Well, I've had several pets die on me, and Harrison was sadly never found, though I had panic attacks for years imagining him being harmed or killed.
In most recent years, though, was the time I was petting Miko and found this gash in her side. I screamed and cried and lost my mind, while holding her and sobbing and applying Neosporin to the odd wound. In the morning, walked with her in a carrier to the local vet, who had a deal of first visit being free, sure in my mind that she was dying and this was something serious. They checked her out and said it was healing on its own. I said thanks and gave Miko a can of tuna all to herself when I got home. (Also, whenever you're in town and you want high tea feel free to hit me up. Depends on how much you want to pay, but it'll be between $22 and $35. 'Less you want to do the Huntington Library, which will cost admission on top of tea.) Have you ever run into someone from your past who didn't recognize you? |

Spoiler:
I do wonder about the Jon-is-a-Targ theory, especially since he burned his hand pretty badly in the first season throwing a lantern at a zombie. Also... Spoiler: How come nobody told me Dany uncontrollably shits herself after riding Drogon?!?!?! ![]() |

I played violin and piano as a kid, but was never very good and never practiced.
I own a guitar (which is really just one of Brandon's), and can only play the intro to "Nothing Else Matters." So, in short, no. I can't play any instruments. When was the last time you took a picture on film? |

Fact: As I've gotten older I have less and less tolerance for crowds, which sucks living in L.A. County, where just about everything cool comes with a fuck-ton of people also wanting to check the thing out. Comic-Con used to be so nice. ![]() |

I'm surrounded by people who seem to cycle in and out of "severe" depression every other week. Seems like they're just willing to accept this is part of their life and they deal with it their own way, and I just step back until they're willing to emerge and we can continue. It's not that I'm unwilling to be there for them, it's just that in most of the cases I've encountered, their behavior is negative attention-seeking.
There's a genuine cry for help, and then there's just a cry for people to pay attention just because they want to be the center of it all. Munchausen's, anyone? I guess, to me, people who are truly depressed tend to not acknowledge it so freely on Facebook and other "look at me" media. They hide it or just go off the radar. It's like how people who are crazy don't know they are. A friend who's depressed needs support, and depression is part of life for all of us at one point or another. Life is suffering, as the Buddha would put it. So to answer the question, it's a case by case basis. I've known a lot of my occasionally depressed acquaintances long enough to know when it's real or not, most of the time. What's a favorite song of yours from middle school that you haven't listened to in a while? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-04-15 01:49 PM) |

Brandon and I saw the first two episodes, and we're hooked. In fact, we're really bummed out waiting for the new one to post. Come on! Come ooooooonnn!!
All of the bitching over casting is pretty damn funny because Vince isn't even one of the detectives. Lots of people were complaining that they should have cast a woman for the detectives. Well, guess the fuck what? One of them IS. Boom. Brandon and I binge-watched "Orange Is The New Black" when it came out, getting it all done in the first three days of its release. Now, we're working through "The Borgias" finally. |

I don't really have experience with either sun lamps or tanning beds. We've got them here, but most people are wary of skin cancer, which we just get sometimes by purely existing in California.
We're expecting another El Nino, but it's only going to really help us out of this severe drought if it causes lots of rain and snow in the northern part of the state. Here's hoping. In the meantime, it's been terribly humid here. My hair is frizzed out and we're all sweating all the livelong day. ![]() |

I'm about to start my sixth cold this year. At least, I imagine it will be, seeing as my lymph nodes suddenly got all swollen and achy midway through yesterday's hike.
It's my own damn fault, really. I was going, "Man, I feel great! I'm not getting all winded and I've got all this energy!" and Life suddenly went, "Oh yeah, bitch?!" |

Brandon and I went and saw "Terminator: Genisys" and it actually didn't suck. In fact, Brandon thinks it's the best movie since T2. I may be inclined to agree. | |||

Well, there's "The Guild" starring Felicia Day, which I liked enough to go out and become an unpaid extra for. Then there's Mega64, of course. Can't really think of any others off the top of my head.
You have friends visiting and it's getting late. Do you let them stay 'til they're ready to leave of their own volition or kick them out? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-06-15 03:21 AM) |

I love holding books and would never forsake paper for a digital format, unless we're talking audio. I'll take any kind of books, so long as it's good. I love graphic novels and those are trade paperbacks. I've been reading lots of hardcovers lately since the books I'm reading are usually new releases. I'm quite partial to a well-worn paperback, though. Yes, long live books.

I always find the failure stories more interesting. Less predictable.
Finished the mercenary book. Good read, though it dragged the last few chapters, but such are memoirs sometimes. Currently in the middle of two books, along with a buttload of graphic novels. The first is "The New World," which is a story about a marriage where every other chapter is from the wife's perspective in the present. The husband died and this group of people harvested his head to cryogenically freeze it and the wife is trying to get it back. The other chapters are from the husband's perspective, living in the future. I'm also reading a book called "Women of Will," about all the ladies in Shakespeare's plays. |

Depends on how I started them. If I saw a dub episode first, I tend to stick with the dub. Same with subtitles. I just like keeping the voices consistent in my head.
Now with live action films and whatnot, I definitely prefer that in whatever language they're speaking. Dubs for those are distracting and usually terrible. Have you ever had a supernatural experience? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-08-15 09:36 AM) |

I always wanted an orca whale or dolphin when I was a kid. The ideal situation for that would be living on the coast with them just coming to visit me whenever I happen to be on the shore.
Otherwise I've always been partial to the idea of keeping a big cat like a domesticated one. Not to get all Princess Jasmine, but I have always wanted a tiger. Hopefully it wouldn't be like my cats and lay on my ass while I work on my laptop, laying in bed. What's something you initially didn't like that eventually grew on you? Hm, cashews would be the easy answer, but I'm also quite fond of pecans, especially when it comes to pecan pie. Trader Joe's makes candied pecans that are pure lust in a bag for me, and the fiber outweighs the sugar content.
What's your favorite TV theme song? |

"Enterprise" has probably the absolute worst theme ever. Pretty easy to despise.
Of the shows I loved, though, I was oddly unimpressed with the one for "Rome." When they did their own theme song power-up moment by playing it when Vorenus goes to save his kids, it just didn't have that punch to it for me. Eh. And this season's theme for "True Detective" is really growing on me, despite so many people hating it. What was your last real stroke of luck? (Last edited by Rogue on 07-09-15 09:59 PM) |

Aww. ![]() Fact: I can correctly answer just about every trivia question there is regarding "King of the Hill." |
