| I don't have a broad range of games that I continually play. I have a set few until I get bored, then I move on. Let's break this down into two categories: The games I'm currently playing, and the games I have to continue.
Katamari Damacy That game is just that addicting, I mean, rolling around picking up cities looking for stuff and junk and presents and people... It has it's own merits. Metropolismania The other passion of mine from the country that brought us such wonders as Kikoman and Katamari Damacy, a game where your entire purpose is to maintain a city and its residents happy. Kind of like the Sims and Sim City, but in more anime cuter way. The Sims The original game that spawned the empire that motivates us to create ourselves in a digital way and control ours and our friends digital lives. Ah, the endless wonder. | I, personally, never understood the hangups in my sub-culture with labelling and identifying ourselves in heterosexual terms...
I have no desire to get married if only for tax purposes (more $$$) I have no desire to classify myself as either a top, bottom, or both. That's entirely a hetero way of thinking. I have no desire for trying to figure out who the man or woman of a gay relationship is. Again, hetero thinking at its best. My coworkers have gotten past the sexuality issue because there was never an issue to begin with. They had questions, I had answers. That was it. I'm just another person to them just like they're just other people to me. As soon as we as a human race learn to deviate away from defining ourselves on the basis of religion, ethnicity, creed, beliefs, sexual preference, or whathaveyou, we'll maybe begin to evolve into the utopian society we'd like to be. But, there are always the pigheaded of the world. Example. The world around me is populated by human beings...sometimes. I don't see Jewish faiths, Catholics, Pagans, Druids... I don't see Mexicans, Americans, Australians, Canadians... I don't see gay, straight, lesbian, bisexual... I see people. We're all made up of the same things, we all operate in similar day to day functions, and we all bleed if stabbed. I never, and still don't, understood why we're segregated into individual races when we're all one big race...human. If only my Paradox Island world existed, but unfortunately, Earth had to be destroyed to create the world of Paradox Island... |

| As an adult, I feel its my need to be corny. It happened to your parents, it happened to your teachers, its happening to me (and I'm listening to a Rockapella version of "It's A Small World" right now), and it will happen to you. Your kids will confirm it.
Also, it's not that difficult to achieve...the only issue at hand is religion. It's what causes all the problems. Mostly everything that our society experiences in a negative fashion can be linked back to religion. The religious war between the Irish and the Protestants. The religious war between the Catholics and the Christian. The war between the Scientologists, and mentally capable human beings. It's just there. I'm sorry, but if you think I'm corny...then I'm corny. My deduction, you're just an ass. That's it. So, yes, I'm the gay version of Radio Shack, I suppose. Now you can't tell me that your saying that wasn't corny either, can you? |

