Did we ever evolve from Monkeys or cavemen or whatever or did God make us.
Now seeing as im religios and believe in God I am going to say that God made us, but think for a second, what if we really evolved from something?
What if we origionally evolved from frogs or whatever. What do u think?

Personally I think some greater power put the beginings of life on this planet, but we ourselves evolved from this organisms. It's just easier for me to think this since it combines both science and faith.

I've done research on the Cambrian explosion and did a presentation on it. The cambrian explosion being the first explosion of multi celled, complex organisms on Earth about 500 million years ago. I've studied dinosaurs and fossil records.

I'd have to say evolution plays a large part in life on Earth. But i also believe in Gods and Godesses and the supernatural. I'm not sure if these powers were what created life in the first place and we just moved on from there or if it was entirel the result of the explanations made by scientists abou the Big Bang and all that.

What I do know is that I won't live long enough to see a definitive answer to that question so I'm just trying to make my way through the world.

I pretty much see things the same way that WhitRose does. Life originated from tiny single celled organisms and elements (all hail the bio major), and I personaly like to believe that my Goddess put them there. I cannot comfirm it though, so it is just a belief.

I liek to believe that we evolved, but I too believe in God. I have, however, wondered about the possibility of God creating life and then sort of made us evolve into what we are now.

If I was for one side I'd be able to make a decent arguement, bu tI'm a little stuck on this topic, which kind of sucks.

There are many problems with evolution I've found.

#1 Salt: The ocean's amount of salt should be much higher then it currently is for there to have been millions of years for evolution.

#2 Strength: A chimpanzee can easily break a mans arm, and almost every monkey is stronger than a human. Are you saying we evolved downwards?

#3 Rapid decay: according to the most acurate theory about magnetic fields, for there to have been time for evolution, there shouldn't be a magnetic field! It should have decayed by now.

Ok god made Adam and Eve or whatever.. but you have to wonder.. How was God himself made to create these things? I mean He's the creator of the heavens and existence and everything. I agree with the evolution thing. We started out as single celled organisms.. then evolved to bigger, smarter, etc. more complex organisms. And we advanced in our technology and knowledge of the "living" world as we evolved into what we are today.

We didn't evolve downward, just differently. There is a current evidence that the Chimpanzee is not our closest relative, but that it is the Bonobo, a rare and near extinct primate that seems to be closer in appearance at least to australopithecines (the prehuman that chimps, bonobos, and humans are believed to evolved from). I found a very interesting article on the subject actually.

Also, explain why the salt content of the ocean contradicts evolution. Oh, and I assume when you mention the magnetic field you are talking about Earth's magnetic field, right? There have been many arguments about that, like this one that show that the Creation Science theory is wrong.

One of the reasons that this theory was further explored and appraised was just to give us the impression that everything on earth is mathematically perfect and that we don't have any significance, which it isn't true at all. There must be a creator for things like language, laws, and numbers to exist, because knowledge cannot grow from just knowledge, there has to be something that makes a plan. Evolution would be like Contra becoming Timesplitters without any outside force. Every game takes a programmer, so why not earth?. We were made to all fit into one giant story, our lives carefully written before we were made. Evolution has to be false once you realize this.

The salt theory:

When water is isolated for a large amount of time, it makes salt. The earths was has been isolated for a long time, and there should have been much more salt in the ocean for evolution.

Last but not least, where did the original creature/slime/whatever come from?

Wait, WHAT?

Water - H2O

Salt - Na (Sodium) and one other element, depending on what type of salt.

So. Ignoring the other element, as it varies based on what kind of salt you're referring to... where do you get sodium from hydrogen and oxygen?

Vulkar, many freshwater lakes and streams have been isolated for centuries, and they have not produced salt, so that theory is totally wrong. Where the hell did you hear that?

Well, this is how I see it.

Remember how most story start off with the whole story saying that there is a void and nothing existed for a long time? I don't know which religious said that but I assume it was Greek since Zeus was involve. Okay...

Well, when the world was void, someone brought life and end the void's power. Soon, the god died and made more gods and provided land, water, tree, etc. So this gods finally have some sons and created life. Someone told him that his own sons and daughter will fight against them so he swallow one after another. So his wife, just giving a birth to Zeus, hid him and had his father swallow a stone. So his wife safely save Zeus.

When Zeus got older, he finally slice his father open and free his brothers and sisters. So they gang up on his father and finally kill him. After that, each was assigned to do their duties.

So I am assuming that God was there. Okay, how? I am thinking... What if God who created two lifeform, Adam and Eve since they ate the Forbidden Apple and told the Greek God a lie? I thought it would fit in perfectly.

And after the whole thing, many gods started creating life, hoping that none of them would try to rebel against them but found it hopefully since people have their mind of own.

Wow... sorry Beo, but that horribly confused me. Your comparing the Christian God to the Titans of Greek mythology? That kinda makes no sense... but meh.

well Tamarin, Creation only assumes that a God exists, while evolution assumes that human logic is perfect, that the unseen doesn't exist exept with forces, that hunger of knowledge is the only reason for life, and that natural disasters happen for no apparent reason, always. I still really like my theory better than yours.

Ah, Creation may only assume that, but your post makes more assumptions.

"One of the reasons that this theory was further explored and appraised was just to give us the impression that everything on earth is mathematically perfect and that we don't have any significance"

The last part of that. "and that we don't have any significance". In the first sentence, you assume what is in the mind of those who believe in evolution. A bad start if I ever saw one.

"knowledge cannot grow from just knowledge,"

Incorrect. If you know one thing, then you can use that knowledge to discover (that being learn about) another. Pretty simple, really, and the basis for invention. Besides, by your logic, that would mean that people couldn't use inventions to create more inventions, and so we'd be stuck with fire and the wheel.

"Evolution would be like Contra becoming Timesplitters without any outside force."

Putting aside the videogame reference, Evolution does have outside forces - specifically, the need to change to better adapt to your environment. Believe it or not, that need doesn't come from the creature itself, but from the environment, thusly it's an outside force. Surprise!

"We were made to all fit into one giant story, our lives carefully written before we were made"

Do I even need to say where this begins to be against any form of logic whatsoever? You make an assumption based on a book that has little basis in historical fact.

And even in your recent post, you make assumptions. Evolution has NOTHING to do with what unseen things exist, the reason for life, or natural disasters. It only relates to the state of the Earth's creatures.

Edit: Yeah, you can pretty much call this my return.

Well, actually evolution does have to do a bit with natural disasters because natural disasters are one of the things that create the need for change.

Fine, I'll reword that. Evolution has nothing to do with the source of natural disasters.

I believe in evolution now more than I ever have in my entire life due to research on the big bang and the science behind it. It blew my mind the sheer complex nature of our universe.

I don't believe in 'god' 'gods' or any sort of higher power.
