I don't blog the way most people do... I have manymanymany blogs, and the ones that actually talk about me end up dying. XD

ObsceneDreams ~ My fiction blog. Don't read the first story if you're easily offended by blasphemy.
Melancholic Rainbow ~ My poetry blog, for when I get my emo on.
Tale of a Huntress ~ My WoW RP blog. It's just started, and kinda sucks. :/
And, of course, Facebook.

I suddenly forget my Twitter account name. D:

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I mean, when I first saw LotR I was amazed. If it weren't for that movie, I wouldn't be who I am now. It was a while before I got all snobby and decided it was horrible. XD

I'm sure the Hobbit will be just as amazing.

I maintain the stance that as a film, the LotR movies are the best film ever, but as an adaptation, they're butchery. XD

As for Harry Potter, I haven't seen one of those since the 4th one. They just disappointed me so badly. The books were amazing when I read them (nothing compared to Tolkien, of course), but the movies strayed so far from the original material, and were... ugh.

I can't comment on Twilight, as I refuse to read/watch it.

I found a (V)ethvl thread. :o

...And no mention of the awesomest band evar.

Oh well, I shall have to remedy that.

. . .

EPICA

Probably not to most of y'all's tastes, but it is, indeed, the greatest band in the universe. Evar.

Simone Simons (the main female vocalist) is a Goddess. <3 I love her more than everything. Her voice is divine. She is everything I aspire to be. I would worship at her feet, had I the chance.

I checked the whole thread to be sure I wasn't posting something already mentioned. If Epica had been mentioned, I would have emitted a high-pitched girlish squeal. *NodNod.*

I love Metal with female vocals, but I'm very picky about them. XD I don't like pop sounding vocals.

Like, I LOVE Nightwish. They were my favorite band before I discovered Epica. But... Anette sorta makes me think of a pop band. :| I mean, she IS a good singer... I just don't adore her like I do Tarja.

I've tried other Metal bands with female vocalists, but I don't get the same chill down my spine that Simone or Tarja gives me.

Ooh, I like Lacuna Coil. Well, a few songs at least. I have them on my iTunes. I really like Cristina Scabbia's voice, because I can match it at least slightly. I have a cover of the song she did with Apocalyptica on Youtube. >w<

When I first listened to Epica, I didn't like the death growls. They've slowly grown on me and now I love them. I read a comment on Youtube once that explained the purpose of them and I love it. They said that it's a Beauty and the Beast thing. Epica doesn't sing about a perfect world, so the guttural grunts and growls are meant to be imperfections in the world.

I don't get screaming, tho. :/ Occasionally I like it (I have some CoF on my iTunes. Just two albums, tho), but mostly it gives me a headache.

Growling > Screaming, imo.

When I was younger (like, 6ish XD) I hated Metal, because all I'd ever heard was my mom's version. Like, the stuff they play on the radio. I like some of that stuff now, but back then, it sounded like high-pitched screaming to me.

Maybe music is like food... Your tastes change as you get older?

O.o

Meh, one of my best friends is (was?) a Juggalette.

I dun get it. :/

I mean, I used to listen to the Top 40 stations in middle school, but I never really liked the rap. Except for Eminem. O.o

I also was an Enya and Loreena McKennitt junkie. >.>

I'm not sure why I'm writing this here... I guess it's because I want to be somewhat heard. The forum I usually frequent wouldn't allow this, and a note on Facebook wouldn't generate replies. So I'm resorting to people who I only know through reading old forum posts, and who only know me through a few posts I've finally made this past week or so.

Hopefully this makes sense.

. . .

I'm a very odd person. I wish to be many things, the least of which is ordinary, or conforming to any sort of ideal, save my own. However, this morning I realized something.

I'm the perfect woman. Well, almost.

If perfection can be based off sexist jokes and commentary, along with archaic expectations, then I match a certain type of perfection.

While I'm not perfect physically, I have many traits that (supposedly) many men want in a woman.

*I spend almost all my time in the kitchen, be it cooking or cleaning.
*I make amazing sandwiches.
*I'm obedient. I do as I'm told with rare exception.
*I'm submissive. (Not going into detail on this... >.>)
*I'm quiet.
*I don't speak my mind. To the point that I suppress my thoughts in order to not make people feel bad.

Ever since I equated this, I've been driven insane.

What I've always wanted to be, was an independent, successful woman. One who doesn't need a man, who was BETTER than men. Somehow, I've ended up being the opposite of that... A meek mouse terrified of her shadow, enslaved to the thought of serving masculinity.

There's so many things I imagine myself doing, but as it is, it appears the most I'll do with my life is become some sort of domestic housewife.

Basically, this discovery gives credence to my hypothesis that I'll never amount to anything, seeing as I failed school, don't have a job, am afraid of everything, and can't do anything for myself.

I just feel really... Like I'm worthless.

Sorry for wasting anyone who reads this' time...

One of my issues with going to work, is that I'm agoraphobic (meaning that I'm afraid of social places and people), and I'm pretty much terrified that if I leave my house I'll die.

Seriously.

It's hilarious but true. x.x

And I'd totally take classes, but I've failed so much at school that my college GPA is less than 2.0, so I can't get financial aid (and I can't afford to pay for it, which is why I want a job). The messed up part, is that while half of it was my fault, the other half was due to illness (swine flu and gall bladder surgery) and mental issues.

