So hi people, I'm Mega-Mario, coming from the three boards mentioned in my sig. The third one is based off a new, Acmlmboard-like software that was coded from scratch, and I can proudly say I'm contributing to its development

Other than that, I hope I can find subjects of interest here...

1. Warning: mktime() expects parameter 4 to be long, string given in /home/xeo/xeogaming.org/editprofile.php on line 197

This warning appears at the top of the page when you edit your profile, due to Acmlmboard's really, really poor code. Well atleast I got no birthday related issues when registering, so let's not complain

2. The NEW stickers. Those all go away when you mark a forum read, but when you read a thread, nothing can be done, they don't go away. So how am I supposed to know what's new and what's not?

That's what I said, they go away when you hit "mark forum read", but when you read a thread that has a NEW sticker, it doesn't go away, when it should.

As an example, I cleared them all, then I replied to the introductions thread, it got a NEW sticker, and the sticker doesn't go away when reading the thread.

Ok then; I don't even know what it is, so I guess there's no problem

No problem.

But yeah, this gotta get fixed, it's annoying to not know what is actually new, and I'm too lazy to mark forums read all the time

Edit- I also gotta say, there are security holes. For example, I'm not supposed to have this custom title.

To you people who are already panicking and thinking I came here just to destroy the forum, calm down, you're wrong. I will not reveal the security holes publicly for obvious reasons, I will not fuck up anything, but I'm going to send them to Demi-Fiend via email as I find them.

And, when I get the doubleposting error, I get redirected to $thread[title] according to the error message.

And the best thing, if I want to change my custom title, I don't even need to hack the board again! The board will show the field in editprofile 'cause I already have a custom title.

Nah, you just got used to Acmlmboard 1.x and its shitty code. See for example, on ABXD (AcmlmBoard XD, the software NikoBoard is using), when you read a thread, the board removes the thread's NEW sticker automatically! No need to hit Mark forum read

What, I do know Acmlmboard 1.x severely lacks an admin panel, but there's still edituser!

Allright, I reported some security holes I found to Demi-Fiend over email, but it seems like he doesn't check his email quite often

Yeah but y'know how it is, Acmlm doesn't know what 'security' means apparently so you either get a secure board software (like ABXD), or if you don't feel like changing (which is quite probable), you fix the holes, or expect problems on your board :/

Or you could use ABXD. Its database format is quite similar to AB1.x's. But there will be stuff that will need to be fixed by hand.

So yeah, just keeping this board seems the best solution.

Backslashes? Ah, those Acmlmboards...

stripslashes() can help you fight against those shitloads of evil backslashes taking over the board!

There are also HTML entities getting eaten when editing/quoting a post.

Oops...

And yes, it is, with a few changes to adapt to this board's HTML.

Thanks

Well, this layout uses the &numposts& tag to give the divs a different class for each post, and the same tag is passed to the PHP script that generates the stylesheet. If anyone wants I can give 'em that script...

Never, and nowhere. 'Cause drunken males tend to be aggressive.

If you were on a tiny island in the middle of the sea, with nothing but a palm tree, what would you do?
