Ok kids and kidetts... I am writing a paper for my english class about Boy Scouts and what the impact of the program and how it has affected people in society. As a Eagle Scout (highest rank you can earn as a boy) I know the program gets alot of heat for the poor decisions others make. I want to make one thing clear, not every scout you are ever going to meet is like that in any way.

So what do you think? Feedback will help in every way, please no noob flaming.
((sorry if this isnt the right forum to put it in...wasnt sure..))

I have alot of good ones, but one recent one comes to mind that tops the cake for me.

((long history please bare with me))

Last year in January, my brother went on his "boy scout cabin campout" without my dad there. I decided to join the campout because since i havent seen a couple people that were going in years, to play catch up basically... anyways.. Friday nite, while all the boys were sleeping, a friend and i decide were going to get them all in some way. Me him and my brother drove up together and not with the rest of the group so we had access to a car. unknowing to my brother we had $50 in saran wrap...erm...plastic wrap in the trunk along with $45 in duct tape. Along with a mega phone.

The room is one big open room, the boys are sleeping on half bunks...bunks with no tops...each had one of those plastic totes under the bunk as well..we also did not go much past the mid-chest line, this was because if they did move they wouldnt choke themselves and pass out...cause that would suck... so what im going to state, seems easy, but it really wasnt.

Anyways...at the dead of the nite..morning some may say (1 am), we decided to get to work. After unloading the car, the two of us (my brother is asleep dont forget), went around to certain kids (who we knew wouldnt care) and started to go to work. After about 6 kids (out of a group of about 20 or so), we went for my brother. Instead of saran wraping him to the bed, we decided to have more exciting time with him. Seeing that it was about 50 degrees outside, and a unsually warm winter for michigan standards, we picked him out of bed, with his sleeping bag, and went outside, and put him on a picnic table. After going through about two rolls of saran wrap, we pulled out the duct tape. And used a brand new roll and half of duct tape over the saran wrap for extra secureness.

After we were done at around 3.30am, we went to bed...nite came and went and when we woke the kids up, using the mega phone, they noticed Justin, my brother missing. They searched and searched for him and one kid found him outside. Noticing that he was still asleep, the kid grabbed the mega phone and quietly stepped outside, where he used the good ol' siren feature thats on ever mega phone to wake him up.

Good Times.

well i did have pictures, but since i wiped my computer about three times, and moved i dont know where the cd is taht i burned them on. so we are going to attemp to do it in december. hopefully if i remember ill take pictures of them.

I got another one too...

I also work for the Red Cross as a First Aid instructor. So I was asked by my brothers scout troop to teach the kids during the first year campout how to do first aid. Instead of giving them the same old boring lecture, i decided to spruce it up quite a bit.

During the halloween season when i was asked i bought 32 oz of fake blood. Because eventually i knew i was going to use it. Anyways. January finally comes, and my test subject was my brother (of course), we rehearsed the following scene several times at home whtout the blood over and over. The rest of the group along with the first years and the boy scouts we were camping with had no idea we were doing this. They just knew we went to go set up. Except a few adults, cause when we radioed for help they wouldtn panic and call the ambulance.

Scene. Cabin set back with a black wooden ranch type fence surrounding it. The opening field in front of the cabin inside the fenced in area, has two fire bowls and 3 flag poles. The width is about 150 yards across each way. its quite a site to see.

When i saw the signal to have them be sent out of the cabin, i radioed over to the adults... we need help here.. justin fell off the fence while he was trying to jump over it. and its a bloody mess. i think he broke a bone or two.
As the kids were walking out they saw this and all ran over. (50 yards) My brother remained still and motionless, the kid did such a great job, you couldnt tell if he was breathing or not. I stood back as the kids tried to perform cpr and build a stretcher.. it was quite a venture to see. So after about an hour or so, they finally loaded him into the back of this one guys car, and i drove him away. We came back a half hour or so with him having no cast or sling at all, and all the blood gone off of his face, and a whole new set of clothes. We had the whole group fooled.

So we decided to do it again, this time justin, my brother, would be entangled in the fence. We saw some cub scouts coming down the way so he performed his little feat, of falling and geting stuck. What made it worse, not only was he laying down into the snow motionless, i was standing on the opposite side of the fence, smiling and giving a thumbs up to the kids walking by. At first the kids didnt belive us so they walked on by, but this tough guy, all built and junk with his kids sled passed by and stared at me.

"arent you going to help that kid there?"
Me: Nah hes fine
small whining:...help me....
"he looks like hes hurt."
Me: Nah hes fine.

So the guy shoves me out of the way and jumps over the fence and just as he is about to pick my brother up and carry him into the cabin, he pops up and scares the living shit out of the guy. The guy steps back and looks at me and then him and back at me again... smiles and goes on hsi way. Just as he jumps the fence, i holler out.... "I told you he was fine."

