It's a V for Vendetta trailer redone using Sesame Street characters:

Yeah, that's how it works.

I IM you, then get up and walk away from the computer. Much like I do other people. Why? Because I'm hungry or I forgot my headphones in the car or something else.

How come no one in our group throught to get a photo of Death? Is Death just not meant to be taken pictures by our group?

I had too much fun making the Puritans grovel. I want to go again on Sunday, if only for that.

And Death!! Why are there no pictures of Death? Plenty of other people stole Death's souls, but no one in our group possibly thought of capturing Death with his awesome scythe (thank you, Oni)?

Yeah. Well. Must make Puritans tremble now...

Wrong again, Mr. Man.

The New York one was redone based on the original Japanese one. Since Nintendo is a Japanese country, and most of the games that are here are released there, where do you think the original commercial was filmed in? Japan, right.

So, and stick with me here (let me know if I'm going too fast), the American one would obviously have to be done....in America. Yes, so a place that mirrors Japan's Tokyo would be...New York's Time Square. Good. Now, here's the kicker: I don't have one! Ha!

Use the noggin every now and then. It'll keep you out of trouble, and away from my correcting you.

SAJIN!! FREAKIN DOLLAR SIGN BEFORE THE NUMBERS!! BEFORE!! IT'S NOT WRITTEN THE WAY IT'S SPOKEN!! HELL, EVEN SETICUS GOT IT RIGHT!!

We're up to $3.19 at the Mobil station, $3.27 at ARCO, $3.43 at the Fuel for Less, in Paramount. And we're supposed to be the cheapest city in LA County. I expect an increase to just over $4 in the next few months. But, I'd think about investing in fuel companies since we need to spend on gas no matter how high it gets.

I want my Prius more now. Or, the Citroen C4.

Oh god no. Are they trying to incite a riot or kill the whole fandom thing? Who the fuck figured out that Affleck would be a good Kirk? No. I mean Shatner's a dork now, but back in the day, he could only be Kirk.

By English grammar standards, the above sentences imply that you believe the Japanese Mario Advance commercial to be redone. Not that the American one was redone. To imply that, one would have to insert the subject of the American commercial, otherwise, the general implication to everything here is a Japanese commercial. Since, the topic of the thread is Japanese Commerials.

Also, Nintendo is a country. You've obviously never been to Japan. Or experienced the awesome power that is Nintendo. I think there was a campaign in the 80s/early-90s declaring Nintendo its own country....of Japan...as a marketing ploy. Ah, the days of the NES and the S-NES. Remember Mario Paint? I don't.

Yes, Nintendo is a Japanese company, as well. But, they might as well be their own country. Like Sony and Microsoft. Hell, Microsoft should just take over the moon and be its own planet...ary satellite.

Old Sesame Street was just more awesome than current Sesame Street. I mean, these videos and the one about Cookie Monster losing his cookie at the Disco...priceless.

I have more fun talking to SmarterChild or Zoso.

Since I was hit by two bots, but blocked both (corporate AIM), I had no such encounters. However, I do find it odd that both you and I were approached by this bot at the same time.

BRAIN TEASER

From "Brain in a Vat," in issue number 13 of bOING bOING, a quarterly
published in Los Angeles. The scenario was originally posted anonymously
on the Internet.

Consider the following case: A brain in a vat is at the wheel of a runaway trolley
approaching a fork in the track. The brain is hooked up to the trolley in such
a way that the brain can determine which course the trolley will take. There
are only two options: the right side of the fork or the left side. There is no way
to derail or stop the trolley and the brain is aware of this. On the right side of
the track there is a single railroad worker, Jones, who will definitely be killed
if the brain steers the trolley to the right. If Jones lives he will go on to kill five
men for the sake of thirty orphans (one of the five men he will kill is planning
to destroy a bridge that the orphans' bus will be crossing later that night). One
of the orphans who will be killed would have grown up to become a tyrant
who made good, utilitarian men do bad things, another would have become
John Sununu, and a third would have invented the pop-top can.

If the brain in the vat chooses the left side of the track, the trolley will definitely
hit and kill another railman, Leftie, and will hit and destroy ten beating hearts
on the track that would have been transplanted into ten patients at the local
hospital who will die without donor hearts. These are the only hearts available,
and the brain is aware of this. If the railman on the left side of the track lives,
he, too, will kill five men--in fact, the same five that the railman on the right
would kill. However, Leftie will kill the five as an unintended consequence of
saving ten men: he will inadvertently kill the five men as he rushes the ten hearts
to the local hospital for transplantation. A further result of Leftie's act is that the
busload of orphans will be spared. Among the five men killed by Leftie is the
man responsible for putting the brain at the controls of the trolley. If the ten
hearts and Leftie are killed by the trolley, the ten prospective heart-transplant
patients will die and their kidneys will be used to save the lives of twenty
kidney-transplant patients, one of whom will grow up to cure cancer and one
of whom will grow up to be Hitler. There are other kidneys and dialysis
machines available, but the brain does not know this.

Assume that the brain's choice, whatever it turns out to be, will serve as an example
to other brains in vats, and thus the effects of its decision will be amplified. Also
assume that if the brain chooses the right side of the fork, an unjust war free of war
crimes will ensue, whereas if the brain chooses the left fork, a just war fraught with
war crimes will result. Furthermore, there is an intermittently active Cartesian demon
deceiving the brain in such a way that the brain is never sure if it is being deceived.

Question: Ethically speaking, what should the brain do? Justify your answer

Found this on the net. Given the circumstances, I would choose to kill Leftie. But my decision is not at stake here, the main decision is of the brain, that is devoid of emotion to carry out this task and is merely concentrating on reasoning and deduction based on what it knows. Since it has no emotional ties to anything, and can only operate on what it thinks to be right and wrong, what would it choose?

Discuss.

Posted on 05-03-06 05:32 PM, in Being A Mom Should Pay at Least $120K a year. Link
Originally posted by Reuters.com
A mother who works outside the home would earn an extra $85,876 annually on top of her actual wages for the work she does at home, according to the study by Waltham, Massachusetts-based compensation experts Salary.com.

To reach the projected pay figures, the survey calculated the earning power of the 10 jobs respondents said most closely comprise a mother's role -- housekeeper, day-care teacher, cook, computer operator, laundry machine operator, janitor, facilities manager, van driver, chief executive and psychologist.

"You can't put a dollar value on it. It's worth a lot more," said Kristen Krauss, 35, as she hurriedly packed her four children, all aged under 8, into a minivan in New York while searching frantically for her keys. "Just look at me."

So, if this actually ever happened, mom would be making as much as a CEO or judge. Wow.
