BIC: Holly smiled at Eric as he entered and then closed the door softly behind her. The room was lit up by Jeremy's contraption. She was partially relieved. Something about sleeping in complete darkness had bothered her since she was a small child. She couldn't put her finger on why. It was something that just did. She spotted Seifer out of the corner of her eye as he was gazing out the window. She walked over and stood next to him. "The sun went down, but it's still pretty cool" She says. "I've mostly lived in cities, so things such as seeing the stars this clearly are rare."

Holly looked over at Leon as he spproached Seifer and offered a duel. She poked Seifer in the ribs and then smiled at Leon.

"Maybe you two should mess around tomorrow instead?" She then looked at Seifer. "I've noticed that you have healed considerably since having it out with Josiah...so I don't think you'll need much longer." She then turned back to Leon and took a few steps closer to him. "Besides, I'm sure you'd want Seifer to be at his very best...however..." She gingerly touched the flat side of his sword. "If you felt up to it, I wouldn't mind learning a thing or two...from the both of you." She added, looking up at Leon with her dark blue eyes and a smile.

A blast of heat and skined knees,

so the summer went. A bustling avenue with houses close together, a sight familiar to a girl of eleven. Streets crowded with cars and a small store at almost every corner may not seem special to anyone else. But I, a girl of eleven, fell in love with the sight, fell in love with that summer, fell in love with life. Two friends of eleven years, and a dog of three. Oh how wonderful that time was! Inseparable we were, the three of us, not even a change in distance could reform our love for each other. The feeling of that summer we would never outgrow. The weather grows colder and the night lasts longer another year has come and gone, but I, a girl of fourteen take one look at my friend and smile, for we have overcome one hurtle and have moved on to the next. We look to the pile of gray and white, now of six, as he lifts his head and falls back to sleep. The sun fades and the moon shines, time passes more quickly than we thought. And so we stand, she and I, saying a final goodbye to what we loved most, but we, women of eighteen, must move on. A blast of heat and skinned knees, so the summer begins. Holly glanced back from Seifer to Leon. She was glad that Seifer had turned down Leon's offer. He was healing fast...but still not back to his usual self just yet. She was not concerned about them dueling in the least, however. They were friends and both good fighters...but that was just it. Holly was very interested in seeing the two of them train, provided they would let her watch.

For once, she didn't have anything to say...that is, until Brad spoke up. She turned toward his direction and listened to him carefully. "You have a point there, Mr. Desin. Pending on the power of one's shard, a sword may be futile...however..." She then walked across the room so that she was closer. "There are tons of ways to disarm a man with a gun. I am not saying that guns are useless...but I'd say there is just as much of a chance that someone can disarm you as there is of you getting to them first. It all depends on the situation." She shruged. "I could demonstrate if you'd like."

Holly eyed Leon for a moment as he challenged Brad.

"Now now children...don't turn this into a battle of egos..." She murmurs. "Mr. Desin, I didn't mean any insult, so please don't take it as such..." She then faced Leon and Seifer and headed back over to them. "Yes, I'd like to learn a thing or two from you boys." She looked over at Leon with a raised eyebrow. "However, if I am refered to as "little lady" again, I'll have to castrate you." Her voice took on a playful tone as she made her last comment and for a fleeting moment, had stuck her tongue out at both Leon and Seifer.

Suddenly, it hit her like a ton of bricks. Holly placed a hand over her mouth as she yawned. As she walked over to Seifer, she felt as though her body weighed a ton. She placed her forehead against Seifer's arm and closed her eyes. Another thing she had never outgrown. Since a young girl, sleep never slowly fixed itself upon her. It all happened quickly and she never could keep herself awake once she got to that point. "We'll worry about the house tomorrow..." She mumbled. (restricted) |

