Well, as some of you can see, I've come back after a very long absence. And since my absence I've noticed that there aren't a whole lot of active users that come here anymore. That's fine by me. At least this place is still up and running. Since I'm back I thought about some projects that interest me.

The first is that I hope to get the Sim Battle Challenges up and running again. I have the time, but sometimes, such as in the past, I've gotten lazy about it. Mainly because doing the second challenge takes forever, and to me it is boring. But it must be done anyway. Those of you who have been participating can start where they left off if you choose to participate again. Hopefully I'll even get to put the 7th challenge up since it's never been done yet, at any board.

The next idea I had in mind I came up with several months ago. It'll require much time and help from others, but I was thinking about making a newsletter for the Acmlm board community. Yes, it'll be a Acmlm newspaper. This newspaper would include stuff like:
Member interviews
News about the world, technology, games, etc.
Information about changes to any board within the community
Event listings
Mentionable artwork/ music done by members
Reviews for games/computer etc.
Wanted Ads

Basically anything going on within the community would be put in it, and the letter would be posted on each and every Acmlm Board that is currently active. Now, doing this by myself would prove to be difficult. That's why I would have a staff of writers to help. Each person would work on a section or topic and then everything would be put together and sent out as a whole to each participating board In addition to this, other random members could submit their own writings or reviews to the newsletter, possibly getting it put forward with their credits. This is something I'd have to spend time planning out and would require permission on each board to have posted, along with any comments from you guys if this would work or not.

The last idea in mind for now is something that was taken from Resistance: Fall of Man. It deals with Ribbons (think Military service ribbons) that are awarded for each accomplishment during online play. These ribbons are small images of different designs and colors, stacked in rows and columns, that would be award to those who happen to accomplish certain requirements for things online (post counts, getting certain scores in online games from places like Newgrounds/etc., participate in RP/Simbattles, internet scavenger hunt) and even real world (Lifting heavy weight, no speeding tickets, gallon milk challenge). You could put them in your bio, Myspace page or personal web page. Many, many ideas can be incorporated into this, but I'd only pick things that areinteresting and not too easy/hard to get. I may need help with the images as well if things get to overwhelming.

So that's what I have in mind for now. I don't know when I'll be doing any of these (especially the newsletter) but deep inside I do want to make them all happen whenever I can. I'd like some input from your guys about whether you like these ideas or not, and if any are willing to help make it happen.

That's very impressive. That guys must've figured what the computer's actions would be after each action and countered with the right attack. Very good work there. I remember hearing a rumor years ago when SF2 was still in it's arcade glory that if you beat the game with Ryu and get perfects every round you get to fight the guys he mentions after every won match, Shen Long. I had my skepticisms.

Sleep paralysis. I can relate to you, insectduel. I've had that experience plenty of times. Although with me I never felt any pain. It is a strange experience, sometimes scary even. You're awake, but your eyes are closed. You can't move any part of your body, at all. You try to speak, but nothing. All you can do is breathe hard, trying to get your vocal cords to work, but it's as if you never had any. You also hear your own heart beating. It's like you have your ear on your chest. So you lay there, completely aware of your surroundings, eyes closed, but with the effect of having your spinal cord severed from the base of your skull on down. Somehow, however, I manage to slip out of it. I try so hard to move my body, just to shake it or turn my self over and eventually it works. I open my eyes right away and am careful of how I fall asleep afterward. I haven't had sleep paralysis for quite sometime, but I'm pretty sure I haven't had it for the last time.

There's actually a reason why that happens, and while I forgot the whole explanation, it involves your brain going into sleep mode and shutting down your muscles so that you don't act out your dreams. Somehow you haven't gone into REM sleep yet. It almost like your brains goes into that mode a little too early, or it could be that you become awake wrong. Either way, there's nothing to be afraid of if it happens. It's just your brain slipping up.

Black Lagoon is great.

Hellsing Ultimate is awesome, just takes forever for each episode.

