd be $2,000 to try to fix it, but seeing as no one just has that money to throw around, he had to pay the $80 to have him euthanized. Joe is in a murderous rage, understandably so. |

| Oh man, I've really come to love breakfast these days. I didn't used to, but now it's my favorite meal, especially if we go out for it and it's "brunch."
It's hard to pick a favorite, but it also depends on where we go. Were it Sunrise Cafe, we get biscuits, gravy, and sausage (the gravy on the home fries is sex). If we go to Off Street Cafe, it's the eggs benedict with one of their fresh baked muffins. When Honey's was still open, I'd get the Monte Cristo with fried zucchini. I was in heaven when we were driving up to Seattle and passed through Portland. They have AMAZING brunch places. I got a Scotch egg as a side order to a Dutch baby. Tits. I write all this after having just had one of my dad's homemade turkey sausage patties and overly bitter coffee. Now that's a boner deflater. What are the five closest things to you that you don't think anyone else on the board would own? |

Well, it's great to have you back. I know the toils of working a fucked-up job while also trying to finish school all too well. Here's hoping you were getting paid decently. I was operating on my last years at university on a $75/week stipend for my school's newspaper with indefinite hours. Gah. And yeah, I've been there too in the whole, "I wish I could just walk away from all of this," feeling. But hooray for you sticking with it! |

| Yeah, I finished the first one, started into Bioshock 2 and then just said fuck it and skipped into Infinite.
I just got Elizabeth a chapter or so ago, but fuck.. what is with this being autosave ONLY? It's a bitch because I'll want to sneak in some play here and there before doing shit, just to wander around an area of the game and I can't just save at will before a fight or whatever following a half hour of running around exploring. I wanted to replay a chapter here or there just to look at things I missed in the pre-lottery festival, but to do so would overwrite my latest autosave. FUCK! I'm not too keen on the first aid system here either when I got so used to just medicating myself at will and reloading EVE when I needed it rather than desperately running around searching corpse's pockets for food when I've been shot too much. But enough of the complaints, this is a BEAUTIFUL game. Holy smokes, you can SEE all of the effort, hear all of the voice acting. It's magnificent! And oh my god, your melee weapon is AWESOME!! | There's an old joke...
A boy, an old man, and a donkey were walking together in the desert. They come into a town and the people there saw the three and said, "You have a donkey and you're not using him to carry the boy? No child should have to walk long distances like that." So the boy gets on the donkey and they continue on their way. They get to a second town. The people there cried, "That's so horrible! You make an elderly man walk, while an able-bodied youth rides? You should switch places!" So they do. The old man climbs atop the donkey and they head back on out of town. In the third town they eventually come across, all the people wondered why they BOTH didn't just ride. So the kid climbs up onto the donkey and joins the old man and they ride onto the next town. At this fourth town they enter (which was apparently peopled with PETA members), the townspeople booed and hissed the boy and old man. "How dare you abuse this poor donkey so, making him carry the weight of the two of you!" So the boy and old man dismount and start carrying the donkey. They hobble out of town and continue on like this for some time. Donkeys aren't exactly light so they weren't all that steady in carrying the animal. Anyway, they come to a rope bridge. The boy and old man make it halfway across, whilst still carrying the donkey, before they lose their balance and the donkey ends up thrown off the bridge and plummets into the canyon below.
