| Things have been rather difficult since that last post.
There's been a lot of factors, but all have simply added up to the fact that I probably should just find another job. I've been going through bouts of depression and self-hatred all weekend and I'm all-out dreading going to work today. I don't know why everyone is so competitive and why there's so much bad blood. We're supposed to be helping these people build up skills and have fun. It's practically volunteer work for which we just happen to get paid a pittance. |

| No. There's another rank up I'd need to be to take her job. The person in that rank is mulling it over. I sort of want his job, but it's more likely he'd give it to one of his friends.
Anyway, I love my boss. She's a mentor to me. She's been great and I'm really sad to see her go. And on another note, she just fired the aide I'd been working with all week and most of the past month, saying she wasn't doing her job right. I didn't say anything about her to my boss and I'm pretty sure it's going to look like that. Fuck. |

| Happy that a lot of people complimented my Halloween costume (pretty much my faire garb plus a tricorn I borrowed from Christina.) People at Whole Foods wanted a picture with me and I got a free drink at Peet's because the guy said it was the best costume he'd seen all day.
Happy I don't have to go to work 'til Tuesday. Happy I have friends at work with whom I can joke around and talk about all sorts of things. Happy we got to run around the Halloween stores and people's house mazes in the valley. Happy I got all this tea in the mail. |

| I highly recommend it, and I don't say that lightly of Disney films these days.
Went to the cheap theater last night and saw the "Magnificent 7" remake. I don't care what the critics who panned the thing say. I liked it, and thought it was pretty freaking enjoyable. Lots of people were shitting on the diversity, saying it was just diverse for the sake of being so, and you know what? It was fucking wonderful either way, even with Chris Pratt throwing in what seemed like a fourth wall-breaking barb about it. (Last edited by Rogue on 11-12-16 04:16 PM) |

| Our case manager didn't get the job, so we're all concerned with whatever boss the higher-ups decide to roll in for us. Right now it's sort of an "Alien Vs. Predator" thing with these two guys. You know, "Whoever wins, we lose."
On a totally different note, fuck the woman behind me at the Subway, who thought it was appropriate to make fun of the accent of the Latina woman making her sandwich. She kept chuckling and going, "I'm sorry. I'm having trouble understanding you." Were I not in such a goddamn hurry to get back to my van to get my clients to a park to rush through lunch and make it back to the center before 12:15, I would have said something. |

| The last month or so has been a huge ball of stress and anxiety, but I've been trying to keep on the bright side.
Happy that I got to go to Pat's wedding last weekend. It was really good to see him. Bran and I took a couple pictures with him in the photobooth with Bran and me on either side of him and in the second, we're both kissing him on the cheek. He's making the best face in the picture. Their officiant gave me an impromptu lightsaber fencing lesson on the dancefloor. Happy I got to stay at my friend, Katie's, place. Extra happy we got to spend a day in San Francisco with Katie. We went to the Leigon of Honor, had a great breakfast there, watched the Coast Guard rescue a boat in the bay, went tea tasting in Chinatown, then ran around the Castro eating giant chocolate-covered macaroon penises, and chatting up people at a bar. On the day Bran and I were on our own in SF, we had lunch at Tadich Grill (the oldest restaurant in SF and easily the most expensive meal I ever paid for), walked to the Ferry Building and picked up some Blue Bottle coffee and snacks. We then took our own little tour of the mosaic steps and staircases in town, walking until we got to Grand View Park. After that we went to Fort Point, which has the best view of the Golden Gate Bridge, being under it and all. Lastly went to the tiki bar, Pagan Idol, and got one of the expensive mug drinks. Happy we got to hang around Big Sur for the first time. Got to see McWay Falls and eat a burrito while sitting on wooden chairs in the middle of a river. Happy I finally got one of those limited edition Hitchhiking Ghost mugs from the tiki bar at the Disney resort. Happy that the guy who lives in the Georgia Peach appreciated the six-pack we dropped off for him on Halloween. Happy that my friend passed her citizenship test for which I was helping her study. Happy that I'm able to take Lee out for his birthday. |

As you can see, we're still around.
Was up there for a wedding. It was painfully awkward at times, but it was still nice to see someone I considered a best friend doing something that meant a lot to him. This weekend I took Stitch out for his birthday, without really knowing where I was going since I pretty much promised we'd go wherever he wanted, I'd just pick up the tabs. We went for high tea, walked around the Huntington, and then got sushi in Little Tokyo. Next weekend, I should really just stay home for a while to help my wallet recover before we have to run to Arizona the next weekend for Brandon's family reunion. |
