| While I didn't get to play the Wii because of the long line and my failure to get up in the morning *headdesk*, I did get to see the Wii controllers in action a lot (staring around corners of the Wii area), and I am much impressed. Sure, it's a learning curve, but it's more natural to use a Wii controller as the object its supposed to represent on-screen rather than trying to fly a spaceship while working buttons (PS3--Warhawk).
Wii is the awesome, though. I would rather get a Wii than a PS3, of which I never actually saw connected to the controllers, so I believe we were all playing Dev Kit computers instead of the actual machine. However, watching people play the Zelda demo at E3 was just awesome, especially anything involving the archery. Truly amazing. Had I woken up on time, I so would have been in that line. It's not worth it for two hours. However, I was screaming "Wii!!" at the top of my lungs at Nintendo booth babes for free DS Lite cases and Wii tote bags. I didn't get either. *pout* Instead, I have a Marvel Alliance poster from Activision that I don't want. I might just ship to someone on the board, but whom? |

| A video trailer, different than the one on the net, was shown at E3 in the main South Hall on the last day of E3 regarding FFXIII. It looks totally awesome. My coworkers and I were totally drooling. If it wasn't for Square Enix workers fluttering about making sure that people weren't taking pictures or video, I totally would have taped it. My coworker has footage of him being told to stop taping by a SE drone.
So, I confirmed PS3 and XBOX 360 (maybe). Now, I'm torn on whether I should get a 360 (for only one game I want that is only 360--Deadrising) or a PS3 (for Final Fantasy and a few other titles) or the Wii (for Zelda and whatever weird other thing Nintendo can throw my way). *pout* |

| See, my issue is just that. I don't carry change. I carry plastic. If the bums just took MasterCard or Visa, they'd be set. Sure, I can spare an electronic dollar here and there. I just really don't have the physical change anymore. I don't carry coin--it's in the car's cupholder. I don't carry paper cash--there's usually no more than $15 in my wallet at any one time. | |||

| Yeah, but none of you played the game. I did. I love it. It looks horrible, the concept is weird and I don't quite get it, but gameplay on the PS2, XBOX 360, and NGC (maybe Wii) were just awesome.
But, since I focus on gameplay more now than I ever did before (because I am a tester), I guess I really don't care much about Sonic attempting to have a storyline, attempting to give more conflict to the characters than they need, and trying to tie all this into a killer game for the coming year. Still, flashy lights and sounds kept me at the SEGA booth for a good...ten minutes. |

| They had girls twirling fire and half-naked men at the NC Soft booth next door. That's why I was only at SEGA for ten minutes.
You do realize that as more developers explore the powers of the newer systems, more and more games are going to start evolving into copies of this. You just gotta let go of the old concepts and realize that companies change things to go with something remotely fresh. They're not really gonna care if you don't like it because you like to old Sonic stuff. They care about competing with other companies for games that they make that capture your money. That's why Sonic is evolving into what it is now. No longer a side-scrolling, generic world of capture the rings and defeat the boss. It is morphing into its own newer style of gaming where the characters exhibit a degree of conflict and interest in one-another, and the two-D sidescrolling has been shattered into a world of dynamic 3D adventures. Obviously, if this scares you because it add a different degree of challenge that Sonic never possess, then of course you'll think the game is lame. But having play it, and fallen many times, I see what it is they are trying to accomplish. It will be a good game, regardless of whether it makes it to store shelves in its current version, or some oddly mutated side-scroller with better graphics on a faster, more capable system. So, do you want the industry to be held back because the original Sonic series was and always has been just an awesome side-scroller and possibly force SEGA and Sonic to disappear, or do you want the classics to continue to evolve along with the newer systems, keeping good character concepts around?