| Good question, first things first: There are no humans as we know them. They've been obliterated by a higher alien race, and Earth no longer exists. In its image, a second planet was created from scratch...Earth II. Earth Prime, or Terran as its referred to sometimes, is just a dust cloud. The few that survived--not human, but a permutation--live on Mars and the Moon. A couple millions miles away, just past Alpha Centauri, lies the synthetic Earth II, with it's three suns of varying intensities, and two moons.
The higher race, which will later be identified because it's crucial to the story, so I'm not elaborating here, created the newer humans based on the original concept of the utopian society they wished to create on Earth Prime. Unfortunately, their first experiment with the pure humans perished since they were too closed minded to see themselves as one race rather than the individual races, sub-cultures, and categories that existed. So, experiment over, phase two begin. On Earth II, the new breed considered an evolved version of humans, the reigning species are known as meta-humans. They're all human beings cross-breeded with an extra strand of DNA from another alien species. And, while only a small percentage of the total population actually remotely resembles the original human species, they're all still considered meta-human. The previous human element contained a double helix of DNA, both of human origin. The newer meta-humans possess an extra helix, producing the trademark meta-human triple helix, of an additional alien race. The myriad combinations produce evolved humans with the inherent abilities of select species, giving them a higher view of the world...allowing them to achieve that utopian society the higher beings so envisioned. Where the stories come in, a major war has taken place centuries after the creation of Earth II, when it opened itself up to other alien species to live on the planet. Much to the dismay of the higher beings, some of the meta-humans felt that these alien species don't belong on their planet, and thus, after a great war, the planet's culture has split: the gentle, higher planed meta-humans residing on the large island of Paradox; and the closed-minded warring meta-humans (whom have renownced the term meta-human, and simply refer to themselves as para-humans) whom reside on the Mainland. The other continents of the planet are mostly inhabited by random species of animal, so most of the world's activity centers on Paradox Island and the Mainland. The Mainland, however, has recently changed face and decided to make amends with the meta-humans and other species. It seems fishy, but the story will take on that route. Mainlanders want to reestablish the utopian society of old, but it's going to be difficult. Or, are they after something that only Paradox Islanders have? Okay, enough background. Meta-humans have no definite descriptions. But, I can summarize the characters introduced thus far, and maybe that will help until I can provide a definite race list. It'll also help if I ever plan on spinning the storylines off into an RPG. (and yes, I know I could have created a table, I chose not to) Lastname, First Name------Species-------3rd Helix------Comments Almodovar, Lee---------------Meta-human--Eckta'arian--Appearance is human-like, yet possesses a strong knowledge of computers, mathematics, and logic as well as fighting tactical abilities. However, since combination of human and Eckta'arian DNA, he possess little ability to actually physically harm anyone. Depends heavily on technology for conflict management. Improved agility and reflexes, darkened red eyes optimized for night vision, enhanced internal awareness of lifeforce energies. Trademark Eckta'arian nose ridge only distinguishing feature. (Unknown), Crystle---------Meta-human--Nisian--------Appearance is more Nisian-like; tall, yet slightly slender, long flowing hair, enhanced combat skills, yet highly protective of nature. Enhanced intelligence, able to handle complex equations and theories like child's play. Trademark Nisian green eyes, enhanced olfactory senses (smell) for detection of changes in nature. (Unknown), Tom-----------Nisian-----------N/A------------Native Nisian from the planetary system of Nisia, possesses all native abilities of a Nisian including surpassed ability of numerical manipulation, ability to manipulate nature to his will, and excellent agility useful in hand-to-hand combat. A rogue from his species, he migrated to Earth II to follow a more intellectual career rather than enlisting in his planet's military forces. Trademark Nisian green eyes, Nisian lighter skin pigmentation, and Nisian green blood. Now, I have to sit down and map out the other races, but I'll continue the post after someone else posts on Garrett, Christine Demarantus, Brandon Demarantus, Rosy, Tracy, Big Tom, and the slain Night Squadron officer. |

| She turned away from the fountain starting on her trek towards Central Plaza, a few hours away from the cresting of the first sun over the horizon. Her thoughts filled with images of her beloved Taroxian sitting at the security desk of the Centurian Apartments oblivious to her quest that night. Her flowing hair resting gently on her shoulders as she walked through the crisp, cold night air past the harsh cold building of Business Park Plaza, past the towering abodes of busy Edge City life, towards the heavily guarded enormous trees of Central Plaza.
It was that time of year again, shortly before the annual showers, when the Nisian trees shed their enormous oranges requiring Paradoxian government to control access to the Plaza to prevent any injuries from the massive fruits. Each year, this restriction severed traffic flow from Edge City to Central Plaza to the majestic regions of Palau Town. Tracy, the self-proclaimed sorceress she believed herself to be, had left a few weeks earlier leaving her apprentice, Rosy, to tend to things in Oakridge by herself. Tracy, with inherent psychic abilities far supassing those of the long-gone Terran mediums, had ceased communications a few days earlier leaving an eerily aura of danger in her final communication. Rosy felt it was best to find her training master as it seemed that Tracy may have encountered a few obstacles she may not be able to handle. Rosy's cloak swayed slowly with each step she took, the sound of her soft footsteps echoing off the walls of the building. Isis shone directly above, with Usirus just beyond the main moon, the moonlight filtering through the gray mist of midnight around the shadows of the buildings. | No, I see what happened. I accidently reversed them. Well, next post, I'll actually summarize the intent, characteristics, and appearances of the full races, followed by the meta-races, then the remainder of the characters. Also, I'll explain the last name thing and go into further depth on the descriptions of Edge City and Erdu, followed by a later post on Zedari, Zedari Field, Xodan Flats, and Palau Town.
Later on, I'll reveal a few more things about the Mainland, and the conflicts that led to where the stories start now. |

