Seriously though, this is disgusting. I don't care if it's in the deep south, or the state that just recently got around to officially ratifying the 13th Amendment... this is disgusting and wrong. Now, I don't know if the guy they arrested is guilty of the murder or just grand theft auto, but I want the person that did it to be caught and seriously punished. People need to know, especially in a hotbed of racism and bigotry like Mississippi, that this kind of behavior is NOT okay. |

| Not much spoilerish on them really. They are more of a "mentioned in passing for history" kinda house. Here is what I pulled off the wikis that has no spoilers.
House Mallister of Seagard is a vassal house that holds fealty to House Tully of Riverrun. Their lands are north of Riverrun, along the coast of Ironman's Bay and south-west of the Twins. The Mallisters are longstanding enemies of the Ironborn; Seagard was built as a defense against marauders from the Iron Islands. In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, House Mallister is one of House Tully's most loyal vassals. Lord Jason Mallister is noted as both a loyal vassal and also a close personal friend and ally of Lord Hoster Tully (Cat's father). During the Greyjoy Rebellion, the Mallisters defended Seagard from an ironborn assault. Whilst the town and castle were damaged and severe casualties incurred, the ironborn suffered significant losses, with Lord Jason slaying Rodrik Greyjoy (Theon's oldest brother, I think) in personal combat. And Lord Jason's uncle Denys is in the Night's Watch and commands the Shadow Tower... I think that gets mentioned like once in the first novel. |

| We have well water here so a purifier is pretty much required, and water is SO good when you are thirsty.
Of course, so is tea... and coffee. Since I started this low carb thing, that is pretty much all I am allowed to drink for awhile (though I still cheat and have juice now and then... damn sugar.) |

| I used to like Voss, but then they started only selling distilled water (why anyone would drink that, I don't know).
All I know is that the well water here sucks. Best water I ever had came from a ground pump at Independence Rock in Wyoming... it was crisp, super ice cold spring water in the middle of July. I can still taste it fifteen years later. |

| Marriage is not a religious term, actually. It is associated with religion because of the many cultures that had religion as part of the government (Rome, Medieval Europe, etc). I think Katana mentioned on Facebook that the Catholic church draws a distinction between Marriage and Matrimony... maybe that is what you are thinking of?
Regardless, I think my opinions on the subject are widely known. I just hope the Supreme Court can see past all the bigotry and do the right thing. |
