| Description is the CORNERSTONE of Simming. Reno has no idea what your sword is made of. Is it material? Energy? Something else completely?
Saying it can cut through ANYTHING is god-modding. Plain and simple. My character uses a blade with an edge that puts your average mono-filiment to shame, with enough weight behind it to go through damned near anything. Do i STATE this logical fact, and USE it in a fight? No. Why? Modding. You left a giant hole in your post, and in your character. You've left no decent way to defend against the strike save for some magical cheap "I move my head at the speed of light and the sword misses meh!" bullshit. You did not describe the material of the weapon, the speed at which it was thrown, HOW it was thrown, or anything else. (Oh..and by the way.."nothing can stop the attack". You should have been DQed on the spot for that.) |

| Ladies and gentlemen...this is getting out of hand.
This board has quite obviously been rather..sheltered. I have the feeling that few of you have ventured beyond this or similar boards. So allow me to touch upon the RP treatment of your ill-treated "guests". You look down on us for coming from a superiour style of simming (RP wise). It is that simple. We pride description, style and skill..while many of you prefer to keep things as bare-bones as humanly possible. Normally, this would pose no problem...but members, staff and admins alike have shown an AUTOMATIC dislike towards us. Reno's actions in his fight were..severe. However, his opponent's were simply unacceptable. Anyone who's been simming for more than a week knows full well that an "unstoppable" attack with an undefined weapon that can cut through absolutely "anything" is NOT good simming. Yet the judges here completely overlooked the flaws in these posts because of what? Reno's severity in dealing with them? The truth is simple. Reno did not mod. His opponent was incredibley lazy in the description of his weapon, and Reno took full advantage of that after reading a mod-filled post. Let me ask you a question. Do you people want to run a fair board? The way it's looking now, you are perfectly happy handing out biased rulings and allowing ill treatment of people who have come to bring a fresh wave of Simming to your board. The staff here needs to take note of the actions of the members AND it's own. |

| Notice that i said "RP wise"..which is something that has been admitted by various members here.
We do not "flow" with your rules because they are the kind of rules we saw 7-10 years ago, when most of us were just starting out. I would go into more detail about them, but i am NOT here to insult anyone. |

| Dark brings up an important point.
We are familiar with the ORIGINAL rules. Not of this or any other board..but of sim-battling as a whole. Shin-Ra is, without doubt, the oldest orginization of simmers in the american circuit today. We were there for the BEGINNING. I personally saw the "rise" of simming as we know it today with my own eyes. Shin-Ra itself influinced it quite heavily. Let me tell you something guys. I am currently in possession of the strongest simming character ever to grace the circuit. I have incorporated various aspects of Quantum Physics, Chaos Theory, and various advanced Energy Theories into this character, and the magic/weapons he uses have the potential to be beyond anything any of you have ever seen. Not in power, mind you..in complexity. Guess what? I can logically explain damned near EVERY aspect of this character IN LAYMANS TERMS. It doesn't have to be possible. This is fantasy. But there has to be a REASON. Why can this random sword slice through a wall of solid steel 4 feet thick? Because its edge was imbued with dragonion magic that generates enough heat to melt the metal the second the edge makes contact without melting the edge itself (due to the fact that the magic is locked in place 1/1000 of an inch from its surface and radiates only outward). Is it logically possible using real-world means? No. Does it at least make a little bit of sense? Yes. |

| We are the oldest, strongest, and among many knowledgable simmers, most repected RP group on the internet today. But we did not come here expecting to be praised, worshipped, or given any special treatment. We came here to have some fun simming.
Now let me tell you what we DO want. We want to be treated in a decent manner. We want our battles to be judged fairly and intelligently. We do NOT want automatic bias against us. We are hardly asking you to turn your board over on its head for us. We are asking for a bit of damned decency. |

