Okay, it took me four hours (on and off), but I finally created one as close to me as we can get, but more based on the Soldier of Fortune storyline than anything else. Damn them not having trenchcoats or gun accessories.

Just as a reference back to Xero, do you realize how difficult it was for me to fall asleep that first night? Also, unless you just can't tell because the picture is so dark, but I was expecting a more cut six pack...

Anyway, I've managed to create myself in anime form down to the way I like it:

As the vehicle drove over the loosened dirt, its sophisticated instruments running millions of calculations stabilizing the vehicle enroute to its destination, Lee sat watching the road listening to the soft music filtering throughout the cabin of the Marauder. The faint sounds of the dirt shuffling beneath the tires as the clouds above parted over Oakridge converging over the fields of Zedari where many gathered to watch the annual showers. He unbuckled his safety belt causing the vehicle to switch into autodrive mode as he climbed over the backseats to the trunk of his car where he searched the storage panels for his PCD (Personal Communications Device). A bump in the road caused him to peer out the back window watching for what could have tripped the electronic stabilization. Nothing appeared on the road, his eyes started to hurt from the dryness of the contacts; he closed his eyes only to be moved into a flashback from his early years with Special Ops.

Two weeks before he set out to meet Pat and Tom on that beach on the Mainland, he was called into one of the laboratories at the Ops Headquarters in Edge City deep in the basements of the now TMC building for his input on a new technology. He had spent five hours of his fabricated existence in those laboratories tinkering, programming, and building the foundations of an immense project to control the fabric of time and space. The main generator housed several thousand lightyears away, the remote devices so small they fit on specialized watches, and they were set for distribution to special classifications of agents in a matter of a couple weeks. Since he had helped bring the project to fruition, he received three watches--one for himself, two for whomever he felt should have them--as a token of the agency's appreciation.

He blinked a couple times before rising from his position over the backseats, and sat down on the right passenger side before realizing that the vehicle had already parked itself on the driveway of his home. A familiar face appeared on the other side of the darkened windows attempting to peer inside. Christine, he thought as he opened his door. The midday suns disappearing behind the mountainscape of Erdu City, with Solaris III just resting on the horizon of the TMC building, he stepped out into the subdued sunlight and walked around to meet his friend.

She handed him a pair of jet black sunglasses she carried with her in case he ever forgot to bring them along. "I'm sure those contacts hurt," she said as she handed him the pair of glasses. He removed the contacts, placing them in their protective case inside his pocket, then turned to watch her pudgy ball of fur, Fappy, walk up to his feet.

"So Brandon went to Xodan then?" he asked as Fappy proceeded to rub himself around his legs leaving little strands of black fur around the cuffs of his pants, "Are you going to the showers this year?" He walked towards his mailbox retrieving the single postcard containing a written invitation from Crystle and Tom for the showers viewing in Zedari.

"Speaking of which, can I trouble you for a ride? Brandon took the car," she paused to pick up the sponge of a cat and tossed him into the middle of the street hoping the cat would get the hint and head towards the house, "which we absolutely love the car and can't thank you enough for..." Lee held up his hand and turned to walk towards the driver side of the car.

"Hop in, I'll drop you off there on my way back to the City."

"Back to the City? You just got off work," she asked knowing that he lead two lives and she just needed to hold up her end of the charade while they were still in the open.

"Yes, you reminded me of something I have to retrieve from someone," he sat clearly exhausted in the driver's seat and waited for her to fasten her safety belt, "Since you'll be there anyway, you can send my regards to them."

She moved to fasten the belts, but stopped just before the buckle neared the locking mechanism. He looked at her watching as she froze. He glanced out the side window watching the cat sit in the middle of the street frozen in his licking pose. With a slow push of the door, he stepped out and stopped a few inches from a leaf suspended in the air, its descent to the ground interrupted. Pat..., he thought as he tapped a contact on the inside of his left wrist.

