Brandon and I just completed the mission of eating the food of the Axis Powers. Had German on Friday (went to Oktoberfest), had Japanese last night (all you can eat sushi for friend's birthday party/dinner), and just to complete it went out and got Italian for lunch.

My history teacher posted the grades for our latest exam. I got a 99.5 out of 100. Sweet.

Drove on a gravity hill today. Put the car in neutral and the car rolls "up the hill."

That's a really hard one to pick as I have several TOP favorites--Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Kung Fu Hustle, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Harold and Maude, Battle Royale, Cannibal: The Musical!, Kill Bill Vol. 1, and Grindhouse (there's probably several that haven't come to me straight off but I'll remember them later).

Of those I've seen the in a theater...
Hedwig: 2 (when it came out and once with a shadowcast)
Kung Fu Hustle: 0
R&G are Dead: 0
Harold and Maude: 0
Battle Royale: 0
Cannibal: 0
Kill Bill Vol. 1: 5
Grindhouse: 2 (both at the drive-in)

One of them came out before I was born and two of them didn't have American releases (when KFH did, but I had a copy of it from when it came out in China and the English-dubbing, from what I'd seen at the time was TERRIBLE).

Ironically the one movie I've seen more than 100 times in a theater (Rocky Horror Picture Show) doesn't rank among my top favs.

Socialite and presumed trophy wife Margaret Tabitha Ashbury glanced over at the mutilated form that was her husband.

Her mascara had streaked down her cheeks, collecting with her salty tears along her jawline. She'd had to cope almost instantly to Preston Ashbury's sudden...
departure.

To be frank, Margaret hadn't shed her tears out of love and loss of Preston Ashbury, but rather the damage of her Ralph Lauren original coat, now splattered with Preston's blood and entrails.

They were arm candy for one another and nothing more--a marriage of convenience between two powerful families. Not to mention Preston's flaming homosexuality.

Well, c'est la vie.

Margaret removed her wedding ring--a solid, white gold number with a 5-carat Marquise cut diamond nestled among alexandrite and sapphire chips--placed it in Preston's breast pocket (or what was left of it), unbuckled herself from the seat, and fell in with the other survivors.

A typical sandwich you can get in Caracas, Venezuela, La Diabla. How it's made according to the video: ketchup, mayo, mustard, onions, cabbage, shoestring potatoes, more ketchup, mayo and mustard, avocado, tomato, burger patty, chorizo, chicken, eggs and bacon, and a mountain of shredded Roquefort cheese.

I wants me one. I didn't last night when I first saw this since I'd just had dinner, but now that I'm running on empty I think a few of my arteries just clogged in giddiness just watching the video again.

Don't know about the eggs though. Chicken and eggs together has just always been gross to me.

At this point it's just been considered "common knowledge," especially since a lot of us saw Cloverfield when it came out and that was one of the standard trailers that accompanied it.

I'm just waiting 'til they come out with a longer, more expansive trailer.

I'll take Patrick. He goes along with anything while not causing as much trouble as Spongebob. In the end, in real life, Brandon is Patrick to my Spongebob.

Who was the last person you ran into from high school? Were you happy to see them or would you rather you tried to hide and missed them completely?

CSI. They seem to grow weaker as they go down the line. Miami's just downright terrible at times.

Have you ever cooked something for yourself that was turning out pretty great, then adding an ingredient you thought would make it even better (cheese, cinnamon, salt, vanilla extract, peanut butter, etc) and ended up completely ruining it?

*I just now tried putting some cinnamon in my apple sauce, the container dropped a mountain on top and rendered the whole damn batch inedible.

I just finished Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America (by Barbara Ehrenreich) for my American studies class.

Pretty much this journalist decides to try out what it's like to be entering the work force after theoretically losing welfare benefits and/or getting a divorce just to see if she could make ends meet, like normal working class people do, on little to no education, and on a maid, waitress, or Wal*mart employee's salary.

