| My grades are starting to come in. So far 3 Bs and a C. Still waiting on the broadcast class which will be either an A or a B. Pretty much looking at a 3.0 this semester.
It was a pretty tough semester, but damn it, I earned some time off. |

Honestly, though, I go to conventions all the time (going to one tomorrow, WOO!), and I see guys throwing all kinds of cash down for figures. And yes, $20 is CHEAP. In other words, you don't have to try to find validation here. We get it. |

| I can't sleep past 8 a.m. on most days and in the last year I've been falling asleep around 3 or 4 a.m.
I think I'm broken.
I don't know, really. I just can't oversleep and my body acts like it gets enough although my head is really weird (dizzy at random times, etc). |

| So, we're reaching this really odd point in our lives where when a celebrity dies we're actually able to identify in our minds who they were, why people are sad, and in some ways it strikes us with this random feeling of shock as though we'd just talked with them this morning, and they seemed fine, and oh my GOD?! What kind of a world do we live in?!?!?!?! Not Paul Gray, NOOOOOO!!!!
Anyway... Gary Coleman passed away yesterday after being taken off life support. News reports were pouring in and Facebook was spammed with thousands of RIP messages for the fallen actor. Today, Dennis Hopper was claimed by prostate cancer. I feel really surreal about his passing in that a week ago, to the hour almost, I was discussing him with my boyfriend on if Dennis was dead or not. I had remembered his name being in the news for something and we had just watched "Speed." With much respect for the departed, what are your thoughts? |

| I will say this now... "Avatar" was boring. I watched it on an HD TV on BluRay, and I ooh'd and aah'd with everyone else on the sheer crispness and detail, but after a while it was like watching a really pretty cartoon.
Now, "Avatar" was not bad. I did like it, and I've loved several James Cameron movies in the past (particularly "Terminator 2"). "Titanic" had a rather crappy storyline, but at the time it had top of the line effects and people came just to see that. Recycled or not, I'd rather see his work with a story than just a reel of test animation any day. |

| All right, let's open the can of worms.
What are your thoughts on Arizona's approach to illegal immigration? If officers have just cause to ask for your citizenship documents, you have to provide them or explain that you can have them brought from home, etc. Some people are saying this is a violation of rights, that it's xenophobic, and that it's trampling on the framework of the U.S. Constitution. While comparing the government to Nazi Germany, many boycott Arizona's sport teams and products (despite them being made or owned by companies in New York). Others say it's a proactive approach to dealing with people who are in this country illegally and argue that it's a state's right to make such a law. What are your thoughts? |