Business Park Plaza had descended into darkness among the towering buildings obscurring the last of the three suns, nightfall on the cusp of arrival. The many citizens of the City frozen in their walks, their conversations, their happenings. Vehicles frozen on the roadways, trees motionless under the thickened presence of the motionless breeze. He started jogging the five blocks down the street to the apartment complex where Pat lived, but as he neared the building his internal sensors alerted him to the pending renewal of time. He quickly touched a contact on the inside of his wrist appearing once again inside his vehicle.

"I shall," she voiced as she fastened her safety belt. The vehicle rolled into the street, and with autodrive engaged, quickly accelerated down the roads towards the fields. She cleared her throat, "Um, can you drop me off at the central library in Edge City instead, or the Mass Transit station if it's out of your way?"

He turned to her, then disengaged autodrive and slowed the vehicle to a stop just underneath an elken tree on the road to Zedari. "Here," he said as he stepped out of the vehicle grabbing his trenchcoat from the backseats, "you can have the car for the night. I really have something to tend to. No trouble at all, just promise me you'll have fun." Before she could answer, he closed the door and the vehicle resumed its autodrive route to Zedari. He stood watching the final sun set just behind the TMC building, its rays spreading around the structure as it dropped.

Chapter II: Darkness

It had been a couple hours since he departed his vehicle and had taken to standing on the road next to the elken tree. He had watched every single individual leaf snap off the branches and float to the dirt road. He stood monitoring his internal sensors for any sign of mischief, watching as the clouds darkened over Zedari as the rain slowly started to filter its way to the ground, as both Isis and Usirus appeared behind the cloud cover, waiting for the nightlife of Downtown Edge City to die down.

A call startled his wandering mind shortly after nine o'clock. It was Christine. She had detoured just past Zedari up to Erdu to visit their library, and was still there. She wasn't planning on attending the showers and would just make it up the following morning with a better story. She had apologized for having the vehicle after she learned that he had yet to move from the position he had chosen earlier. He reassured her that he was fine, and she needn't worry. He also called Brandon after talking to her to let him know where she was, and that she'd be home later than expected.

Isis centered itself, as the original designs of the city had expected, over Business Park Plaza around one in the morning. Night Squadron, the protective entity of the business district, had started its rounds one hour before. He stood and watched both the distant fields of Zedari and the distant skyscape of Edge City. A bright beam of light shot up from the center of the business district to meet Isis high above before returning to its origin.

Years before, Pat had used a similar principle to power a large electromagnetic emitter for use against the Mainlanders. Lee stood watching as the beam disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared. He tapped a contact on the inside of his wrist disappearing into a white light, the tree behind him shifting slightly under his disappearance. From a building on the south side of Business Park Plaza, he crouched and watched as a female night-dweller and another man talked near the fountain.

After the night-dweller had departed in the direction of Central Plaza, he waited and watched as the man handled a situation with a nosy Night Squadron officer. His internal sensors alerted him three times to a momentary short ranged activation of the time freeze device. Since the deregulation three years ago, only three people on the entire planet possessed remote activation devices--himself, Pat, and Tom, except that Tom had recently misplaced his. He stood in the shadows of the roof of the building and watched as Pat dispatched of the officer, Lee immune to the effects of the device as was the wearer of the watch. He watched as Isis provided the power source for the disposal of the body, then took a step off the ledge of the building landing in the shadows of another building just across from the man below.

He removed his sunglasses in the darkness allowing his acute eyes to enhance the darkened plaza, then he moved to meet the man face to face.

"The watch, now," he demanded just inches from the man's face, from Pat's face. Pat was still wearing the old uniforms from the early days of Special Ops. Pat moved his hand towards the depths of his trenchcoat forcing Lee to backflip out of his range landing a few feet in front of his once partner.

"I was just playing with it, no harm done." Pat yelled as he slowly removed his sword. He dropped down to a ready stance and moved his trenchcoat away from his shoulders. Lee mentally deployed his armored suit, then moved his own coat off his shoulders.