He turns back to me smiles and gives me the finger, and we quickly run back into the cabin.

On another happy note, I would like to share a story with all of you.
A couple boys in my troop contacted me this past week, wanting to do something to help the victims of the hurricane. So i told them try and collect money from relatives, friends and family, and neighbors, and whatever you collect, i will match 100% of it.

Three days go by, and i get a call back from the same three boys. They had collected over $250 just the together in one loop around the neighborhood. They did this by doing a bottle drive. I was exteremly shocked and glad to see that these kids took the initiative out of their summer and after school time to go out and do something productive that will help so many.

So as a loyal eagle scout, i fufilled my promise and matched their total. Today, there was a donation truck leaving for new orleans i belive while they were in school, so i talked to the three kids' parents permission to take the three down to the truck before they left. Describing the situation, both parents were shocked and had no idea they collected that much.

So earlier today, I took the boys down to the drop off spot and had them present the head person with a check for $510.

I am extremely pleased with these boys. At a young age (15, 14, and 12), it is rare to find kids these days with heart and determination like they had this past few days. I know for a fact, if it wasnt for the fact that these boys were in Boy Scouting, that they would of never done what they had done. I am extremely proud of them and can not wait to see what they will accomplish on their road to eagle.

I thought i would like to share that story with you guys. A little cheer, expecially with all that has gone on, never hurts once and a while.

Whats your costume going to be for halloween?
Im going to a party on the 30th, and one of the awards is best vintage costume, and best overall. Im hoping since its a party with a bunch of people my age, and younger, that they vote for me.. cause i mean how great is it to see something old come back. So i decided mine will be a White Power Ranger (has nothing to do with my layout at all). my brother and i were going through my moms old designs, and we found her old power rangers costume designs from when the series first came out. I found my talking sword from the original series and everything.

Im also trying to convince my brother to be the pink ranger, and get like my sisters bra and stuff it, so he looks like an actual girl.

if they have flee markets there (where ever you live) like they do here. these uber sw nerds make real light sabers for like $200, the blade is made out of plexi glass so you can wack people with then and the handle with a shit load of detail is made out of stainless steel and polished really nicely. they really look nice.

or you can pick up one of those cheap pieces of crap toy ones for like $10

It still pisses me off when i think about it.....

You could fo done what i did, and joined another troop. I was kicked out for...kicking the shit out of a member of the troop...whom happened to be the scoutmasters nephew and the charter rep's son. So i joined my friends troop (whom later would become my brothers troop to join) and got my eagle in 2004.

Forced reload doesnt even work. Like Kaijin said, its loading it, then it just stops. It does it to hotmail for me too, but then i can click a different link and then read my mail a different way. For here, it just wont me look at the site. Like i said earlier, i can view the recent posts on ice board just fine. And ice board is a acmlm board as well.

just a suggestion, they look like the paint leaked through or something. Make sure you secure the template down to the flat surface. So you get a clean design. If you can have cardboard under the shirt, inbetween the shirt, and have the template on top, secure the top and bottom, making sure the middle remains steady, and hang it to dry, not removing either three.

Also, try not to over dose the paint, make sure you evenly spray it and dont puddle it. it looks much better.

I work in a printing shop, just some tips from when we did that type of stuff.

Well, i was a sophmore in high school when it happened. I recently moved from nyc actually to michigan my freshmen year, we lived right down the street...well a few blocks down.... from where it happened, and according to my dad the building was destroyed but salvageable. I lived there my whole life, and my dad used to work for the big company that was lost in the first...or second building (cant recal teh name). I remember when i was 12, he took me to his office building for the first time, one of the toppest floors....the view was remarkable, you could litterally look on forever...

When 9.11 hit, i was in my english class talking about the Red Wings and their success for the current season. (the would go on and win it all). our school sheltered it alot, and cut the channels throughout the whole district, but our teacher was some 1337 hacker and put it up through his tv. I saw the second plane hit, and the first one fall, and i broke down. Everyone knew me as the "new kid" since it was my second year in michigan, and i immediatly ran out, and collapsed...I was later pulled out of class the rest of the day, and was basically the principal's aide for basically that day and most of the entire week. I didnt want to be social with anyone, because of how they were treating me...more or less like a handicap person because i lived there for so many years. I would have my homework sent to the principals' office and i would work on it there.

it was hard.

I really don't know what to do about that, I just took a look at the file itself and I don't see what could be causing it to not work correctly for you.

It hasn't happened to anyone else?

Im at school now too, and ive tried everything to get it to show up and its having the same problem that it has at my house. Ive tried force refreshing, on netscape, firefox, ie, and mozilla, and nothign seems to work.

Besides the point, thank you all for the welcome.
