| Brandon and I were at Fort MacArthur for all the battle re-enactments and historically dressed people in their camps.
At 11 in the morning, a medic set a boy with heat exhaustion down next to us. I happened to have a parasol and asked if they needed shade. The medic was grateful for it. Anyway, the boy was delirious and when the medic asked for water from the other people around him, I happened to have a big bottle that Brandon and I were using. So they doused the boy and kept him in my shade for when the doctor came. They mentioned they already had several heat casualties that morning. As the day wore on, I ended up getting really dehydrated and exhausted myself. It was about 90 degrees and 60% humid. We Southern Californians are not acclimated for humidity. It literally destroys us. The event had ONE place that was selling water, and at $2 for these small bottles at that. I got desperate near the end, especially since this booth with the water was up a big hill and I was so tired. We get there and there's a big line and some people were cutting ahead because they recognized people towards the front of it. Yeah, it sucked. |

| Fuck you, aunt.
When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer many years ago, she told my mom, "I thought I'd be the one to die first." Then when my mom tried to cover up another lump she was having removed years later, my aunt then complained that my mother should have told her so that she'd know to check herself. And now this current lump that mom has that needs to be removed, my aunt called yesterday and started asking Mom about various things around our house. She mentioned this chandelier we have hanging over the piano in the living room. Mom had bought it with her own money when she was in Venice. My aunt comments that because her daughter -- my cousin -- is currently in Venice right now for vacation, this chandelier should be a part of HER (my cousin's) inheritance. WHAAAAT? Yeah, she started listing off things in our house and saying they are to go to HER CHILDREN. My mom, who's so mild, just interjected, "I'm not dying yet!" My aunt apparently kept trying to say that she's coming to stay with us. She has a history. When my grandmother was needing us to watch her, my aunt came down ONCE to act as though she'd take over watching for a week. She took my grandmother back to her house and proceeded to box up and mail a lot of shit up to her house in Sacramento. We're very sure that should attempt to stay with us, she'd do the same. It's my favorite time of year -- Shakespeare season. So many picnics to plan. 
Our favorite cast is doing "Measure for Measure" and "Two Gentlemen of Verona" this year, and we have plans to see the other cast do "Macbeth," and we went and saw the San Diego Globe Theatre do "Richard II." Will have to see when Lee and the others want to do our garish tea party. I'm also going through so many swatches of fabric for my wedding dress. We decided to do Renaissance faire garb so that way I'm not just stuck with a white dress that will live in a box for the rest of my life. It's going to be my new garb thereafter. |

| My boss is trying to catch up and he's mid-season 3. His wife already had him watch the Red Wedding, and that was when he'd only seen a few episodes of season 1. Apparently he's also seen the last episode of season 6. My friend and I are going, "What the hell, dude? You're ruining it for yourself!"
I'm just amused so many people are pissed about Ed Sheeran having a three-minute cameo. He sings a song and has ONE line thereafter and people are saying it ruined the WHOLE episode for them. |

| We started trying to watch "The Last Kingdom," but it's slow-going with Brandon's and my conflicting work schedules. We're only four episodes in.
We watched the first episode of "The Hollow Crown," which was essentially "Richard II." Each episode is a Shakespeare play, so they're about 2-and-a-half hours long. It's going to take FOREVER. |

I definitely miss hand-drawn 2D. It's classic. And CG, while constantly improving, doesn't always look that great over time. I mean, just rewatching some scenes from "Toy Story." 
Anyway, I feel like if it's not Pixar it takes a lot for me to gain interest when it comes to these CG features. Also, it seems like these things are so heavily pushed toward little kids (Trolls, Smurfs, etc.) What does your happy place look like? |

| E-mailed my dressmaker the first choices for the dress. I genuinely hope they work. I'm feeling a lot of anxiety over this whole thing since the customer service guy who answers the e-mails is the very same person who made me feel like absolute shit when I talked to him at WonderCon.

| Different aunt from the social security and inheritance-stealing one (Beth) who's in Vegas nowadays.
Yeah, my family. Go fucking figure. She actually mentioned to me that she wants to do a mastectomy (especially after a friend of hers just had a double and said she doesn't need radiation), but then thought different of it. Her doctors just keep recommending lumpectomies and radiation. I guess because this one is tiny? Anyway, my cousin (the younger daughter of the aunt I was mentioning in that last post) saw my FB update about my mom and had messaged me about it (hence how my aunt found out about it -- it was my fault because I didn't even realize how bad Evelyn's comments have been before.) Cousin wants updates, so when my mom told me the size I thought this was great news. I messaged my cousin and told her that eventhough Mom is positive at least it's only 4mm. My cousin messages me back to say, "I don't want to alarm you, but 4mm is actually really big for a tumor," which of course made me lose my shit. I started crying and messaged her back that we're trying to stay positive and don't want to stress out Mom. |

| What are you guys using to upload photos for third party hosting?
I've been using Photobucket for ages, but just got a ridiculous message that my account no longer allows me to embed pictures anywhere unless I pay them. So what the hell are they good for? At that point one would just switch to Dropbox or something better that also doesn't give you a way to post pictures but just holds onto your files. So yeah, screw Photobucket. 
It didn't help that they kept deleting my October gifs even when there's no nipple showing in these pictures kept in a private album. (Last edited by Rogue on 08-01-17 09:25 AM) |

| I studied shotokan for a few years in late elementary and middle school. Made it to purple belt. Only stopped because Mom and Dad weren't really up for the long drive to Temple City any more.

| We were bad and watched the leaked episode. It's REALLY good. Oh my god, they're going full force with it all now that it's off-book and wrapping up.
And yes, Sam's line in last week's episode was goddamn great. |