"No excuses, watch, now..." Lee moved into a ready stance, "don't make me take it from you." His internal sensors zoomed in on Pat's body immediately confirming that he posed no threat. It would have been a waste of energy to do anything short of killing the man.

"I'd like to see you try," Pat stowed his sword within its sheath, and motioned for his assailant to commence, "whenever you're ready." Lee sighed heavily before mentally engaging the mobile transporters allowing him to appear just inches in front of Pat. After falling off a building in the middle of the day, and with constant flashbacks to the past demanding his attention, he reserved to allow Pat to keep the watch if for one more day.

Insert elaborate fight scene here

"Fine, but next time, I take the watch with or without your cooperation," Lee cast his left arm towards the trenchcoat causing it to immediately fly into his grasp before turning to face Isis, "give my regards to Tom." He backflipped effortlessly into the shadows of the surrounding buildings before scaling one of them to perch himself upon its elevated ledge. Watching as Pat slowly kneeled down to pick up something, hold it up towards Isis for inspection, then placed the object in a pocket and walked away towards his apartment complex. Lee felt his pocket. My identicard, he thought slinking onto the roof of the building contemplating a possible second encounter with Pat. He decided it was best to turn in for the night, and tapped the transporter contact on his wrist appearing in front of his home, his car sitting in the driveway, a note pinned to a sleepy Fappy on the hood.

"Thank you again for this car, and our car, and Brandon and I send our love. You can do whatever you want to do with Fappy." Lee picked up the cat, walked down the driveway across the street and placed the cat on the Demarantus' lawn, then turned to walk back towards his home in hopes that he could at least get one night's sleep.

If I read passed the grammar, spelling mistakes, and omission of words (and I can do it, and begrudgingly have because even my own works need to be grammar and spellchecked every now and then), it's a very well thought out piece of work. A little touch up work here and there, and you've got a nice story.

I'm impressed, and I don't mean in any kind of insincere, condescending tone that everyone always thinks I do. I really mean it this time. From one writer to another.

Now, the only issue I have is that I actually have to get in shape because I applied for a physical intensive position with the Department of Homeland Security to be a US Border Patrol Agent. So, it's time to get out and start doing stuff rather than not doing stuff. I don't like running (mostly because I am an asthmatic), and I love tennis. So, I guess I'll be out on the courts again and possibly into doing the cardio stuff (which means I will be running anyway) so that I can get back up to the level I was at when I started TSA two years ago. Yay!

But, I get to carry a gun if I get hired...

They're mixed together on the boy side, even though there is a separate girls only. So, technically, the site has a girls only and boys/girls generator.

Boys
Girls

The control tabs are still the same from the girls version, so it will show a skirt where pants should be, and a top where shirts should be, and other stuff like that, but the boy one is the boy one mixed in with some girl stuff.

I like your anime look, and if it matches your actual look, then A+ to you from the generic fashion conscious fag...

They all look so cool, and I redid anime Zoso in the beginning since I found a guitar attached to a certain only style of hooded sweater, but it fits. And the bigger wings make him look badass!

Anyway, when I was going through the libraries, I found so many clothes and other combinations that reminded me so much of my friends that I'm either gonna wait until they make their own, or do it myself as representations of what I think about them. Kind of like the Zoso one I made.

I've been to the beach once a week just because, well, that and I have a car and I do live in southern California and it's just down the freeway 12 miles away. I could bike there (if I had the stamina and a bike), but...now, I guess I'll go right now with the kid just because I can.

Morning had passed and midafternoon had started to seep in before she finally gathered up any effort to move from her position on the back porch. She had spent the last few hours watching the birds circle above her backyard as the cats sunned themselves in the middle of the yard. The disc had been moved from its dusty position on the desk to the small table near the front door. She was ready to leave that morning to meet them for the afternoon showers, but realized that she had no form of transportation to meet Crystle and Tom out in Zedari. Her neighbor across the street, Lee, had left early morning before Brandon for "work" and would not return for at least a couple of hours.