Quite ironic though...I was approached by a very old friend I used to play ice hockey with. He goes to my school and said that he had seen me around a lot, just never had the guts to talk to me. I can't see why, we were uber good friends. He moved to another state, and is now back apparently, but still...:p
The way he described how he felt, trying to talk to me, but then not going through with it... Coming from the opposite perspective...please talk to her. You have no idea how happy I am that he had spoke to me, because to be honest, I didn't see him...so we may have missed each other.(Last edited by Katana on 01-25-07 04:23 AM)

Nothing wrong with being depressed. I was in a similiar position. At the end of my Freshman year of high school, the guy who ran the plays told me that he was trying to get the rights for "The Wizard of Oz" and that he was reserving the part of Dorothy for me if I was still interested. He basically said he wanted me to play her cuz he said I was plain looking. |
If he was serious, he didn't mean it in a bad way, so whatever...but it was going to take a few years for him to get the money together to pay for it. Woulda been the last play of our senior year. Long story short, he had to leave our school and other people took his place. One of the main people in charge is a woman who hates me. Why? Because she taught all my sisters in high school and automatically assumed that I was evil like them. (She did quite a few awful things my senior year...I lost a few scholarships as a result)
In the end, the play I graduated on was "Beauty and the Beast", which was freaking SPECTACULAR...everyone did extremely well in it. I, however, quit way before then because of similar circumstances that you are now experiencing. Stick with it. Quitting the plays is one of my only regrets from high school. It sucks that things didn't go your way, and apparently you worked hard for it...but you'll get over the way you're feeling. I went from being excited about a cool part to being shoved into two scenes...but I got over it. Nothing wrong with being depressed, but it'll pass. Just don't quit. I know you didn't mention anything about quitting, but just in case you were thinking it. :p

After a few moments, Holly pulled herself back and stood up straight. She looked up at Seifer and tilted her head to the side. "You've been awfully quiet lately..." She says softly, with a bit of a yawn as her voice trailed off at the end of her sentence. She then gently rubbed her eyes for a few seconds before turning to face the rest of the living room. Some floor space and the couches were already taken. The room was now pretty warm, thanks to Jeremy...so the only thing she would have a problem with was already taken care of. Holly could sleep anywhere, so pillows and floors weren't an issue. She spotted empty floor space in front of the couch Leon had claimed, made her way over to it and floped down.

Holly was snapped out of her semi-conscious state when she heard the noise coming from the upstairs. She sat upright, taking her weight off of the couch that she was leaning on and saw Seifer coming down the stairs. She smiled and nodded a 'thank you' as she received a blanket and a pillow. She glanced about the room one more time to see if anyone else had fallen asleep yet. When her eyes fell upon Seifer, she raised an eyebrow. Without saying a word, she dropped the pillow he had just given her on his head. She flashed him a grin as she went back to her original spot. She fluffed up the blanket so that it could act as a pillow and within seconds, she was out cold. |

Holly slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she heard was Leon's voice. It took a few moments, but once her dark blue eyes managed to focus themselves, they widened slightly. All those scars... she thought for a moment before her memory kicked in. She had seen some of them before just after Leon's fight with Josiah.

"Merh..." She grumbled as she tried getting to her feet. That didn't work out so well. Somehow, during the course of the night, Holly had managed to entangle herself in the blanket and was now tripping over it as she tried to get up. She looked up at Leon and smiled sheepishly, as she removed the blanket from her and stood up. Almost everyone else had begun to stir, if not already awake. She was brushing the wrinkles out of her clothes when she realized that she had fallen asleep with her boots on. Not like I haven't done that before... she thought to herself as she now moved on to combing through her long, straight black hair with her fingers. She then glanced over at Seifer as he spoke and nodded. "Steak and potatoes...got it." She announced as she caught sight of Eric and walked over to him. "Let me help with that." She says, as she takes the plates off of him, holding then with both hands. "What are we going to do about Henry, anyway?"

It's not like I was talking about him in a bad way..." Her voice trailed off. She didn't want to admit that his well-being was on the top of her mind.