| When Earth II was created, the higher beings felt that they should keep elements of Earth Prime, but felt the need to erase other elements. One of those was that of married lastnames.
On Terran (Earth Prime), when one got married (be they straight or gay), they took the lastnames of their husbands, a hyphenated version of both lastnames, or kept their lastnames individually with no change. This way, some generations died, and other lived on. This often brought anxiety to the humans of Terran, so it was done away with on Earth II. Paradoxian, as well as Mainland, law states that beings upon making a marriage-like union (since a marriage doesn't have the same connotation as it had once on Terran) must take a mutated version of both their lastnames, thereby effectively terminating any existence of a generation... For example, in the series thus far we've learned of only one lastname (besides mine because I'm still single) permutation: Demarantus. Christine's maiden name, if you can call it that since it's also a permutation of her parents, was Amarantus. Brandon's maiden last name, also a permutation of his parents, was Demaria. Upon marriage (for lack of a better term) they decided upon Demarantus...combining the "De" and "marantus" part of both last names. Therefore, both the legacy of Demaria and Amarantus were terminated, producing the newer Demarantus...which will in turn be terminated if they choose to have children that later on marry other people, and so on... Since the Mainland has taken to rebelling, they've adopted the ways of old, but are forcing their women to take on their husbands lastnames. So, you'll find that many more women inhabit Paradox Island because of the varying depths of legal freedom. Even though Edge City possesses an elite Night Squadron (purpose to be explained in a later post), there are still much freedoms on the Island as compared to the Mainland. Given that, if you've got a character in this series, and I choose to marry you guys off, I'll encounter the task of lastname creation. So, it might be good to start thinking of something since the only definite rule of Paradoxian Law states that it must be a permutation of both last names, containing elements of each, and not an entirely made up lastname. |

| Wow, you so contradicted yourself so many times, and also, you've managed yet again to confuse me so much...
In a way, I agree with the essence of your argument, if we break it down to the inherent governmental pursuit of happiness (which is a trait of American government, not so much of the world as a whole) and expand upon that to the human nature pursuit of happiness, then we've hit something. But, I'm also highly disappointed that you chose to reiterate upon things such as differentiating between heterosexuality (which does mean straight, and doesn't need to be clarified) and homosexuality (which does mean gay, and also doesn't need to be clarified), but if you're going to choose on condensing words down to basic elements, why choose "straight" and the often derogatory "homo"? Why not aim for some uniformity, and decide upon calling yourself "hetero" and my entities as "homo"? Or, another permutation as "straight" and "gay"? All that aside, I've forgotten what the initial argument to this thread was...be it sexual preference? I believe so. I don't know why something like this always, without fail, spins off into something about religions, ethics, homosexual marriage, mental capacity (or lack thereof), morals, and other factors that just don't need to be mentioned or otherwise be present for the debate/conversation--whatever--blah. I take great offense to trying to determine what is right or wrong based on the ideals of a rather skewed societal structure (the entire planet, not just one societal structure). Is it so impossible to just be without questioning? Is it so impossible to just accept without questioning? Does it matter if something is just not explained, is just not drawn out to the form of understanding something, is just not fully within the realm of our 10% capable thought? What if, our views were flipped over, and heterosexuals were persecuted for being straight? What if homosexuals ruled the planet with the same ideals as that of heterosexual beings? What if we walked on our hands? What if we're not really alive, and we're just living our dreams only to wake up just slightly before our deaths? What if we only exists as figments of each other's imaginations? What then? Look, whether I was straight, gay, bi-curious, bisexual, asexual, or whatever little classification you'd like to come up with, I'd still be me. And, that's the only important thing. | You want to try odds, I'll give you odds.
Try scoring in the top 95 percentile for a very difficult multitasking examination for a 911 emergency dispatcher position with the city of Los Angeles. Try going in for the interview two years later (yes, 2 years), only to be told that your odds of getting the job is 1/3 of the total applicants. There are fifty spots, and 150 applicants. I'm one of those 150. I won't know anything until May, and if I'm in, class won't start until June. Then, I have to pass another examination, and go through a whole other interview process. Try that on for size. Tough luck on that, but life is just a series of interviews... At Tower Records, we are always taking applications, but we're not always hiring. There is a difference, that, and people before you might have taken the position before they finished interviewing. Companies should wait until they're done with all the interviews before deciding, but oftentimes they don't. Target's a bitch anyway. Work for Tower. Discounts on CDs, games, and such. Or, do my job. | Relax? There is no relaxing. That word simply doesn't fit in the same sentence with "exams". Quizzes maybe. Tests maybe, but not exams. Relaxing comes after you've failed the exam, and accepted it. That's it.
Which reminds me, I have to drop my classes before it's too late in the semester. You just go in, B.S. your way through the exam, then leave accepting your failure. That's it. Or, you don't go to class at all, and then just play around knowing that you've failed without making an effort. Sometimes, I just forgot that I had exams mostly because I didn't attend class. The exams that I could pass were my prouder moments, but still a little unnerving when you're taking the test. Fortunately, some instructors allow you to leave once you're done with the exam... |