Yakitate! Japan, if only it wasn't so long (but hell, making that many episodes about bread and make them funny is quite a feat)

Not familiar with the other one.

Something I've been watching recently is D. Gray Man, it's quite good, the second season is near it's end.

Dirty Pair Flash. I have that series. I liked it, but it's not the greatest anime. It's one of those things that you should just borrow from someone. But it's not bad at all.

I think getting into a long running anime is the better choice. They tend to be the good sones. Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, Ranma. Those are some of the greatest anime of all time. I'm not saying this becuase I like them, but it's the fact that sometimes people like a certain anime so much that it tends to keep going. Also, any anime series that would get you to watch it twice within a month or two (maybe longer or shorter for you) is definitely worth getting. Others that are 26 episodes or so long are good as well. I have 3 that I bought within the past 4 months that are all worth owning: Get Backers, S-cry-ed, E's Otherwise and Scrapped Princess.

Get Backers is an action/comedy that has a great variety of characters with special powers. Something akin to Naruto. It's story line is pretty decent at that.

S-cry-ed is almost the same thing, but I don't think it's quite as good as Get Backers, However, it's still a good anime in it's own right. Take it from the "Anime Legends" logo at the top of the box that the series is classified as.

E's Otherwise is a series about psychics. Some episodes I found to be slightly boring, but the anime as a whole is worth buying.

Scrapped Princess is my favorite out of the 4 listed. Actually tied with Get Backer. It takes place in a medieval setting, with a girl traveling with her older brother and sister, on the run from people who are trying to kill her. Nice characters, great battles and a good story with a twist and surprise.

Get Backers and Scrapped Princess are two series I would watch twice within a month. Someone mentioned Flame of Recca. That's a good choice. I have that and I would definitely watch it twice. Another anime I reccomend to you, DarkBeloved, is "Rave Groove Adventure", or "Groove Adventure Rave". I never did figure out the placement of "Groove", but you guys may know it as "Rave Master" from Toonami. Now, I know what your thinking, that it wasn't that good a show, or maybe it was to some of you. But we all know about anime getting nerfed when put on Cartoon Network. Some great classics like DBZ didn't turn out so well when the "murder" of the series began. Rave Master in my opinion SUCKED MONKEY DUNG when it was aired on CN. I was anxious to see it on TV, but got really disappointed at how much of a kids show it turn out to be. I boough the series a couple years before it was shown on CN, and trust me when I say it is much better on DVD. "Rave Master" (I don't like that name) is actually supposed to be as serious as DBZ was. The same thing goes for One Peice. You guys may think that show is all fun and games, but that series was also cut up. I'm not saying that Rave Master is the greates show on Earth, but I wanted to clear a mistake up for you.

Those are a few that you should look into. There are others out there, but depite the 150+ anime I've seen, I haven't seen em all, so looking around isn't a bad idea.

Anime Suki

It's a site for anime torrents. You won't find a whole lot of common anime there, if any, but a lot of great series have been on it. Take your pick and try one out. Maybe let us know if it's any good. The lists goes by most recently released, but links at the top takes you to lists by group, alphabetical or series.

I did some research to try to determine who the character is. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place (wikipedia), but I'm still not sure who it is, because after reading about everyone, that question seems a little vague, and a bit of a trick question at that with more than one possible person to choose from. Still, I'm gonna go out on a limb here with my best possible conclusion and say that's the character shown is "Uriel". His vocal cords were ripped out, so it makes sense that he would have something covering his mouth.

Meh, sorry about the research. That's not Setsuna. I think Setsuna is the angel who is in love with his sister.

It reminds me of those ridiculous lawsuits we hear about once in a great while that actually go through. Unless there is a patent on that joke, he's not getting anything.

I was just about to say that. You probably won't be around anyway. So no need to worry.

And I'm posting in a thread that hasn't been responded to in a week.

Yeah, you can tell something is up when a certain month has a lot of birthdays. I would think people might be interested in trying to have their babies born as close to Valetine's Day as possible, for a "cute" birthday.