She walked through her quiet home, the cats following closely behind her, and watched through her windows as the silvered Marauder belonging to Lee parked in his driveway. He'll give me a ride, she thought as she walked out the front door grabbing the disc and walked across the street. When she reached the vehicle, the dark tinted windows silhouetted a figure sprawled over the backseats. She leaned in, but was unable to see if it was Lee through the electronically tinted glass. She knew he was wearing his contacts from the depth of the tint, and pulled a pair of jet-black sunglasses from her pocket.

Lee sat up from his position exiting the vehicle and walking around to meet her, his fabricated brown eyes staring painfully at her. She handed him the sunglasses as he removed his contact lenses, his crimson eyes quickly adjusting to the subdued light beneath the oak trees lining the street. He asked about Brandon going to Xodan before turning towards his mailbox retrieving the solitary postcard that Crystle and Tom had sent to all their friends. He shuddered, and placed the postcard back in the mailbox before turning to face her again. He asked her if she was planning to attend the showers again.

"Speaking of which, can I trouble you for a ride? Brandon took the car," she paused to pick up the sponge of a cat and tossed him into the middle of the street hoping the cat would get the hint and head towards the house, "which we absolutely love the car and can't thank you enough for..." Lee held up his hand and turned to walk towards the driver side of his car. She felt like a bother to him, but knew that he never saw her that way even though he led two different lives he only lived one life around her and Brandon.

On the dusty roads outside Oakridge leading towards Zedari, she contemplated the contents of the disc sitting in her pocket, "Um, can you drop me off at the central library in Edge City instead, or the Mass Transit station if it's out of your way?" He slowed the vehicle to a stop, stepped out, and told her she could have the vehicle for the day since he needed to tend to something in the City. Before she could answer, the door shut and the vehicle resumed its autodrive route to Zedari. She turned to watch him stand near the elken tree in the road as he disappeared behind her. "Marauder," she started speaking in the general direction towards the vehicle controls, "please alter course towards Xodan Flats. I'll give specifics upon arrival." The vehicle remapped its course and turned off towards Xodan Flats.

She reached forward touching a communications console button and dialed Lee's phone. She told him that she'd be okay, she had decided on heading up passed Zedari towards Erdu City for their library. A small fib, but she figured there would be no problem with Lee regardless if he found out or not. Satisfied with Lee's answer, she pulled the disc from her pocket and inserted it into the vehicle's holoviewer. The vehicle's windshield dimmed allowing the holoemitters to project images of a giant meteor suspended in front of her. She read over the data streaming on the central console screen as she learned the possible fate of this year's showers. The vehicle moved effortlessly over the unpaved dirt and gravel roads on its way to Xodan. Her study was momentarily interrupted by a bright white beam of light shooting up from far away Edge City behind her.

She immediately thought of Lee, but remembered that he still continued to be an active agent despite his cover as a retired agent, so he would be fine no matter what happened. The vehicle's communications systems alerted her to an incoming communication from Xodan Flats. She answered the comm, Brandon's voice filling the cabin as the vehicle approached the edges of Xodan Flats.

"Lee just called and said you were headed up to Erdu City. So, you're not going to the showers then?"

"No, actually, I'm on my way to see you," she deactivated the holoviewer and removed the disc, "and I have something I want you to look over with me." He sighed on the other end of the line, obviously displeased that she had not informed him prior to her departure towards the inspection site.

"I'd love to, but I've got some things to finish up here," he said but she sensed his displeasure, "and stay away from the inspection site for the time being. It's a really sensitive area." She expressed her love, and they disengaged communications. The vehicle asked for its final destination on its approach to Xodan Flats. She just asked it to stop near the entrance to the main road, and waited for the vehicle to arrive at its destination, the small dust circles kicking up below its tires as it drove on.

From the moment you are conceived you begin to have life experience, the difference being that older humans have more life experience, but you can be wiser at a younger age. The fact that you are seeking advice from the older generation shows that you are indeed mature for your age. I applaud that in you.

