*Kendrick pops his head back through the door. He calls out somewhat indignantly.*

We going to the training sim. room or what?

*He stands in the doorway awaiting a response.*

I have an idea as to how to customize him a bit if you are interested in hearing it. Having a slight change of appearance between the two personalities, say a change in eye color or a slight change in hair shade, would give make him a little different. Also, you could make one of the personalities female, or better yetm make it alien (make the crazy one an alien psyche, and that could explain it's hate of coffee and tea).

Just some ideas... but that is a cool idea. I never would have thought of that.

*Kendrick watches the screens, when he sees the pillar crumble he chuckles to himself.*

Serves the soul searching bastard right.

*Kendrick continues to watch the screen, hoping to see Ki fall to a rather painful demise, but seeing Ki catch himself, Kendrick curses under his breath.*

*Kendrick steps forward.*

I'll go next.

*Kendrick steps over to the door and puts his thumb to the pad. The machine pricks his finger as it takes his DNA sample, then the door slides open, he steps over to the middle of the room and waits for the simulation to begin.*

When the shit hits the fan like it has for you, there really isn't much to do. A friend of mine has been going through a really hard time recently, and I have been talking to her a lot about it... actually she talks to me and I listen... but that is not the point. I will tell you the same thing that I told her. When you try to worry about so much at one time, it will overwhelm you. It gets the best of us. But if you break it down, and only worry about one or two problems at a time, and just forget about the rest until you can deal with them, it will make it more bearable. I understand that it can be difficult to do, as this is the way I deal with many of my own problems, but even forgetting the small issues for a short time can really help you stay sane... and look to the future, the good things that will happen. Consider what life will be like when you move out, or get married, you pick it, the subject isn't what matters, just the occupation of your mind. And when all else fails... just lock yourself in your room and cry... hey it works for me sometimes (that's right I cry every now and then and damn proud to be willing to admit that).

Other than that, I don't have any advise. But I hope everything straightens out for you, and these issues will resolve themselves soon. I would say feel free to call me if you want to talk about it... but I don't really know you so that would be somewhat difficult... Hang in there, you'll get through it.

*Kendrick wrenches the man's wrist violently. The elbow cracks against his skull and stars explode in front of his eyes, but he does not lose his grip. He launches his free hand up to grab hold of the other man's throat.*

*Kendrick twists as much as he can, catching a glancing shot across the stomach. He lets go of the man's hand and grabs the knife, rolling it in his hand he holds it in a reverse grip and steps into the man. Reaching around behind him, he slams the knife into the base of the man's skull.*

Name: Barrek Firehand
Age: 25
Faction: Marinae
Shards: He carries a shard that allows him to control the volatile forces of fire. It was given to him by his father, and he carries it on a chain around his neck. His father also entrusted him with a strange crystal that appears to be amethyst at first glance, but has tiny impercfections at the center. He wears this on an armband on his right wrist, but it is never seen due to the leather gloves he always wears.

Weapons: The aility to command fires (large and small), 1 9-millimeter pistol, and an M-26 assault rifle (similar to an M-16, but has a laser guided micro-rocket launcher with a C-5 warhead), cigarette lighter with an old U.S. flag on it.

Physical descripion: (I am going to do something different with this guy) Standing at a whopping 5 foot 2 inches and weighing a massive 150 lbs he is by no means an impressive figure, but in his heart burns a hate more powerful than any stature. He seems to always have a cigarette lit, though were he gets them these days is unknown. He dresses in camoflauge, usually urban which is a mottled array of blacks and greys, and always wears black leather gloves and black combat boots. His blonde hair is close cropped.

Background: He was in college when the meteorite hit, studying to become an astro-physisist like his father. His father was among the first to study the shards, and he had found a very interesting phenomenon within the shards, though he was murdered before he could expose it to the world. The murders were the future leaders of the Suvoj faction. He believes his father's records still exist, and that he could determine what his father had found, and find the reason why he was killed. Seeking revenge, when the Marinae faction was formed, he joined them, hoping to avenge his father's death.

