Name: Holly Marina Age: 18 (editing the age...16 was too young.  )
Faction: Not an official faction, but Holly is part of a group of people that focus on searching for and figuring out the Phantom Shards. It is still a very small group of people and while they are not exactly with any of the three main factions, they are not exactly against them either. They work on their own as a sort of vigilante group. Shards: Holly holds only one shard in her posession and it contains a power that she has not been able to master just yet. However, it seems to activate on its own when she encounters any extreme danger, forming some sort of shield around her and whoever else she may pull into it along with her. She keeps this shard hooked on a bracelet on her right wrist. Weapons: Holly doesn't carry any weapons with her, but relies on her agility and martial arts skills. Physical Appearance: While her skin tone is pale, her eyes are a shade of dark blue and her straight black hair hangs down about her waist. She stands at about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs in at 110 pounds. She wears a snug fitting, long sleeved black shirt that displays a little bit of her shoulders and is slightly low cut. Her jeans are a dark blue and are also a bit snug fitting and she wears black boots that rise only to her ankle. Suprisingly, her attire only makes her look more elegant, rather than something for others to gawk at. Background: Holly was also the product of a military family. While her mother was simply the military wife, who stayed at home and lived where ever her husband was sent to, it was Holly's father who ran the show. Before becoming a part of the Marinae Faction, along with her mother and herself, Holly's father was a United States Marine. He quickly climbed the ranks in the military and as he did so, grew all the more overbearing and strict. He expected a lot of Holly and she was always punished for not meeting her father's expectations, along with having his views and the Marinae faction shoved down her throat. Not long after the meteor hit, Holly's mother died and her father only grew worse. While he wasn't exactly a bad man, he wasn't someone Holly enjoyed being around either. Being as she was like her mother in nearly every aspect, both physically and personality wise, her father became more strict and over protective. This, of course, caused Holly to rebell against her father and remove herself from him as much as she could. When her mother passed away, she left Holly a shard. The shard wasn't activated and Holly didn't think it could be, being as it had been in her mother's posession for so long. But, upon placing her hands on it, the shard roared to life for Holly. However, she couldn't seem to figure out just how to use it. It didn't seem to work for her as it did others, and she had next to no control over it. Her father, on the other hand, tried getting her to release the shard to him many times, thus drawing Holly's interest to it even moreso. Unknown to her father, Holly found a way to train in the martial arts and just before she turned 16, she decided to break from her father and the Marinae faction and pursue her goals to find out how to work her own shard and seek the Phantom Shards that she had heard so much about. From my dad's wedding...I'm the weird-looking one with the dark hair of course. Gosh...I never seem to look like myself when all dressed up either...and I still had my heels on....so that made me a lot taller than my sister.

| A series between 1 and 2 would be better...blah blah blah...yeah. I agree with all of that, so I'm not going to repeat it. However, I think this is worth a shot though. I'd give it a shot, watch a few episodes and then tear it apart with criticism. |

As Holly peered down at Joshias' shard, it seemed to react more when he held it in one direction, as opposed to all the others. However, she didn't like where it was leading them. "Figures, the damned thing leads us to all the commotion..." Holly commented nonchalantly as she tugged on her partner's arm to get him to move into the direction in which his shard directed them. Upon closer inspection, Holly could see a group of men standing outside of a few tents. Among them were a bunch of others on motorcycles. "Great." She muttered to herself and continued cursing under her breath. She beckoned Joshias toward her, but also placed a finger gingerly to her lips, letting him know to keep as quiet as he could. Slowly, Holly made her way toward the scene. Once she was within hearing distance, she spotted a few crates and crouched behind them. |

Though I actually like Nicholas Cage, and this movie looks pretty sweet...I really can't see Cage playing a superhero...**shrugs** So I'll have to fight to get past that (Or maybe I won't, depends on how awesome the movie is), then I'm sure I'd be fine.
And since Faceoff was brought up, I must say that movie kicked ass.  |

| Hmmm...I personally don't own any television series on DVD (then again, I don't personally own much. ) but one of my older sisters goes nuts with them...She has Alias, Charmed, Gilmore Girls, 24, and some others. I know she doesn't have the whole set for all of them, but I think that's because they're still comming out with them? **shrugs** I'm not too sure.
All I know is I happen to enjoy those shows as well, so naturally I've bummed them off her. |

| Hmmm...I dunno...I think I would have been classified as "nun-like" rather than straight-edge. There used to be so much that I was extremely against. One thing I will NEVER do, however, is smoke. It would just be really retarded on my part. I'm not so allergic to cigarretts that should someone even open the box and I'm already going into attacks, but I do break out and go into asthma attacks if I'm in a car, someone is smoking and no one rolls down windows, or I'm in a room and more than two people are smoking. So yeah...wouldn't smoke. Not breathing isn't fun.
Drugs, well, I don't even take too much medicine for the matter (I only take it when I really need it...therefore, as a result, I require much smaller doses than the usual for my age and size, and they work much faster and last much longer for me.) and other illegal drugs...never tried them and I never will. I'm very fortunate in that respect, I guess. Drinking and sex...well...my thoughts are altering ever-so-slightly. |

I hear you on the other stuff too. That's pretty cool that you and your co-workers all have that respect for one another. I mean, on both ends, even the smoker, it's only right. Like, I'll sit here 'til I'm blue saying how bad I think smoking is...but if people pay attention, I never once say the person is a bad person simply because they smoke. So yeah. And I hear you on the black lungs too...my mom smoked while she was pregnant with me and a lot around me when I was a baby...which is why I think even though I don't technically have asthma, I do have certain difficulties.  |

| Hmmmm....I dun think the newbie thread should be the return thread...cuz to be honest...when I see new names, I take a look at the newbie thread and read all the posts from the last one I read 'til the end at that point. However, when I see a name a recognize there, I don't really open up the forum, cuz I can pretty much assume that the post is just someone welcoming the new member.
I do agree with the thought of a return thread though. Seems practical to have one now, with the newb thread. |