She failed every time, despite having her own car, no children, and $1300 of her own money set aside to work off of when she needed anything. She also broke character several times.

Right now I'm reading With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa (by E.B. Sledge) which is a memoir about being a marine in World War 2. Reading it for history.

After that I've got Tortilla Curtain (by T.C. Boyle) for American studies.

More times than I can count.

Sometimes you just don't have any and REALLY need to do the wash, but you and/or the people you live with are too lazy to do it.

Well my mom's got plants she's had since we moved into our house 22 years ago, but they're all in the ground. She's got a few on the porch and on the kitchen windowsill and several in pots on the back patio, but as for plants I've kept personally, I think the longest running was an orange poppy that I kept in a pot next to my window, in my room, for about 2 weeks.

I've grown things in the front and backyard, but I usually just forgot about them over time and my mom took over on them.

So news was spreading like wild fire that this McCain campaign volunteer went down to the ATM and was mugged for $60. Apparently the mugger noticed her McCain bumper sticker, turned back proclaiming he was going to "teach her a lesson" and proceeded to beat her and carved a B onto her face.

As it turns out, it's all BULLSHIT.

Article: http://kdka.com/local/attack.McCain.Bloomfield.2.847628.html

Police: Campaign Volunteer Lied, Injured Self
Ashley Todd told investigators today she "just wanted to tell the truth" -- and was neither robbed, nor attacked. Todd, 20, is now facing charges for filing a false report to police

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Police say a campaign volunteer confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter B in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker; now she's facing charges.

At a news conference this afternoon, officials said they believe that Ashley Todd's injuries were self-inflicted.

Todd, 20, of Texas, is now facing charges for filing a false report to police.

Todd initially told police that she was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield and that the suspect began beating her after seeing her GOP sticker on her car.

Police investigating the alleged attack, however, began to notice some inconsistencies in her story and administered a polygraph test.

Investigators asked Todd to return to the police station today for more questioning and to help them release a composite sketch of the suspect.

When she did, police say she admitted that she made the whole thing up and that it snowballed out of control.

Todd told investigators today that she "just wanted to tell the truth" – adding that she was neither robbed, nor attacked.

"She indicated that she has prior mental problems and that she does not remember how the backward letter B got on her face," Pittsburgh Police Spokeswoman Diane Richard told reporters today.

Todd told police that while she did not remember how the backward "B" got on her face, she may have done it herself since she was the only one in the car.

According to police, Todd said she thought of Barack Obama when she saw the "B" in her rearview mirror.

Officials say they do not believe any other people were involved; and Todd's friends believed the story about the attack – encouraging her to call police.

EDIT: Some of the tell-tale signs that was lying included that she later claimed to have been sexually assaulted as well.

I'm sure there are much more dire times I've made that face, but the one that comes to mind the more quickly is when Brandon, my boyfriend, was puking his guts out at a toga party (while we were in Vegas for a Rocky Horror convention), and I ended up having to take care of him throughout the party.

It gets a bit TMI, so I'll stop it right there. Just trust me, it took a lot of courage.

Good grief.

Well, I agree that the bumper sticker pulls a red herring argument for its point, but it's still your freedom of speech to put it on YOUR car.

This seriously doesn't surprise me, though, as there's been a rise in Prop 8 sign destruction on both sides.

I go to school in Orange County, which has a tendency to drift right (since the O.C. is filled with wealthy WASPs whom those who've been born to wealth often call "new money"), we're constantly hearing stories about those flimsy, plastic "YES on Prop 8" signs getting cut up and graffitied on. This guy built a small structure to house his.

To be honest, I've wanted to destroy the three YES signs in my neighborhood, especially with how two of them are technically on city property, but again, it's their freedom of speech to put it up as much as I disagree.

I want to put up something like "Fuck bigotry, Vote NO" or something like that in my room windows (second story, face the street). What'd really be funny is for the first time the lesbian next door would probably not complain about something I have or did.
