Well, when I was on my last mission here at McCoy I was a logistical representative (aka supply guy) who wa responsible for a lot of stuff. A lot of expensive army equipment. Over $600,000 worth of equipment. Ranging from laser tag equipment to buildings to cars and trucks. Yeah, it's a lot, but here's the catch: anything that was lost was paid for out of my pay check. The laser equipment was a biggie. Each set costs a few hundred dollars, if not a thousand. I was also responsible for issuing everything out and getting it returned. So if any of those were missing, then I was knee deep in..... [goo]. And at one point I thought there was one set missing. I gotta tell you, I was nothing less than worried for a while. It was my first time taking care of that much stuff. That's a pretty huge leap from nothing. So I'm proud say that in the end everything was accounted for. Even got an Army Achievement Medal. Hooah!

Man, I know a site wtih a ton of these. But I'll only list one's I've come up with.

You have half or nearly half your hard drive filled with hundreds or thousands of anime file or movie/series.

You've had to get a new, bigger hard drive becuase you anime maxed out the capacity on the older one. (20GB is not enough, 250 is)

You start acting out certain things in anime, such as hand movements for the seals from Naruto.

There are many times during the day when you think about anime.

You get up waaay early in the morning to record anime that comes on TV.

You have a list of "The Laws of Anime".

The SBC essentially is what you went through, Crono. It's pretty much level after level of differents scenarios, as Beowulf posted. But, I use a lot of creativity during the time I came up with them and eventually made a vague storyline that becomes apparent towards the end.

The warrior's energy dissipated from his and left only his fist to strike your body. Although it was a hard punch, it causes little damage to you and is ineffective. The young person stands ready for another attack and then notices the Supreme Trainer motioning him to stand down. The fighter acknowledges and moves off to the side.

"This fight ended as quickly as it started," said the Supreme Trainer. "The reason being to test only if you were capable of making lengthy actions. The young fighter here specializes in chi and energy-based attacks. Had he hit you with his punch it would have been a strong blow. But your technique seemed to negate his effect. So you see how easy it is to have long attacks? Sometimes it may take a bit of thinking to come up with something, but it can be done. Doing so also may improve your creativity as well. Now then, this concludes the lesson, and essentially, your training. You have successfully learned all knowledge I've given to you. However, remembering and putting it to use will be up to you. There are also other things to learn during your journey, but I have left those for you to find yourself. Congratulations."

Supreme Trainer calls forth several people to gather around and tells you to step forward. He pulls out his shining sword from its golden sheath and raises it up. The sunlight made it shimmer and it almost seemed to let off a glow of its own. He brings it down and gently rests it on top of your head as he begins to announce something.

"I hereby decree that this young man, Shuyin, has been given my blessing as a warrior, as well as the spirits that dwell within thy sword! Let all know that he has the knowledge from my teachings and will be protected and guided by them during his time as a warrior. His journey may be long and difficult, but he will overcome any obstacles."

The Supreme Trainer sheaths his sword and places his hands upon your shoulders. Everyone applauds as they stare at a new champion standing before them.

"A joyous moment this is, Shuyin. Indeed it is. As a reward, I will give you something very special." The Supreme Trainer reaches inside his shirt behind his chest plating and pulls out an unsual looking tan rock with an engraving on it. He holds it out to you so you can get a good look.

"This rock is not what it seems. Although it looks ordinary enough, it something very rare and special. It is called a "God Mod" stone. Do you know what one is, Leon?

Yes
No

So, do you understand? Excellent. This is what has been protecting me from your attacks. I pray you use it only when you have to. You are about to set out on journey different from everybody else's. It would seem to be like a quest, but it is not. I do not know the nature of this feeling, but you should know about it. Take caution and look out for yourself. Things and events may not be what they seem. Now, go. Begin your new lifestyle and become a grand person. Your true life has just begun....

"Hm, and if you learn to harness your emotions completely they can be used in improve your strength. Even a chaotic nature can prove to be powerful against your enemies if contolled properly. 'Know thy self, and you shall conquer all.' Remember this. Now, I shall give you your final lesson. You've learned about many things since you arrived, so now I shall put some of your knowledge to the test. In battle, you may be faced with an opponent with your same strength or power. Overcoming such an adversary may be difficult and require a lot of strategy. However, if you continue fighting the same way there may be a good chance that you can outlast him, lengthening your attacks, so to speak. Doing this is a great way to intimidate many less experienced fighters, possibly defeating them without lifting a finger. This is what I want you to do, Jade- Show me that you can perfrom a lengthy action and you will have completed this lesson. Your goal for this is to make no less than 8 'sentences' during an action or attack."

The Supreme Trainer motions and calls over another student to stand before you.

"This young person will be your test opponent. He is going to attack you. Do what you must during this lesson, but do not kill him. You must also leave him conscious. You are to use what you have learned. You can use spell charging, the Smash Hit, strategy, basic fighting or all of them combined. You choose what to do. Do you understand? Good. Now then, begin the fight. And remember, at least 8 'sentences'"

The student looks at you and prepares his attack with a fighting stance. A brown hair young man with a fairly muscular build. He seems to be training in the martail arts judging from the lack of weapons in his hand. Suddenly he launches himself forward with a special fast movement technique and draws his fist back for a strong punch

Your Smash Hit strikes the Avalus Guard with 74% strength. The impact from the force creates a small flash of light and throws him back quite a distance before his body hits the wall and falls to the ground. He suffers 39 Dmg and lies on the hard floor. He has been defeated and tells you to stop fighting him, putting down his partisan to show he has given up.