How do you conjure a fireball? Psychically tap into the core of the planet and draw in its heat through the use of an age-old family ability. Rely on Pyrokinesis 9look up the possible causes). Weave raw energy into an ethric rune that generates intense heat. It DOES NOT have to be realistic. It just has to be explained by intelligent means. Not real-world means. |

| Here's a decent example. This attack is listed in the character profile of a user named "Jexim".
"while it returns, as it speeds back it cannot be stopped or detoured, piercing through anything that get's in it's way, including all types of shields and physical objects, it stops at my throught coming to a complete halt just before it hits me, as I float there witht the lance at my throat a large pattern glows upon the field momentarily then dissappears, then, randomly throughout the field large cross-shaped pillars, a mile high at their shortest, shoot forth from the ground with no more than about two to three feet of space between them, these pillars are not fire, water, light, explosive, or any other element you would normally expect, but rather if something comes in contact with it, be it living or inanimate, will be erased from existence, as if it had never been at all" A: Cannot be stopped. B: Pierces through any kind of shield or physical object. C: Erases anything it touches from existance. This attack has INCREDIBLE mod potential...simply because NOTHING is explained. He could turn around the next post and pull any reason he wanted out of his ass to negate a decent defense. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't make a damned bit of sense. A: Cannot be stopped by normal means because it is driven completely by my psychic energy. B: Can pierce through most shields/objects due to its extreme momentum and speed. C: Creates pillars that reverse the flow of time within their general proximity. Time becomes so distorted that anything caught in these pillers is thrown so far back in a different time that they cease to exist. Look carefully at C. It is purposefully flawed...but it is still EXPLAINED. It does not have to be perfect..it does not have to reflect advanced scientific knowledge..it just needs something which can justify it. Not only that, but something that sets guidelines as to the move itself so that it cannot be altered on a whim to allow an easy mod. |

| We would LOVE to see the lot of you suddenly tossing out decent-sized posts full of description..but that is not what this is about.
What this rule is about is quite simple. Either through a profile, in-spar, or by request, there needs to be some REASONABLE way to explain an attack, item or spell. Doesn't have to be fancy..doesn't have to be complicated..doesn't have to be POSSIBLE. But if someone asks how this attack works, or what makes that spell tick, or HOW you summoned that giant dragon..you should already know, and there should be no problem offering a basic explanation. In all honesty, this sort of thing should be done in a profile or in a post when the attack is made...but provided your descriptions/explanations stay the same between PMs, then why not? |

We are the FOUNDING FATHERS of this RP style. We have effected every large american RP board on this planet in one way or another. Before us, simming was "Slashes this guy in the stomache" "Bleeds. Stabs the other guy in the leg". Nothing but chat-style. Yet you believe our opinions are not VALID? Half the people here think that we want to take over the board. If that was the case, we would have a hundred old members swarming this place right now. As Shanan stated, we are trying to help you lot along..nothing else. |

| There is ALWAYS a way to get into a board.
Half of these places have glaring cookie errors (which i will not explain) that a normal member can use to make himself a root admin. Back up often..take every precaution you know of..and keep your fingers crossed. That's all you can really do. |

There is a REASON. There is a WHY. It is not simply "Well..i made it..and..uhh.." No one expects EVERY explanation to be perfectly logical. This is FANTASY. for the 10th time...this rule is about reason. Most of you could not work up a highly detailed and complete explanation of every attack. That is fine, as that is not what this is for. All it is...is reason. Do you have a reason why you can do this? Can you explain it a little bit? (oh, and by the way...given what we know about theoretical psychic abilities and the possible link with so-called magical acts such as "thought-forms", the description of the iceball was sound on a meta-scientific level.) |

I do believe most of my fellow Shin-Ra know what i speak of when i say "This CAN NOT end well". We suggested a new rule...not only were we FLAMED for it, but another member has gone ahead and tossed up a poll for the sole purpose of having our own revoked. You don't like the fucking rule? VOTE AGAINST IT. But no. Instead, you ban Reno for having an "attitude". We have been cocky. Brash. Bold. Even arrogant. But we have NOT been NEARLY as abusive as the members of this board. And let me tell you something ladies and gentlemen...if our members start being banned for THIS kind of bullshit, you will find us significantly more difficult to get along with. Show me a flame (worse than what your members have done), blatant and repeated spam, or a hacking attempt on the part of Reno. | My character originally began as a D&D-style fighter/mage combo with a unique race i created for the game owners.
After that...the only thing that inspired his development was my "id". He is, in many ways, a representation of what the core consciousness of my mind would be without boundries. Take away the Ego, Super-Ego, Conscious, and Subconscious mind and toss whats left in what has become a near-omnipotent being..and you'd come pretty damned close. |
