Heh, it amazes me what people were pissed off about in terms of what was cut from the movies. Granted I understand getting pissed about neglecting mention of who created the Marauder's Map, but a run-in with Malfoy here, a scene that wouldn't have furthered the story/plot? Aside from the "die-hard" fans, who cares really?

It's already been proven when people complain about things missing from LOTR that the movies are already 2 and 1/2+ hours long each, would you like real-time action too in which you see every second of the characters' lives?

Sorry, it's just were some things I understood people were annoyed about and other things that just sounded like mindless nitpicking to me. One fan to another...

You know... I was half expecting someone to come in here and write, "Hairy and the left one hangs a little lower."

Used to have one that was blue, green, with black and red patterns on it. Didn't play much and when I did, looked really stupid.

When it comes to shoes, I more often wear flip flops/sandals or my low-top Converse with no socks. They have little yellow bunnies and pink chipmunks dying on the shoelaces.. big fan of Happy Tree Friends.

Used to wear a lot of different kinds of shoes. Docs and such.

I'm voting for the knight seeing as it's the one piece that can get the queen or even check the king before anyone has a chance to do anything about it.

It's tricky and can do things the other pieces can't. Gotta love that.

It's so befitting, though, that James Bond was often tagged as the "white knight."

HAHAHAHAHA!! I never thought about that... I guess I'm just so used to what the plug-suits look like.

On that same token, I showed a friend of mine the concept art for the live action Evangelion film and she smirked and said the plug-suits drew attention to and even heightened the appearance of camel toe.

Hmm...

Anyway, back on topic... haven't seen or heard of this "magic defemce" thing, but I'm sure if anything Xeo, or maybe even Randy, can answer that.

Posted on 06-18-05 03:55 AM, in TEST YOUR MORALITY Link
This test only has one question, but it's a very
important one. By giving an honest answer, you will
discover where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional
situation in which you will have to make a decision.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet
spontaneous.

You are in Florida, Miami to be specific. There is
chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with
severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical
proportions. You are a photojournalist working for a
major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of
this epic disaster. The situation is nearly
hopeless. You're trying to shoot career-making
photos. There are houses and people swirling around
you, some disappearing under the water. Nature is
unleashing all of its destructive fury.
Suddenly you see a man floundering in the water. He
is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken
down with the debris. You move closer . . . somehow
the man looks familiar. You suddenly realize who it
is. It's George W. Bush! At the same time you notice
that the raging waters are about to pull him under.

You have two options: you can save the
life of G.W. Bush or you can shoot a dramatic
Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death
of one of the world's most powerful men.
So here's the question, and please give an honest
answer :

Would you select high contrast color film, or would
you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

But did you happen to see the question below the massive paragraph that reads:

For me there's too much to know for sure. I have SO frikkin' MANY CD's, records, casettes, and even 8-track tapes scattered all over the house. Not counting all the ones loaned out and the discs just sitting around filled the max with mp3s.

When it comes to music on my computer, I used to have near 20 gigs of mp3s, videos, rips from CDs, and whatnot, but my drive was wiped, so I'm down to about 5 gigs worth and building up again.

Posted on 06-20-05 10:58 AM, in The Death Penalty Link
It's funny you should say that Jin, because laughing about people who can't remain consistent is one of my ways of getting a kick out of life. Incidentally I'm a pro-choicer with a somewhat more conservative view on the death penalty.

You know what I find even more hilarious? When people are against the death penalty and suddenly when someone they love is ruthlessly killed, this person begins to seek vengence. They want the killer to suffer... to die... hell, they even start to boast of things they'd like to do to this person in a dark room with a set of pliers. Tisk, tisk, tisk.

I personally don't care. I'm not going to protest it. I see nothing seriously wrong with it. It's mostly a matter of principle.

What I wouldn't mind seeing is if a family loses their loved one and the jury finds him guilty, they give the option of death to the family. Yes, I know it's partial, but this is your chance to see if you can, in your heart, forgive and pity a killer... or simply bring the wrath of God down.

I should also mention a case that was presented in an issue of Hustler. A rapist was sent to prison after having been convicted for raping and beheading something over 20 children. One night, a few doors were just mysteriously left unlocked in the prison. They found him mostly decapitated (head was still dangling by some skin and muscle) and a broken off broom stick up his ass. And no one had made an attempt to escape the prison...

Saw the trailer two weeks ago and thought it was pretty awesome. Normally I flip over these movies because there's so much more that could have been done.

Looks like they got all the original cast for it, except for Mimi and Joanne. Mimi to be played by Rosario Dawson.

I'm pleased to see many of the same costumes and the songs are done the same.

If we wanna talk experience with this operetta, I've memorized the songs and everything since I was in elementary school and my theater friends and I would sing as much of it as we could during lunch. I've collected various pieces of the memorabilia, seen tapes of performances, and for the longest time carried on in various fan groups for it. Physically saw it in a theater for the first time a year ago. Truly it was like being a fan of a movie star and getting to meet them years down the line.

The only thing I have doubts about are the psuedo-fans that'll come from this. Jesus Christ there'll be a lot. It's like when I was a fan of Chicago, had seen it so many times, and then the movie came out and suddenly everyone's a Fosse fan. Jeepers....

Hehe, my friend, Andew, said he'd take the opportunity to throw rocks at him and laugh between shots.

I personally would shoot everything in digital. It's just better and you can get both... and sepia too.

OK, here's a question. Why isn't this in help and suggestions and why are these "rants" jumbled together?

Both are valid arguments, but probably better suited apart and in different places.

In keeping with the topic, there are definitely too many freakin' crime shows. As I was reading which shows have had their contracts cancelled or renewed for next season. There were 3 different Law & Orders and 3 different CSIs that all were having their contracts renewed. Not to mention all of those ones that I've never watched and have only heard of once in a while... Cold Case, Third Watch, etc.