Pluto must beb classified as a planet on the basis that it is a stellar body too large to be a comet or metor that is locked into orbit around the sun. While it's orbit may be more like that of a comet, it could be explained by a stellar collision with another body, possibly the infamous "Planet X" that we are always hearing about, yet has never (unless rather recently) been found. That and the fact that we have called it a planet for how many fucking years?

Posted on 09-08-06 09:53 PM, in Hell as explained by a chemistry student Link
This is something I got in an email from someone that I do ren-faires with... I thought it was funny as hell... forgive the pun. Here it is... (too bad there is no fire or devil smiley)

Hell, as explained by a chemistry student

The following is a question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so profound that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

*Bonus Question*: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

“First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:

If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, ‘it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you’, and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct…leaving only Heaven thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why last night, Teresa kept shouting “Oh my God.”

I would say Windows... Mac sucks on several levels... one is the mouse (HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO USE THAT THING!??), second... they are not anywhere near as durable as they claim to be. I can get one to crash just by looking at it (yes... I have done it before). I have not had a PC crash on me in about 9 years... any mac I touch crashes in 0.65 seconds. That and the fact that vulnerability to viruses is about your Anti-virus software, I don't see how the computer producer itself would effect that.

And just in short... Apple needs a new naming system... the guy who names stuff the I-MAC and the I-BOOK... needs to be shot.... hell.... i saw an I-STORE about a month ago... had to stop a friend of mine from charging in and bashing stuff (maybe not quite that bad... but he hates the naming system too)

*(The return of ANYNDIR!!! YAY!!) A man wearing a lightweight chain shirt strides through one of the arches in the collesium. A large green cloak is draped around his shoulders, and the hood hides his face. Black gloves cover his hands and a pair of swords rest at his hips, one set with a ruby in which seem to roar flames of such intensity as to be from the elemental plane of fire itself. The other with a sapphire so blue as to give the impression of extreme cold. Tucked into his leather boots are a pair of daggers, the well crafted mythril hilts glistening in the starlight. His legs and arms are covered in protective leather. With a wave of his hand, numerous glowing balls of flame appear out of nowhere, floating above the battlefield. He reaches up and pulls down the hood of his cloak, letting his snow white hair fall down his back. He tucks a few loose strands behind his pointed ears as his eyes fall on Darynia. One of his eyes is the same shade of blue as the sapphire in his sword, his other eye as red as the ruby in the other. Of particular note, is his skin, which is an obsidian black, marking him as a dark elf, a Drow. He slowly pulls his swords from their sheaths, and he looks at the sword with the sapphire, the blade so cold as to have air freeze instantly upon it, a soft blue glow radiates from it. The other throws yet more light on the area, a sheet of flame lifting off of it. He regards the cold sword for a moment.*

I understand your concern Anarinal. *He says to the sword.* But this is the only way to return home... I wish there was another.

*The sword seems to pulse with energy, then the glow fades slightly, the cold seeming less potent. He looks to the other sword.*

I don't ask you to help me with this Jernalin, you may lie dormant for the time if you wish... I don't want this any more than the two of you.

*Another moment passes, then the flames seem to die down some. Anyndir looks back to Darynia.*

I am sorry for this, but this is the only way to return to my home. Your death will open the door back to my world. I needed you here for this is were the gate opened, and I must be near it for me to return. I ask that you forgive me for this.

*Anyndir dashes torward Darynia, his swords poised to strike and defend.*

EDIT: OOC: the swords are sentient, so he is quite literally talking to them.

It was the one button thing that got me... couldn't figure out how to right click on anything, it was too fucking simple... I like dificult. And hey this is personal opinion... I hate Mac... I think it is overrated... for me PC's work far better than MAC's as shown by the it takes it all of .65 seconds for it to crash when I use it. PC's like me MAC's don't.
