Some AB's had some IRC chat boards implemented in them... if DS or someone can do it I'm all for it. I'm lazy as hell with IRC itself, but I'd be down for a chat here.

I can see the Chat kinda taking away from post count, but then again, it allows for quick smart-assed comments you can't really get hit for when in terms of Spam, so I could be very interested in this, 'specially for quick messages to people that are floating around.

Whats the ETA on something like this?


Also, wtf happened to your main splash page, Xeo? I remember you played around with that years ago, and I rather enjoyed it.

Two choices:
- IRC-style. I could ask Xkeeper which applet he uses on Jul. I'd prefer that.

- Chatbox-style: Requires a bit of coding (extremely easy, though). More or less static. Don't like it much.

Really, IRC is much better IMO. Much more flexible, too (i.e: if the board is down, IRC isn't. You can easily ask, look at the topic, etc)

I'm all for the IRC applet DS if you can get it from Xk or whatever. Though I agree with Kaijin a bit, it's cool to have as long as you guys KEEP POSTING DAY IN AND DAY OUT EVERYDAY!!!

I hopped on the IRC on Jul a few times and I rather enjoyed it, though I don't use it because I'm notoriously shy and I'm still slightly uncomfortable talking with folks in that community... I've been here long enough, however, that I think I'd use it here a ton when it gets implemented so I'm all for the idea.
