My ideal self and the way I'd fight if sim-battles were real. I've created and use over 205 spells spanning 14 elementals, and although I also have over 150 weapons spanning 3 types I mainly use swords and haven't use any more than 15 of them. I have my attacks as quick and powerful strikes and use my skills and magic very effectively to get out of and possibly avoid a bad situation, sometimes injuring myself in the process. I am true to my character's abilities. If there is something I cannot dodge I will simply get hit and not make up something at the spur of the moment just to get out of it. | I just want to let people know, whoever I may fight, that I use two original elementals- Energy and Anti-Magic. I'm sure all of you can imagine what Energy is like (think lasers) but I want to clarify any coming misunderstandings of what "Anti-Magic" is.
Contrary to what you may first think, this particular elemental has absolutely nothing to do with nullifying someone else's magic or spells. Instead, think back to your physics class in school (if you've taken one yet). I'm sure you've heard of matter and "anti-matter". For each particle that exists there exists an anti-particle. Example- Electron / Positron. Neutron / Neurtrino (I think). The concept of Anti-Magic is the very same thing. For each of my elementals I have exists an opposite, or anti elemental. And, just like how matter and anti-matter create an annihilating effect/explosion when coming into contact with each other, spells from the Anti-Magic have an annihilating explosion when making contact with spells or beings made from normal elementals. Although the way I set it up is that a normal spell and an "anti-spell" of the opposing normal elemental cause this phenomenon. Here's an example: Fire + Anti-Ice = destructive blast. Dark + Anti-Light = destructive blast. Hopefully no one will get confused by this and claim cheapness on my part. But know that the chances of me using that elemental can be as rare as Hell freezing over. It depends on the situation. (Last edited by Cyro Xero on 07-28-05 06:59 PM) |

| Might I suggest something? Leon, you should have certain icons next to the threads so people can tell which fights are tournament and which are not. Maybe the paper icon or green coin would be great.
And Black Lord, if you want you can read my character's profile to get a better understanding of what it can do. I don't want you to think that I'm doing some cheap things. What I have there is all it can do with the exception of magic spells. Assuming you character is a vampire type (judging from the name) I've yet to see how a battle between that and a robot will turn out. I don't think I ever saw a match like it. | Well, I have a heck of a lot of things in my profile. I dont' have enough time to list them all, but some of the highlights are the "profile updates" section, Spell of the Moment and Anime Girls sections which are clickable and take you to another page, the Board Accomplishments at the bottom, sim battle stats (which I've yet to update at all) and the XML table of 49 of my magic spells.

People generally learn to battle on their own. Having trainers to teach newcomers isn't really all too productive. What we could do is teach people how to battle better. This may take someone with unbiased technique, however. You can't train people in just a certain way. |

Heh. Gee, I was just thinking that right before I read your post, Sparda. Just what are you guys basing the belts off? It seems to me like a 3-belt tag game with no title being more significant than the other. I think we do need to come up with something better. We can make our own title with realistic categories. It wouldn't be hard to do at all. Examples:

A "Tag Belt" could be something that people challenge each other for with no special requirements. You earn it, and sometime later someone else challenges you for it and they may win. Then someone else competes and so on, Just like a game of tag. The only rule is that you can't challenge the person who won it from you. Somebody would have to beat him and then you could go for it again. A "Same Day" belt is a very challenging title to attain because in order to win your battle posts have to be within a 1-day limit. If you go beyond 12 hours of your last post then you lose. Sleeping is no exception since you really should stay in bed for no more than 8 hours. Plus you have all your tasks and whatnot to do throughout the day. A "Long Post" belt, another challenging one and something I can see Shin-ra members keeping for a while, would be won by having the longest post at the end. Each time your opponent posts you have to reply with your post being at least 1 sentence longer. Then he would have to do the same. You would not be allowed to post partially completed actions and then edit them later. No editing would be allowed at all. Those are a few ideas I came up with without really thinking much. I'm glad somebody brought this up. I haven't seen anyone doing a light-speed action just yet, but this will probably stop most people from doing it. However, making a battle where physics don't apply a lot can be done, and then doing light-speed things would fit in for the most part. But only if the that particular set up is announced beforehand. |

This task isn't always done as it should be, but I, and I'm sure Shaddow does as well, update myself on what is going on in the Sim Battle forum. I'll admit I have been on in the past few days, but that's simply because I haven't been around a computer with internet. You saying that you have something to offer that the others do not makes me feel a little inept. Don't worry, that's not a bad thing at all. I want to have knowledge of everything pertaining to sim-battle to moderate the forum better, so that means I've got to do some learning.
As for adding new trainers I have mixed feelings. I'm not too comfortable with the idea of having a ton of members as judges because it's not neccessary (I know adding you wouldn't greatly increase the list). But, on the other hand, it could prove to be useful to have more since some people would pick up where others have begun to slack off. For the record, I believe you would be a great asset, Leviathan.
