| I joined when the board was still at evogaming.netho.tk. Yeah, that old. So, it's been a long time. If you add up my previous posts from the previous wipe along with my current posts, I've surpassed the 5000 mark already.
Again, I took the wrong bus. I was head for Gay Porn Land, which is on the 116 Southbound, but I ended up taking the 115 Southbound to Evogaming. I liked the area, and there was a house for sale in the Story Realm, so I bought it and moved in. There have been many changes and parties on that street and in Role Play Realm, so I like it. And, now, there's a (well, it stopped growing) black hole in my front yard that selectively sucks objects and people into the Asylum, often ending up in Xeo's closet. Ah, the memories. Damn kids can't live on my lawn or run around on it anymore. Most of it is gone. And camping out on it involves falling into that hole. I just swing over it now to get to the street. No one seems to mind that it sucked in the mysteriously creepy cat lady from across the street. |

| It's left over from the United States Ship. In the Star Trek Universe, all of Earth is united, but there is still the United States. As such, since most of Starfleet is present and governed in the United States, the Federation keeps the USS portion of ship assignments. Earth belongs to the United Federation of Planets, but still has individual countries and continents. The difference is that all of Earth is governed by an extension of US democracy (since the creator is American), evolved over four centuries, and unified to encompass the entire world. Since this is the future, and all of the world is united, the classification USS stands for "United Star Ship", or in the case of The Original Series, "United Space Ship".

| No, we are both correct. However, his information is current, and mine is outdated.
The original NCC designation was an extension of Roddenberry's Cessna's designation: NC. He added an extra C, and shortened his registry number to arrive at NCC-1701. In turn, he made the NCC stand for Navigational Communications Code, because at the time the Original Series was being filmed, it would have made greater sense. As years passed, some 20 years later, the producers of the newer shows changed the meaning to Naval Construction Contract, since most ships were being shown as they were built in the movies and shows. To make sense of it all, most trekkie sources adopt the later version of NCC. In turn NX, derived from a prototype designation of New eXperiment, is placed in place of the NCC designation when used for a newer ship class, experimental ship, or prototype ship. -- Lt.
