Attempting to scan your own items while I'm running the register is not helpful. It's irritating, it's almost insulting, and it's quite likely to result in things getting double- or triple-scanned because this scanner is a piece of shit that you have to be fucking careful with and none of you imbeciles seem to know that.

One of my relatives, Pam, was letting her brother (Wally) and his girlfriend (Angela) stay with her for a while. She has no income currently, and did this purely out of the kindness of her heart - they weren't paying a dime.

Angela was recently caught stealing a package of socks from Pam. This is minor, but important for the following reason:

Angela later accused Pam of stealing from her! Now, keep in mind that these people are about half a step above homeless - they have nothing to steal - and this ingrateful bitch has the nerve to accuse Pam of something she's guilty of!

So you know what? It's a damn good thing that stupid little whore* is thirty-five miles from here. If she was within walking distance, I'd be verbally tearing into her so bad she'd be in physical pain, assuming I didn't knock the shit out of her for being a hypocrite and accusing one of my kindest relatives of a crime - AND CALLING THE FUCKING COPS ON HER! - that she is guilty of.

(* Not a generic insult. She's been sleeping around, or so I hear.)

Do I seem pissed off? I am. This isn't my favorite part of the family, partially because of bullshit like the above, but even for all her faults, Pam doesn't deserve that shit.

Normally, if anything, it'd be video game music. Or maybe something calm on piano. Today pissed me off.

However, the song 18 And Life keeps playing on the CD at work, and I like the song. No YouTube video because it got pulled for a copyright claim or some annoying shit. So instead of having it on Youtube in all its "great" quality, I got it from The Pirate Bay. Way to go, WMG!

It's the one I mentioned in the Songs You're Sick Of Hearing thread that I couldn't hear well enough (but wasn't complaining about); got the first two lines when it was quiet at work tonight and was finally able to find out what song it was.

My biggest problem with all this coverage of Michael Jackson's death is quite simple.

In life, the media made a big deal about all his fuckups. Now they're acting like it's such a big loss and completely ignoring the fuckups.

Now, I'm not going to touch the topic of his misdeeds. I simply hate the hypocrisy in the news coverage and, y'know what? Yeah, I expect that shit from them all the time, but this is just a perfect illustration.

Today, I saw the return of a jackass. He's come in before and complained about being carded (he was old enough, but he still bitched about it), complained about me talking to the customers while I'm ringing up their orders, and today... well.

I was giving him his change and, being tired and naturally clumsy, I slightly missed. Some of it went onto the floor. He accused me of throwing it at him, grabbed it off the floor, and stormed off in a huff, quietly calling me a - note that I am using his exact words here - "fucking faggot" on the way out.

I promptly told him to (exact words again) "stay the hell out". He came back in and shouted across the store at me, as I was on the way back to tell the supervisor on duty about the incident. Apparently he knows the store manager, but so do I - and she's not the type to let her employees take that kind of bullshit. So when she comes back from her vacation, I'll be explaining the incident to her and hopefully getting her approval to enforce the above-mentioned demand to stay the hell out of the store.

So, yeah. Fuck that jackass.