The supreme trainer directly takes the hits from the attack, but stands strong. An energy field appears around him and heals the wounds you've inflicted.
"Good. You know how to correctly correctly attack. But, you have cast a spell on me yet. No matter, though, I believe you already know how to do that. Next I'll will tell you about spell charging. In this realm, the casting of high level magic spells requires you to gather enough energy for it. A level one or two spell does not need a great amount, therefore you are able to use them instantly. Anything beyond a level two spell has to be "charged". The amount of time needed is called a "post". One post of charging is needed for a level three spell. Two posts are needed for level 4, and the amount of posts required keeps raising by one for each level you want to use. Be careful about when you want use a high level spell, for you cannot attack or defend while doing so, making yourself vulnerable. However, setting up a defense beforehand is a strategy you can use. Now, I want you to use a post to charge a spell and then cast it on me during the next one.

"Particles", if you will, within a body that influence how much you can use the force. I'm going to pretend I know exactly what it means, but that's the general idea behind it.

So, basically one could say that the whole story behind Star Wars is how the Soth lord's complex and very long plan to take over the galaxy backfired on him in the end. Not a bad way to think about it.

By some very very random word: xerocity

I have a character named Schala in my story, the name being from Chrono Trigger, so I used that and found that there are some pretty nice images of her. Here's the first that showed up:

I think a good idea would be to have a page that listed everybody's art work. I know people like creating and showing their art here, so making a page where you can click on a member's name and be taken to another page with their art work on it could get people to post more artwork. I beleive people would really like this. If you want, you could even make a main page for the board and have a link to the art one there.

Something that VG is doing for NFF is letting members buy forum space with money or points. On a bi-weekly basis, costing around 7500 [money] where you can a forum of your own. You can keep the forum as long as you can pay for it each session.

One thing that would be great that I've seen very few boards have (none were Acmlm boards) is an arcade page. Get simple mini games and put them in a page with so members can play them. For an added bonus, make a scoreboard listing the top ten or whatever highest scores.

You could also re-input the custom scheme editor.

Wow, I know what you're feeling, Shuyin. Maybe it's always been like that or maybe time gradually made it that way, but I've certainly noticed that over the months people have begun to be a bit cheap in their attacks. And those super uber attacks where it's "near impossible to avoid" does get me irritated. But, I at least know why that happens. Mainly people new to somewhat new to the sim battle scene are prone to do that. People usually don't think about how others would feel going against such a thing. I don't blame them for it all, though. The attack may sound cool. If it was used in an anime, for example, where a huge blast annihilates everything and there's no way to get around it wouldn't it seem awesome to use in a battle? Wouldn't it be great to do in real life? The thing is that no one wants to be on the receiving end. Who really feels like going with the other person's rules on how they can't avoid it and have to get hit? Do some of you in that position feel like you have to in order to not seem like you're being cheap yourself? I've seen a lot of that in the battles I fight and even in the SBC. Sure, people may be going against weak enemies in the beginning challenges, but that's no excuse to feel like you'd be able use an ultra attack and wipe them all out in a single blow. If people would put thought into the attacks they use thngs would be much better. All you need to do is ask yourself this: "If somebody used this attack on me, would I feel okay with not being able to dodge or block it? Would it be alright with me if I couldn't penetrate somebody's indestructable armor?". I don't know, maybe some don't even realize they've done a cheap action.

Often times I have to compensate by giving my character more power to withstand those actions, and I hate doing that. It makes me be cheap, and as some of you know, I've mentioned quite a few times about "staying true to your characters' abilities". It's certainly not that I don't like losing, becuase I will if I feel I deserve to, it's just that I think it's stupid to have to go down so fast. Listen people, there's no reason why somebody should have to be defeated from your ultra unavoidable attack and in less than a 20 post page of fighting. Get more creative and tone all that junk down. A lot. It's so dumb and I know very well that many people do get annoyed by that. Please stop doing that, even in the challenges I run. You may think it's cool, but you think others feel the same way about that as you?

As you also said, Shuyin, everyone really wants to be a winner. Why? You don't really get anything for it. I know people don't like to accept defeat, but you gotta learn to. I remember back when I posted at Acmlm's board a few years ago, I had more losses than wins. And honestly, there were a few times when losing was actually fun. I'd sometimes go out with a bang by doing a 4 or 5-cast in a desparate attempt to do cause whatever injuries could before I died. It was something a bit newbish to do, I'll admit that, but fighters sometimes went along with it as my dying wish and I moved on to another battle thread. Back then it seemed like the nonsense today never existed. I can respect members at the Sim Battle Board, run by Tamarin, becuase we don't like being cheap. Everyone there fights fair, and we love it. There have only been a few of us going to that board during the past 2 years it's been up, but we've stayed becuase there were very few like us.

It may be that people get better and fight more fair with time and experience, but they should at least know not to pull off some cheap action right away. Maybe we should set some guidlines that member should go through before joining their first fight here. Doing that migh improve battle around this board.
