Idea: Somebody said something about making an RP that takes place in our world (no magic, no robots, etc). I stumbled upon the craziest character sheet ever. I figured it'd be fun to create an RP in the real world with ridiculously fleshed out characters.

Backdrop: We all play characters trapped in a resort for two weeks due to a freak snow storm. Phone lines are dead, and cell phones aren't getting any signal. There's heat, water, and power, but that's it. Connection with the outside world is effectively severed.

The point of this RP will to play real people in a real situation which will test them in every way possible. Try not to play the same character you always do. Try to really play a believable person, with real motives, dreams, and ideals. Let's see if we can write some high-calibur shit together, people.

Well, Peter and Claire are what the viewers that comprise the shit-for-brains to idiot demograph care about, and last I checked, they still maintain majority in the polls.

As long as television is mandated to succumb to the wishes of the majority, television will suffer.

That being said, Heroes is still honestly the best show on television right now.

"This is the only remnant of Rogue Wave still in the city."

Tobias chuckled quietly before reacquiring a serious tone.

"They went north by way of the desert, and they had some seriously crazy transportation."

Seifer nodded.

"Alden, we need to stop them. I have a plan, but I'm going to need your permission."

Okay, this is an idea I proposed in the staff forum which I'm officially bringing out into the open. To promote activity, I'll be running an event from late October through November known as Shredsgiving (working title).

The purpose of Shredsgiving is simple: To pay thanks to the awesome board we've all been a part of for so many years. The best way to do that is to get as much activity as we can in as short amount of time as possible.

The main event of Shredsgiving will be The Big Race. Everyone willing to compete will be organized into a team. You will decide on a team name and banner, and you are suggested to promote as much team pride as possible. The point of the teams is this: Over the course of Shredsgiving, we will monitor your team's posting records. These posts will be tallied into one final count, and the team with the most points will be named the Kings and Queens of Shredding and win an as of yet unnamed Super Awesome Prize (Xeo, please PM me about this.)

During Shredsgiving, I will also host a series of games (hopefully one in every major forum) that will allow your team to accumulate "Bonus Posts". I will also award Bonus Posts to members who bring in more active members, create new schemes and banners or do something extraordinary for the board. Even if your team does not post the most, if you try 100%, you still can come out on top!

If you're interested (which I certainly hope everybody is!), please post here. The preliminary deadline for sign-ups is the 17th. Shredsgiving will most likely be from October 23-November 23, so even if you know you can't post some days, be sure to show your Xeogaming Pride!

The willing members will be split into (likely) 3 or 4 teams, depending on which makes things more even.

The rules (not yet set in stone) are as follows:

*Each regular post will reward your team one point.
*There will be random bonus hours, where every post in that hour will count as two posts.
*Getting a new member to join will bring your team ten points, and every post after their tenth post will award your team one point.
*Lengthy posting sprees between two teammates will be forbidden.
*No excessive spam. Posts are allowed to be ridiculous, but repeated one word or one sentence posts run the risk of not only being uncounted, but counted as penalty posts (so, if you have 1000 team posts (including spam), and twenty posts are counted as pentaly posts, you will only have 960 points.)
*Flaming will reward you super penalty points (-15 for each post with a flame).
*Teams are allowed one "fortress" thread where they may post actively amongst themselves, but these threads will be monitored for unfair posting sprees between two members.

Those are the rules in progress.

EDIT: Also, team captains will be chosen after teams are orgainzed. The teams will nominate a captain and vote on them amongst themselves.

Pacing wildly about the IFDF, Gregory Luzhin rubbed his bald head with a sense of panic. He had heard of the attack on the courthouse. That was not good. Not good at all. He saw Alden enter, and with a frenzied panic, he rushed towards him.

"Alden! You're here! Tell me, what's going on out there? Are we alright? Tell me we're alright. I know we're alright. Of course we are. We're the IFDF. We're always alright. We're alright, right?!"