One can never have too much life experience, and love is such a trivial and fleeting emotion that it's difficult to quantify into any one right answer. For each person, love means and is a different thing, a different concept. In my experience, I have yet to find true love...I merely find relationships to become semi-dependent on until I find the next one. I'm not a relationship dependent person. The one is out there, and I'm just not actively looking because I just don't care.

I may not be the best for explaining the intricasies of love in its many facets, but I can provide sound advice and other things. I don't think you're too young to experience lust, or a hightened sense of lust and fondness that you may interpret as love, but if you do think you're "in love", don't run off and get married just to show it off to the world. If you truly love this person, you should be able to see yourself doing everything with them, sharing all your experiences (both bad and good) with them, and overall being able to stand them through their good and bad traits. It shouldn't all be about marriage and the material things. In the end, it's always best to trust your heart (even though it's really a chemical reaction in the brain linked to thoughts and memories) in these situations.

Posted on 04-16-05 03:49 PM, in Showers Link
Crystle awoke later that evening on a soft bed overlooking a large skylight. She tried to sit up, but couldn't move. A man dressed in a long, white coat walked around her examining her with a small medical device. He was a tall man, mustached with a small goatie-type beard, and piercing silvered and white eyes. He moved the device slowly over her body, the small beeps and lights swirling on its case, and reached into his coat to show her a small badge. She couldn't focus on it immediately, and resorted to watching the sky just beyond the skylight. It was too clear to be Zedari, but not too bright to be Erdu.

A small, warm smirk appeared on the man's face before he walked to the other side of the vast white room. She had visited the hospitals in Edge City, and had never seen any of them look so clean and white as this one--if she was at the hospital. She swallowed saliva, then slowly spoke in the general direction of the man, "Where's my lab partner? Is he okay?"

The man shifted his instruments around, then walked back over to Crystle helping her to sit up on the bed. Judging by the eyes, and the slight pigmentation of his skin, the airiness of the room, and his clothes, she determined that his triple helix must have been Venitian. He held out his gloved hand motioning for her to receive the small pill hidden in his palm. She held out her hand accepting the pill, and swallowing it before he could tell her what it was.

"I found no one else. You're fortunate that I happened to pass through there this afternoon," he paused to examine a small vial he had removed from a medical machine across the room, "what were you doing out in Zedari during the showers alone?"

Alone?, she thought, where did the rest of them go? Her thoughts shifted to the university instruments and the university vehicle. "I wasn't alone. Did you find a vehicle, laptop and telescope perhaps?"

He pulled a chair from across the room and sat down in front of her, his eyes staring intently into hers, "No. There was nothing more there than yourself underneath an elken tree. At first, I thought you were dead, but noticed that you were still breathing." He reached for her hand, but she moved it away. She slowly stood from the bed and walked towards a window on the opposite end of the room. The sun's warmth filtering through it, she watched a sprawling highway just beyond teaming with vehicles merge its way through the towering buildings. This isn't Edge City, though she thought.

"Where am I? Who are you?" she asked watching a bird fly over the structures outside. In the distance, a small sign came into focus, "Gregorian Bank, San Angeles". She shuddered, and turned to see the man standing near the door.

"I'm sorry, but I was on my way here," he started locking the door, "and I didn't think you'd mind." He stood near the door, moving his coat aside to display a medium sized staff anchored to his belt. She felt her pockets for anything she could use, but found nothing except Tom's cell phone.

"What do you want?" she yelled at him producing the cell phone into her hands. He moved towards the bed before speaking again.

"You're a scientist at the Edge City University, aren't you?", she nodded as he spoke, "Can you explain the showers phenomena to me? You see," he began as he sat on the bed looking up towards the skylight, "the showers are the only natural occurance on the entire planet, and I want to know why. Probably as much as you do."

