| First off because I'd rather have a slight impact on todays society, rather than having a corrupt politician decide who gets elected. Besides, a lot of good qualified people would never be put into office if only because they aren't all that famous.
Now, on Elara's comments. I watch the debates. A lot of people watch them. However, what about those that don't have TV and vote? What about those who merely read the article about what happened rather than watching it? What about those people who don't really pay attention to whoever they are voting for in the first place? Anyway, to be honest, if people refuse to take a test to vote, good riddance. IF they fail the test, then that proves they don't know about who they are voting for. Good riddance. As for that comment about how it was used against the blacks, my suggestion is that you get 80% right or more. The questions would be multiple choice, and a computer examines the answers. The test would have no questions about race, party, credit score, or anything like that. Besides that, a computer isn't prejudice, it wouldn't care. Finally, on Logos' comments on knowledge, allow me to define what I mean as knowledge, so that this doesn't turn into a debate over the definition of a word.
This test would be on how well aquaintedd the voter is with these said facts. No more comments on what knowledge is is neccesary, and this is how I define it, as according to dictionary.com. |

Ideas as to how to do this were already going through his mind. A taser possibly, triggered by remote rather thanby the usual trigger. That would be the simplest option, though if an enemy got his hands on the remote... |

The taser will last for a shorter period, but can also be used more than once. The poison would only be used once, but will knock him out for a while."

| Okay, I'll use examples from the last election. Some(but not all) of the questions would go like this:
What is Kerry's position on tax reform? (a) tax the poor more (b) tax the rich more (c) increase sales tax (d) none of the above What is George W. Bush's supposed plan for the war one terror? (a) Attack anyone who opposes us. (b) Make friends with everyone! (c) Try and negotiate, if the negotiations fail, go to war. (d) none of the above. If anyone doesn't know questions like these, or what's discusssed on the debates, then they aren't doing anything other than voting blindly. It would be like walking on a narrow an curved path with a blindfold, unless they know where they're going or what they're doing, they'll fall. And this is a democratic republic by the way, electing the officials is the republic part. Democracy is making every law by popular vote, where republic is electing officials to make those laws. Our government allows citizens to vote on some things, like bonds a few years ago in my state. |

Harry turned and walked towards the armory. He looked on the shelves for a taser, and some unfinished metallic leg armor. He had chosen the leg because that would be the least likely to get in the way. Assuming that Shane did not where really tight pants, then it would be the best working location. He also found three metalic strips, and several tasers, which would attatch to the plates. He pulled from his pocket a container of his own personal screws. | This movie was...strange. But I liked it. The miniature penguins were great, Robin Williams was awesome, and I loved the aliens. Although, there were two things...
First off, why did his feathers look so different from everyone elses? He was the same age, and could do the same things, why were they different. And of course, why on earth didn't they computer animate the humans? It didn't fit in the whole visual style to have real humans inside an animated world. |

| ooc: As this is a 2vs1 fight, the rules are going to be a bit lose. Don't openly disobey them, but you can stretch them if you want.
ic: Ares smiled, giant sword in hand. This sword was longer than any humans were tall, it was thirty feet long, only five feet over half Ares' height. He swung his sword, smashing a building next to him. There were two humans, humans who lived in this city, humans who he wished to kill. It was an older town, one in greece. There were no cliffs nearby, but there were many buildings, many people to kill. This would be fun. His armor glowed in the afternoon light, reflecting the sun perfectly. The armor had been highly polished before this battle, though if he was fortunate, he would need to wash off his enemy's blood. He spoke in a booming voice, "Is there any who would challenge me?" The entire city heard him, people running off in a panic. EDIT: FX, it would be preferable if you didn't do this, no offense, but I'd rather fight more active people. | He held up the leg armor. "This is going onto your lower leg, right above the ankle, with the taser attached. This metal will increase the taser's potential, making it more potent, so that even if you will have magic you'll lose a leg." He pulled out some measuring tape and rolled it around Shane's leg in one spot. "Ordinarily this armor would stop electricity through a type of mesh right under your leg, but this armor is going right onto the skin."
He measured another spot. "However, so that you won't have your skin damaged with this, I will be putting in a type of cloth, with metallic threads, making it so that none of the potency is lost." He measured in a third spot, then grabbed the front plated of some of the armor. "I will somewhat alter the taser so that through screws, it will be attatched." He chose the three strips of metal, and grabbed the taser. "The charger will be near the top of the armor, attached through one of these three metalic strips." He place the metal armor on Shane's leg, nodded, and took it off. He then pulled out a screwdriver and started messing with the taser. "Any questions?" |
