Finished the first volume of "Bitch Planet," a graphic novel which came heavily recommended. It was okay.

Currently reading Mark Twain's book, "Is Shakespeare Dead?" which goes over his lack of faith in the belief that the man from Stratford wrote the plays. He's not quite a Baconian, but he lays down all his evidence that it couldn't possibly have been written by the poor Irishman with no education or worldly experience.

We listened to the audiobook for "The Martian." That was good. The movie leaves out a lot, but it was still good.

This past week back at my old place was so great. There were a couple low moments, but they were nothing compared to the past month I spent in hell.

Apparently my co-workers kept hearing from my old boss how hard it was to get me back, and I was frequently referred to as "the hostage."

I know nothing of ROM hacking, so I'm completely useless adding to that conversation. Sorry, Cammy!

Fuck you, manager at the restaurant which my clients and I work on certain days. My co-worker went and ordered my clients' meals when there weren't other customers yet (my co-worker actually complained about the employee who put it in being inept, to begin with.)

After nearly 30 minutes went by and they hadn't received their food, I noticed on the order screens in the kitchen that they didn't put their orders through and when I started to ask the manager about it, she shouted at me to give them a second because food comes out in the order it's placed. When the waitress arrived with it, she just threw it down in front of the wrong people and didn't even give them spoons for their soup.

Any and all reading counts, Cammy.

Finished the Twain book, and moved onto a post-apocalyptic novel called "Station Eleven." Getting through it pretty quickly. Granted the library sent me a large-print edition.

The trailer's been getting around for a bit, and since I'm actually quite interested, figured I'd share this here.

Even if it ends up lacking in substance, it still looks enjoyable to me. Thoughts?

Since my life pretty much sucked during the work week for the past month or so, I pretty much went through the weekends with this complete voracious need to get out of the house the whole time.

Last week, packed the days with running to museums. Went to the Getty for the cave temple exhibit and then saw "Cymbeline" performed in the park. The next day went to the Bowers Museum for the mummies exhibit, which was really cool since they had way more from other places that I expected. It wasn't just Egyptian and Peruvian.

Got really obsessed with going to the Shakespeare shows this season, even paying for it. Bum bum BUUUUUUUMMMMM!!! Among the ones we saw a couple times was "Richard III," the final part in the Wars of the Roses.

Fun video explaining that part of history, which inspired much of "Game of Thrones":

Wow haha, why the slant on the youtube likes? Looks pretty cool to me.

I found that amusing too. My friend/co-worker and I were discussing it, figuring it's simply because of the fact that it's Russian. You know, Cold War never ended and all that.

Fact: I've never considered myself a girly girl, but in my "old age" I've become more and more obsessed with dressing up and going to tea.

I know a lot of them taste pretty much like grass water, but it's also a matter of how it's brewed, getting a good looseleaf tea, and how you take it. Cream and sugar can make a lot of teas divine.

God, I really have become an old lady.

Pass me the cucumber sandwiches.

Fact: One of my favorite clients is leaving today and I'm honestly feeling a little heartbroken. I've been saying for a while now that given the opportunity I would adopt him since he's so neglected at home.

We were visiting a couple who have their own little sanctuary in the Angeles Crest National Forest. We got to sit in their backyard while most of their pack came up and allowed us to pet them or they allowed us to while they started to get drowsy and lay about in the shade. It was cool.

Really happy to be back at my old job, even if it's a much longer commute and fewer hours. I really just missed everyone and had too many issues with how the other center was run.

Extremely happy it only took a little over a month and NOT the three that I was supposedly going to have to do as part of a probationary period in order to return.

Happy, and very grateful, that one of my co-workers came in on her day off on Monday to bring in a cake she baked for me that morning. I'm not worthy.

Happy that I got to spend the weekend before getting back hanging with friends, seeing "Cymbeline" for the first time, checking out the mummy exhibit at Bowers, and eating a bunch of meals together.

Happy that I spent the last weekend, my first since getting back, just reading books and taking naps and not feeling like it was a waste. With the other center, I felt like the weekends were my only escape and that I needed to pack them so full of stuff to feel at least some happiness.

Happy that when I took my clients to Ports o' Call yesterday they got to watch battleships sailing in for Fleet Week behind a fire boat shooting up water.

Happy that Bran and I got to see "Raiders of the Lost Ark" with a live symphony orchestra performing the soundtrack.

Happy that I've been lucky enough to have money to buy meats at Whole Foods for a friend when she happened to mention during a phone call that all she and her daughter had to eat was rice until she got paid nearly a week later.

Fuck you, dress designer I've been in contact with for my wedding dress. They completely dropped off the face of the earth for a month after I paid them $100 for concept art of a dress they would do for me for $5,000 pending that I liked it. I e-mail them about it and they send me a doodle with extremely minimal details and the ONE e-mail they sent after that when I had questions simply said, "It's going to look AMAZING!" and didn't answer anything thereafter.

These people are really well-known and amusingly friends have gone, "Have you tried [NAME OF THESE SELF-SAME DRESS PEOPLE]?" when I started asking around for alternatives after this exchange.

PM'd.

Fuck the foul mood Thursday put me into, which carried into Friday. I typed out a whole lot here, but fuck it, let's just say my afternoon money management class was full of challenges and I ended up fighting with my mom the next morning.

Brandon's brother has a new girlfriend and she already has a kid. We haven't met yet, but our first time seeing anything with her was a video she posted on Facebook of herself hiding behind a door and when Joe walked into the room she punched him in the groin. He falls on the ground in pain and she picks up the camera and keeps going, "I love you."

I'll give 2-1 odds she's with him to get knocked up again.

Fucking Ridgecrest.

Been reading this non-fiction book on the shipwreck of the Sea Venture, which is believed to have inspired Shakespeare's "The Tempest." The book is "A Brave Vessel: The True Tale of the Castaways Who Rescued Jamestown." It's good, but I'm having trouble taking it seriously whenever it references Shakespeare, saying he's the most celebrated and well-known man in England at the time when most scholars will tell you that he wasn't and that playwright Ben Jonson was. The guy also keeps going on about Shakespeare being a voracious reader with many books. Haha, sure. Keep telling people that.

Anyway, I picked it up mostly to see more things on Stephen Hopkins, but I can see I'll have to take this all with a grain of salt.

I want to do the things. But to do the things I need the money. To get the money I have to do the job. The job is happening at the same time as the things. Aww.

A limited edition tiki mug came out today, and there've been a few hundred people standing in line for it since this morning.

What happened to those years when I had nothing to do all day but stand in line to flush money away on collectibles? Then again, I didn't have the money to burn back then.

eBay is now flooded with the mug. So many people who were able to just hangout there all day are trying to sell it for $150 or more when they paid $30 for them.

Then there's this tacky seller:

And a stolen menu? Christ.