She lowered the phone hiding it back into a pocket, then walked towards the man, "Yes, since all weather on this artificial planet is controlled artificially, it's very amazing that we have anything naturally occuring like the showers. What's your name?"

He stood from his position and push a contact on a nearby console, the door unlocking in front of him, "There will be time for that later. Take this," he handed her a mobile transporter unit, "and use it to get back to your home. It's the fastest mode of transport without venturing into the city." As soon as her hands touched the device, she was transported to her offices in Edge City at the University.

"Wait," she whispered at her desk overflowing with documents and a note from the Dean of Astrology. She placed the device on her desk and picked up the note.
Dear Thomas and Crystle,

The University van I let you two borrow was returned yesterday night on an autodrive recall, and I sent out two of your students to retrieve the equipment. I don't know where you two have gone since neither of you has made any attempt to contact me. I'm sure you're doing okay, but next time please try to take care of our University equipment. I wouldn't want to lose two of my best scientists.

Please contact me as soon as you get back. I have someone that would like to speak to you on the topic of the showers data we discovered on your laptop.

Regards,

Dean Witter.

She pulled the cell phone out of her pocket, and dialed Tom's home. Nothing. She called Ryan's house next. Myst answered, but Ryan was not home. She placed the phone on Tom's desk and walked towards her desk to inspect the mobile transporter's databanks. It was true, she had spent a number of hours in San Angeles with a Venitian para-human, but why the interest in the showers and her, and how did he know what she did?

Chapter Three: DoxNet

The day before, despite the interruptions and disappearance of both Tom and Ryan, had been productive. She shuffled through the printed data from the laptop, sipping on her Taroxian coffee, sitting at her table in her kitchen overlooking the Great Ocean. A knock at her front door forced her to move from her coziness of home.

She opened the door to find a rather smug looking Pat standing in front of her, he shoved his way in passed her. "I need to talk to you."

"Come in," she started sarcastically closing the door behind her, "what's up?"

He moved to the window peering across the street to the back of Christine's home trying to look beyond to Lee's house. His car was gone meaning that hopefully he was gone as well. "He's still with them," he motioned as he took off his trenchcoat revealing the old Special Ops uniform.

"You still have that! Geez, you never let go of anything, do you?" she gathered her papers and moved back into her chair, "And, no, he's not. You know you all retired at the same time, moved out here, and now he works for HyWire."

He banged his fist on her table knocking over one of the empty coffee cups, rousing Crystle's puppy, Tyr, from his slumber beside the table, "No! I tell you he's still working for them. I know, I have proof." He removed the pilfered identicard from his pocket and slapped it onto the table.

"You stole Lee's identicard!" she picked it up and examined it. Near the bottom, clearly printed, the word "RETIRED" appeared. "See, he's still retired. It says the same thing your i-card does. All ex-government personnel have that stamp. If he was still active," she pocketted the card, "he wouldn't have the stamp."

He replaced his trenchcoat and headed for the door, forgetting the i-card, "I'll prove it to all of you, he's still working for them," and headed out the door. Another adventure with Pat ended, she touched a contact on her kitchen's communicator systems dialing up Lee at HyWire. He was at a meeting, but his receptionist said that she'd tell him that Crystle had his identicard. Pleased with her good deed, she placed the card near her replicator plate and removed Tyr's food from the plate placing it on the ground for the rambunctious yellow and white fluffy puppy. His tails wagged incessantly behind him as he ate his food from his little bowl. She sat at the kitchen table again browsing through an image of the anomaly's data. There was something missing, but she couldn't see it.

*Confiscates the gift placing it under a shield used specifically for these purposes, then walks away. The shield creates a small vacuum around the gift, then detonates the contents. Walks back and removes the shield examining the debris...a clock duct taped to a six-pack of beers.**

Oh, well, knowing Beo, better safe than sorry. I'll get you another clock. Very Simpson-esque...

I had two pets, so:

Gizmo Armstrong
Tony Armstrong

Either way, it's cool, and I don't want to be a porn star. I'd rather be a fluffer...