| Kind of like stating that you're for gay rights, but you don't want gay relationships to do something that is physically impossible (childbirth is impossible in males (human), regardless of how much a gay couple might want a child that way), which in turn contradicts your opinion effectively cancelling it out.
Gay families have every right to raise children, and in fact should do so because they'd be less likely to impart a vengeful, racist, or otherwise intolerant impact on their progeny. |

Back in the last few days of Terran, the world was beginning to evolve its internet into a globalnet using the more evolved technologies at the time. Since Terran was destroyed, the GlobalNet began anew on Earth II. On Terran, the globalnet was exclusively controlled by the government giving high speed access only to its officials. This was counterproductive to the whole idea of a utopian society, so Earth II has a full access pass to the GlobalNet, with a restricted access level strictly for government known as DoxNet. Before, I go too in depth on the GlobalNet, you'll receive a brief introduction of the various GlobalNet interfaces available on Earth II. Also, you'll have to realize that almost every electronic/electrical structure on Earth II is connected to the GlobalNet. Select devices have access to DoxNet mostly because it is a government structure, and not everyone needs access. I'll summarize DoxNet on another post. First, we'll cover those I've already introduced. In Domain, we come into the storyline with Pat, a rogue hacker from the days of old whom used to reside on the Mainland. His past is a little hazy right now, but we'll get into that when the time comes. Being that he's gadget savvy, he's got a nice access to GlobalNet through the old standard...computers. The standard desktop interface, his entire apartment is wired to G-Net (as the hackers call it), his building is wired to G-Net, and he carries both a watch with access to DoxNet and a mobile tablet type computer with dual access to DoxNet and G-Net. In Boundaries and Paradox, we're briefly introduced to my character, whom has connections to major industries and companies on Paradox Island...one of those being the developer and keeper of GlobalNet and DoxNet. His vehicle, later mentioned in detail, is linked directly to DoxNet. His phone, his watch, and his other gadgets are all linked directly to both GlobalNet and DoxNet. Judging thus far from the people that are linked to DoxNet, you can figure out something about their present and past since DoxNet requires that one must have worked for/is working for the government. In Dark Diaries, the replicator plates and holoviewers are linked to the G-Net for purposes of downloading new recipes and new forms of entertainment, respectively. In Darkness, Ryan only has one device knowingly connected, his laptop accesses G-Net on a daily basis to provide whatever information he may be requesting, and others that he doesn't. His Electriz also connects to G-Net, but Ryan doesn't know about that. It's main purposes are for updates to its onboard systems, mapping software, and navigational instruments. In Showers, Crystle and Tom have access to a subset of the G-Net reserved for educational research ventures known as EduNet. With EduNet, and G-Net, they're able to keep track of all the occurances on Earth II and the surrounding solar systems in conjunction with their research. EduNet often entitles them limited access to DoxNet, and sometimes the older Internet (only existent on Mars and the older Terran Moon). All forms of GlobalNet are fully backwards compatible with the Internet, but the Internet can't interface too well with GlobalNet, EduNet, DoxNet, and the other subsets of the G-Net. TransNet handles all traffic for the planet, any form of automated transportation systems, the space/airport, the mass transit systems, the synchronization between consumer vehicles, the downloads and maintenance of private and public vehicles, and anything else directly affecting the transportation of citizens...including elevators and lifts. More on this to follow, I have to get Rogue and myself to school. |