In regard to both of those, however, I'm trying to work with a program in my town that helps people with mental illnesses get jobs (I have a panic disorder and I'm bipolar, both of which are apparently major mental illnesses, ranked up with Schizophrenia).

Unfortunately, I'm having issues making and keeping appointments. One of the many traits Nelrith and I share is a phone phobia, so like, I'm afraid to call. x.x

If I do manage to get back into school, I know at least part of what I'm going to do. I'm going to get a degree in Early Childhood Development, because I'm thinking about being a preschool teacher. And if I don't be a preschool teacher, I'll use that degree combined with a Psychology degree and an Art degree to be a Art Therapist for children.

I specifically want to work with sexually abused children, since that cause is... really close to me. I want to help people, and I want my life to be meaningful.

I mean, I want to be more than just a housewife popping out babies and caring for her family. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just want more.

The first song I remember loving is George Thorogood and the Destroyers' You Talk Too Much. I was five (or younger). I would sing it whenever it came on on my mom's cassette player. I also loved Bad to the Bone (Maybe someday I'll post my parody of that here...).

Unfortunately, when my parents got married (I was the flower girl!!) many things changed for the worse. Most of which I won't mention here, but the most relevant one would be the music. My father liked country music.

COUNTRY MUSIC. D:

The bane of my existence. I had to listen to it constantly, because the h*llhole of a town I lived in didn't have ANY radio stations EXCEPT country. (You know that town nearby where people say all the hicks live, where incest and sheep-f***ing abounds? Yeah, that's where I lived. -.-')

In fourth grade, we moved to my grandparents' house briefly. It was an even SMALLER town, and we lived like five miles away from it, but the top 40s stations actually came in!

And that was when I fell in love with Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, and N*Sync. The only cassette I ever owned (my family was poor >.>) was the Backstreet Boys' Millennium album. I loved it. Well, I loved two or three songs on it, at least. XD

I loved Britney Spears up until middle school. I had two of her CDs. I still don't understand why.

Fortunately, my AWESOME Art/English/Geography/History teacher (she totally should have been paid more, considering how many classes she taught...) introduced me to Enya and Loreena McKennitt. Her daughter burned me CDs (That said "Not for listening in class" on them XD) and I seriously listened to them until the metallic film on the CD peeled off.

Around 9th grade, I stopped listening to Top 40 stuff. I started listening to "New Rock and 90s Alternative." XD Oh, and I was obsessed with Green Day. That was around when their American Idiot CD came out.

I gradually moved to the harder Rock and Metal channel.

And then I met Chris.

I was 18, and Chris was this lil' metalhead I met on GaiaOnline (Shutup. >.>) who liked sending me furry porn. He helped me SO much musically (and in loads of other ways).

Eventually, I found my own musical taste. It varies and is weird, but it works for me.

My favorite genre is Symphonic Metal, but my iTunes has everything from Electronica to 80's Europop.

And that's how Equestria was made. Maybe next time I can tell you how I came to like the music I do!

I may have ADD. My shrink said that if I still have symptoms with the medications I'm taking, she'll look into it. But she's thinking it's just the bipolar.

And I'll look into that. I always figured that the Agoraphobia was something I'd just have to get over, since most people seem to think that it's not a big deal.

I used to be really into history, but my interests have dwindled of late.

I've always found American history to be extremely boring. I've always enjoyed European History and Mythology, however.

My FAVORITE medium of history is Anthropology, so much so that almost every semester I've taken of college so far has included an Anthropology/Archaeology class. I'm also a great fan of Paleontology. <3

I tried online classes. I tried hard, I swear I did... I bombed those harder than I did the regular classes. I just couldn't focus on them (Which is part of why I think I have ADD. I can't focus on ANYthing. Like, even reading for pleasure, and I used to be a ravenous reader. I read the Silmarillion in two days the first time I read it).

And yeah, I intend on taking one class at a time when I can afford at least one. Ima retake the ones I failed first, then go into ECD.

My medicine atm doesn't connect with ADD. The ADD symptoms I have could just be Bipolar symptoms, so she wants to rule that out before she looks into ADD.

I read the Bible leisurely over the summer in 8th grade I think it was... Funny the stuff that is and isn't in it.

The first time I read LotR, it took me 5 days. I actually intended to read it sooner than I did, but the elementary school I was in didn't have it. But, when my mom brought home FotR, I paused it ten minutes in and ran to the library and got the Hobbit and LotR. Then after I finished reading them I watched the rest of the movie.

Yeah, I've always read fast. After my first time through, I got even faster. Last time I timed myself (around 7th grade) I could read The Two Towers in two hours.

My mom likes Bon Jovi and Pink Floyd. I like some Bon Jovi. Not a Pink Floyd fan (which is apparently tantamount to heresy >.>).

And I'm from Oregon, and I randomly have a southern twang. How weird is that? I had a British friend of mine tell me my voice sounded "Backwoods." So I sound like a hick? :/ I blame my Southern Nana and Father. (And this totally relates to Metal. >.>)

As for Karaoke, I've never done it. Well, unless you count the one time I did it with one of my best friends and my sister on my friend's Xbox... I totally PWNED Ice Ice Baby.

I also do covers of songs and put them on Youtube. That may count as karaoke. Iunno.
